Warfighters gain realistic and cost-effective opportunities to rehearse missions and sharpen skills. General Dynamics Information Technology integrates solutions for every type of training.
4 The Leading Force in Simulation and Training Most of America s soldiers in Iraq have trained on ranges or systems developed by General Dynamics Information Technology. (source: U.S. Army PEO STRI) General Dynamics Information Technology supports mission-critical simulation and training programs. We are a primary provider of everything from constructive training support for the U.S. Army to schoolhouse instruction for all intelligence and unmanned aircraft systems... to inspector training for border security. Training the Digital Force. Our training support solutions help the U.S. Army ensure the readiness of its digital force. We provide a constructive wrap around for Brigade Combat Team (BCT) training and replicate seamless transitions among LVC elements. Our solutions use the Army Battle Command System (ABCS) and other C4ISR systems to conduct real-world training exercises. We support most fielded ABCS-related systems, including the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System, Air and Missile Defense Work Station and Global Command and Control System Army. Instrumented Ranges. General Dynamics Information Technology is the recognized leader in instrumented ranges and the sole source of instrumentation for U.S. Army live fire Digital Range Training Systems. We provide scalable, highly flexible solutions for Digital Multi-Purpose Range Complexes (DMPRC), Digital Multi-Purpose Training Ranges and Battle Area Complexes. Our experience includes instrumentation for the first DMPRC at Fort Hood and support to the U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) for all live training ranges. Urban Operations Training. We integrate training systems that replicate real-life urban battlefield environments. Called Military Operations on Urban Terrain (MOUT), these instrumented structures provide realistic training that improves warfighter safety and mission success. We developed the first MOUT for PEO STRI at the Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk. Since then, PEO STRI has turned to us for MOUT facilities nationwide and overseas, which primarily serve the U.S. Army, Army National Guard (ARNG) and Special Operations Forces. To support affordable, forward-area training, we developed a rapidly deployable and reconfigurable Mobile MOUT, plus the Mobile Tactical Trainer customized for law enforcement and homeland security. Curriculum Development. General Dynamics Information Technology is an industry leader in curriculum development, instructional systems design and human performance technology. Life-cycle training services range from needs analysis and planning to course design, development, delivery and management. Our company is a cornerstone of U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) initiatives. We conduct platform instruction for intelligence and unmanned aerial surveillance. We provide advanced individual training, basic and advanced officer courses, cultural awareness training and office education system training. Solutions also include the Air Combat Training System for the U.S. Navy and the Training and Performance Support System developed with the Veterans Benefits Administration.
5 Staff Training. Incorporating the full spectrum of learning methods, we have created and implemented training programs for the Joint Staff, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Army Headquarters Staff, ARNG, Aberdeen Proving Ground Ordnance Mechanical Maintenance School, U.S. Army Intelligence Center and other defense organizations. Our company provides constructive Battle Simulation Exercise Support to over 40 active Army and ARNG simulation centers worldwide. We help ARNG s Battle Staff Training Teams (BSTT) provide trained battalions for the Army. Our specialists deploy to support training and contingency operations, design and execute BSTT seminar and simulation exercises and provide training feedback to battalion commanders, staffs and the Army. We also support the ARNG s exportable Combat Training Capability program. Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Employing highly trained instructors and course developers, we provide advanced UAS training to the U.S. Army, Navy and Marine Corps for systems such as Shadow, Hunter, Warrior A and ER/MP SkyWarrior. Since 2002, our staff has amassed more than 650,000 hours of UAS instruction experience. Our ability to produce highly proficient UAS pilots, sensor operators and maintenance professionals is unmatched. Wargaming. General Dynamics Information Technology is a leading integrator in support of real-world wargaming for senior military leaders, applying collaborative and visualization tools that take them to the heart of future warfighting issues. We design, develop and execute strategic and operational level wargames for the U.S. Air Force, other service branches and the joint community. To incorporate the best possible science, we employ a wargame information environment that consolidates best-of-breed IT, responsive and customized database tools and integration of accredited analysis-based models and simulations. Distributed Mission Operations. The Air Force, Reserve Components and Joint Forces rely on our subject matter expertise and operational support to integrate distributed training into training transformation initiatives. Establishing links between wide and local area networks and aircrew and C2 simulators in immersive, virtual theaters, we help replicate real-world combat challenges in true LVC training environments. Student and Training Management Systems. Our company develops, implements and supports online management systems that increase the efficiency and effectiveness of training delivery. These systems support fielded soldiers, maintain operational readiness and deliver training content to locations worldwide. The many initiatives we serve include the Army s Lifelong Learning Center and Resident Individual Training Management System. Marine and Border Security. For U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), our company trains agents and officers to use non-intrusive inspection technology, the effective use of which has become an integral part of securing the borders. We also provide marine safety training to CBP marine interdiction agents in Florida. Our award-winning multimedia cultural awareness course for military intelligence prepares warfighters for operational realities in Afghanistan. We integrate LVC training to deliver the most realistic and cost-effective instruction worldwide.
6 Technology and Innovation for a New Era of Training As part of the Raytheon-led Warrior Training Alliance, we deliver state-of-the-art constructive simulation support for the Warfighter FOCUS program. Our customers turn to General Dynamics Information Technology for cost-effective, technology-based training and for transformational solutions that are taking training and readiness to whole new levels of capability. Simulation Leadership: Keeping It Real. Our company is a proven thought leader in simulation development and support. This translates into immersive, state-of-the-art environments that provide military personnel from high-level decision makers to theaterdeployed soldiers with the most effective and realistic training available without the expense and logistical problems of live training. The quality and value of our simulation solutions drive a myriad of applications. Like the constructive simulations we ve integrated at Battle Command Training Centers worldwide, and the wide range of simulations we offer for multiple training and operational needs. World-Class Systems Integration. We are one of the world s premier systems integrators. This experience has been instrumental in developing advanced, cost-effective training systems with minimum risk. Leveraging the most sophisticated information, network, sensor and analytic technologies, plus scene generation and technology from the gaming industry, we have successfully integrated LVC simulations into immersive, interactive training environments. The result is training, wargaming, mission, rehearsal and live simulation support tailored to what warfighters and first responders will face in the real world. Training Transformation. General Dynamics Information Technology has a central role in critical training transformation programs. We are the prime contractor for the Joint Advanced Training Technologies Laboratory. The Joint Knowledge Development and Distribution Capability and the Joint Innovation and Experimentation Directorate rely on us for engineering and technical support. We are also committed to the Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) initiative. Since 2000, we have helped advance the evolution of the Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) and have been an industry partner of the Joint ADL Co-Lab. Initiatives like these are the future of training, and General Dynamics Information Technology is helping show the way. Strong learning backed by one of the world s strongest companies.
