15 Gartner Endorsement FancyFon is recognized as the BEST rated European MDM vendor on the technical side in the Mobile Device Management Software Magic Quadrant FancyFon BEST product rating in: Software distribution 2nd BEST product rating in: Device diversity Inventory management Delivery model 3rd BEST product rating in: Security & compliance Critical Capabilities for Mobile Device Management, Gartner, ID Number: G
16 Challenge Solution Benefits Reference Case (1) Company: US Government Agency Sector: Government Solution: FAMOC A US government agency required a highly secure mobile device management solution to radically improve the safety of their mobile communications. The agency required a solution: With top quality security features on the server and handsets To introduce a very high level of data security on the handsets, including data encryption, and data auto-destruct policies To ensure that sensitive server data is accessed only via secure channels within their premises To block any services on the phone that might pose a potential threat to security With high scalability The agency selected FancyFon's mobile device management (MDM) solution, FAMOC, providing an unrivalled level of security support across multiple mobile platforms. FAMOC configuration and monitoring tools provide effective protection against threats such as viruses, hacking, tapping conversations, loss of data stored on the phone, or even loss of the device itself. The system ensures secure communication between server and mobile devices, protects stored data, and enables seamless corporate policy deployment with differentiated access rules for groups and shared data, including pre-defined user profiles. After successful test trials, FAMOC was rolled out to provide MDM for several thousand government mobile devices. With FancyFon s MDM solution, the government agency is able to fully control its mobile environment and avoid potential risks. The main advantage of the solution is that the complex processes associated with the appropriate configuration of phones do not affect the end user. FAMOC puts full control into the hands of the administration team, minimizing end-user effort. The administrator has full remote access to the device, and is able to perform bulk operations, and control all of the processes. If a violation to a security policy is detected, the administrator is alerted to the irregularity. In order to fully secure the agency s mobile infrastructure, FAMOC provides: Protected VPN communication Advanced WiFi connectivity based on EAP-TLS encryption, with personal certificates Password and auto-lock policies Device memory and memory card encryption Application installation restrictions Access point, browser, WiFi and Bluetooth restrictions Keep-alive functionality for essential applications OTA wipe policy in cases of lost or stolen devices Encrypted backup/restore sessions
17 Challenge Solution Benefits Reference Case (2) Company: Sanofi Aventis Sector: Healthcare (Pharmaceutical) Solution: FAMOC & SA24 Sanofi Aventis, a multinational pharmaceutical company, wanted to implement a solution enabling the rapid distribution of information and text messages to predefined groups of employees. Additionally, company mobile services were underutilized, and employees were reporting that network and device configuration was too complicated. As a result Sanofi Aventis was looking for a way to boost the usage levels of mobile services used by employees (e.g. network connections, , calendar and corporate address book synchronization). Sanofi Aventis requirements: Support for multiple mobile platforms (on a divers mobile infrastructure) Mass configuration of network connections and , carried out over-the-air, with zero interaction required from the end user Device integration with collaborative software, e. g. Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes/Domino Easy access to shared resources (address book, contact database) with automatic data synchronization Rapid distribution of information and text messages, with the possibility to define bespoke content to different groups of mobile users Sanofi Aventis selected FancyFon s mobile device management solution, FAMOC, enabling centrally managed configuration of telecommunications services (such as , VoIP, SIP, WiFi), and customized personal settings on any number of mobile phones, in real time. Additionally, to address a bespoke requirement from Sanofi Aventis, FancyFon developed a mobile application called SA-24, which fully integrated with the FAMOC platform, and was installed remotely onto each end-users device. The web-based SA-24 is a console that allows messages to be sent by the administrator, supervisor, manager, or another employee. The console creates groups of employees (regional, operational, support), defines users privileges (recipient of content, content editor, the central coordinator), and creates and distributes messages to pre-defined groups of recipients. SA-24 is installed onto each employee handset, to receive, store and also share company information with other colleagues. FAMOC and SA-24 was rolled out to 800 OS-diverse mobile devices within the Sanofi Aventis network. FAMOC has empowered the Sanofi Aventis IT team to take full control of the configuration of mobile services (such as , calendar, and address book synchronization), and no longer requires interaction from the workforce, so that employees can now benefit from the mobile Internet and improve their productivity. Integrated with FAMOC, SA-24 radically improved Sanofi Aventis internal communications, enabling the convenient and rapid distribution of information, directly to end users handsets. Software installation, configuration and updates are now carried out centrally, and any errors or problems that occur on a device can be addressed remotely by an administrator using the FAMOC Remote Access console.
18 Challenge Solution Benefits Reference Case (3) Company: Vodafone Hungary Sector: Telecommunications Solution: FAMOC & Vodafone Pakk Vodafone Hungary, a wireless telecom operator, planned to offer its customers a simple-to-use mobile application, enabling the remote activation of services, facilitating contact with the call-center, and providing remote support for end users. Additionally, there was a requirement for the software to display billing information, and perform data backup and cross-platform data migration. Vodafone required a solution providing multi-os support, intuitive interface, high scalability and easy integration with internal CRM solutions. Vodafone selected FancyFon s award-winning mobile device lifecycle management solution, easily integrating with the operator s internal customer care processes. Using an application installed on Vodafone s end users mobile devices, FAMOC allows the customer base to seamlessly manage their services, access billing information, perform ad-hoc or scheduled data backups, migrate data between devices of different operating platforms, or send a help request for remote troubleshooting directly from their handset, not just when customers are in front of a computer. The implemented software from FancyFon, called Vodafone Pakk, offers the following functionality: Data backup/restore the application provides an intuitive interface for self-service backup sessions, In addition, Pakk supports cross-platform data migration and ensures that end users will never suffer the negative consequences of losing or upgrading a phone.
