It provides real-time access to data from Agilent test platforms, allowing comprehensive, immediate inf ormation for process analysis, process control, and test/repair effectiveness evaluations. The goal is to produce actionable information for immediate correction of problems and to improve processes, leading to increased yields and lower operating costs. Agilent Quality Tool Quick Overview Custom views, or dashboards, allow you to freely combine 5DX test and SJ inspection platforms and assembly types, and get real-time access to pre- and post-repair quality information, test and repair throughput, work-in-process information, and historical quality information. Since the dashboard provides live views, alarms can be set-up for real-time process control. From any dashboard or historical chart, data can be broken down to actionable items. With just a mo use click, Intelligent Drill Downs gives you an analysis of your data for incredible speed to actionable information. The Agilent Quality Tool offers easy access to data outside the test and repair loops. It exports.csv data for custom report generation and in-depth process analysis based on Agilent test and repair results data. It also includes an XML export tool, a feature of the Intelligent Test Framework, which automatically generates XML files and distributes them enterprise-wide as test or repair actions occur on your Agilent products. 2 Architecture Designed for a Wide View Into The Manufacturing Flow One element in a high-yielding quality and process control system is the ability to leverage the process-rich information available from test and repair to improve assembly efficiencies. Standalone statistical process control (SPC) analysis tools are beneficial for a small window of the process, but combining the data from several test and repair cells can yield much higher returns. A strong, centralized data collection center enables commonality in the data, more efficient data correlation, and better interfacing characteristics with process control tools. See Figure 1. Comprehensive data collection Agilent Intelligent Test Framework -- Centralized Data Storage The powerful software capability of the Agilent Quality Tool provides immediate, actionable feedback to the line engineer or operator, as well as reduced troubleshooting time and assembly downtime. Rather than different, isolated tools for each silo platform, the Agilent Quality Tool uses Agilent s XML-based Intelligent Test Framework for data analysis and real-time defect monitoring capabilities. The Agilent Quality Tool client-server architecture enables a common data store for test and repair results. The architecture supports integrated test and repair analysis across multiple platforms and is scalable to accommodate numerous tools/clients. By giving its SPC capabilities access to data from Agilent Quality Tool Backgrounder 2

3 multiple inspection platforms, the Agilent Quality Tool enables real-time process control leading to more useful, actionable information. The end result is lower cost per assembly and improved first-pass yields. The Agilent Quality Tool can further improve yield by identifying systemic process issues through the tracking of historic quality and defect trends. Custom Views for Easy Access to Information The Agilent Quality Tool architecture defines a view that is comprised of any number of test systems (within a platform type) mapped to any number of assembly types. The operator can create as many of these views as desired. These pre-configured views may typically include one for process control, another for false-call analysis, and a third for test and repair effectiveness and/or throughput. Once a view is created, a series of dashboards are provided for each view containing a logically grouped set of charts organized around a function. All charts feature real-time data and alarming. Also, extensive drill downs are enabled from all top-line dashboard charts. Furthermore, a historical view is provided for each dashboard over a set timeframe. Finally, a spreadsheet export tool is available for more extensive analysis. See Figures 2-4 for examples.
