23 Criteria Images & Accessibility Non-decorative images have descriptive alternative text (11A). Decorative images have null alternate text (11B). Rationale Alternate text should describe non-decorative images so they re accessible to those who are blind or have visual impairments. Decorative images should have null (alt= ) alternate text so screen readers can skip over unnecessary content.
