2 NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY Course Name: Certificate Course in Web Design Using PHP/MySQL Course Objective: PHP and MYSQL are two of the most popular open source technologies to emerge during the past decade. PHP is a powerful language for writing server-side Web applications. MySQL is the world's most popular open source database. Together, these two technologies provide you with a powerful platform for building database-driven Web applications. PHP is a server scripting language, and a powerful tool for making dynamic and interactive Web pages.php is a widely-used, free, and efficient alternative to competitors such as Microsoft's ASP. Eligibility: 10+2/Diploma/Graduate with basic programming knowledge. Course fees: Rs /- (Including service tax) Career Scope: PHP developer Admission Process: Admission will be taken on First Come First serve basis. There is no fee for SC/ST Candidates (Seats are limited). Reservation for SC/ST as per Govt. of India Norms. Basics of HTML, CSS and introduction to script language 1 Introduction to html and its features, Elements of html tag and attribute, HTML, HEAD, TITLE etc. Properties of HTML tags and its different values / properties. 2 Different types of hyperlinks in html, Using Images In Pages, Hyperlinks Text and Images, Bookmarks, Backgrounds and Color Controls. 3 Creating and Using Tables in HTML, merge rows and columns, split rows and columns, formulas in table. 4 Use of Font Size & Attributes, List Types and its Tags, 5 Creating forms in html with different controls like textbox, radio button, checkbox etc. 6 Creating CSS file and linking CSS to html file, script language basics and WWW. 7 Creating dynamic functionality using VB/Java script, variables. 8 Data types in Script, Alert box, Prompt & confirm. 9 Expressions: Arithmetic operators, Assignment operators, Logical operators, Expressions and precedence 10 Statements: If statement, For statement, While statement, Break/Continue

Basics of PHP and PHP forms Introduction to PHP, basics scope and objective of using PHP, how PHP is different from other programming languages, compatibility with servers etc. Installation and configuration of wamp server Basics syntax of PHP, file extension, use with HTML file. Variable declaration, initialization. Echo and Print statement for display variable values Data types used in PHP- String, Integer, Float (floating point numbers - also called double), Boolean, Array, Object, NULL, Resource. Declaration, initialization, display values of data types. Constants in PHP. 17 Operators for operations on variables and values- Arithmetic operators, Assignment operators, Comparison operators. 18 Increment/Decrement operators, Logical operators, String operators, Array operators. 19 Conditional statements - if statement, if...else statement, if...else if...else statement, switch statement. 20 Looping statements - while, do...while, for, for each PHP in-built function, user defined functions- syntax for create function, define, declare, call function. Connecting to MySQL using MYSQL, MySQLi, PDO, exception handling for connecting database, close connection. 54 Creating database using command or using PHP Admin tools. 55 Creating tables, specify attributes (NOT NULL, DEFAULT value, UNSIGNED, AUTO INCREMENT, PRIMARY KEY) 56 Data types in tables (Text, Memo, Byte, Integer, Long, Single,Double, Currency, AutoNumber, Date/Time, Yes/No,OLE Object, Hyperlink) 57 Insert data in database using MYSQL for integer, character, string, and NULL values, insert multiple values in table. 58 Use of Prepare statement in MYSQL. Select data from table using different clauses in SELECT- WHERE, HAVING, GROUP By, ORDER BY etc. 59 Delete statement to delete selected record, DELETE, parameters, condition to delete selected type of record. Update record using MYSQL statements 60 Alter the table for adding, deleting, modifying columns of tables. Project The students are required to make a project which covers all the basic functionality and features covered in the course under the guidance of faculty. Software development life cycle phases should be followed while making the project and CD of the project will be submitted by students on completion.
