2 Introduction The Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Passpoint program is a certification program from Wi-Fi Alliance launched in June 2012 to dramatically improve the end-user experience in Wi-Fi hotspots. As of September 2013, the program has certified more than 150 products, including a diverse range of smartphones and tablets from a variety of vendors, and infrastructure gear from leading vendors for use in public Wi-Fi hotspots. Currently, there are global trials of Passpoint underway as part of the Next Generation Hotspot (NGH) initiative that will help to establish a unified roaming approach. The objective of the research, which was conducted in Europe among consumers who own multiple mobile devices, was to identify the attitudes, behaviors, and the usage of roaming among people who use multiple devices regularly. In doing so, we set out to obtain comprehensive and insightful findings from multiple device owners across four key markets: France, Germany, Sweden and the United Kingdom. This document summarizes the key findings of this research. Notes on Methodology The Wi-Fi Alliance survey was conducted by Edelman Berland between August 20-30, 2013 among more than 2,000 consumers over 18 years of age in France, Germany, Sweden and the United Kingdom who have multiple mobile devices. The margin of error (MOE) for the audience is + 2.2% at the 95% confidence level.
