4 About AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint, an app for SharePoint 2013, brings order and efficiency to routine activities such as organizational meetings, note-taking, and task assignments. Software Requirements Refer to the sections below for the software requirements for AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint onpremises: Supported SharePoint Versions AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint on-premises supports the following SharePoint versions: SharePoint 2013 on-premises SharePoint 2013 SP1 on-premises *Note: AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint does not support SharePoint Foundation Permissions To install and use AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint on-premises properly, ensure that the following permission requirements are in place: *Note: Only the SharePoint users can run the AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint on-premises installation wizard mentioned below or add AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint on-premises to a SharePoint site. AvePoint Platform Service Installation Wizard The user running the AvePoint Platform Service Installation Wizard must be a member of the local Administrators group. The Platform Service Account (configured in the installation wizard) must be a member of the local Administrators group on the server that the Platform service is being installed on. AvePoint Meetings App Package Installation Wizard The user running the AvePoint Meetings App Package Installation Wizard must have the following permissions: A member of local Administrators group. A member of Farm Administrators group. db_owner database role in SharePoint Configuration database. db_owner database role in the content database of the Web application to which AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint on-premises will be added. At least Edit permission to the app catalog site to which AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint on-premises will be uploaded. 7
8 AvePoint Meetings Website Installation Wizard The user running the AvePoint Meetings Website Installation Wizard must be a member of local Administrators group. The application pool account of the AvePoint Meetings website must be a member of local Administrators group. Adding to a SharePoint Site The user adding AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint on-premises to a SharePoint site must have the following permissions: *Note: System accounts cannot add AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint on-premises to a SharePoint site. Processors A member of Farm Administrators group or local Administrators group. Has Full Control permission to the site to which you are about to add AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint on-premises. Has at least Read permission to the site app catalog site. AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint on-premises must be installed on a server with a dual-core processor (at a minimum). Supported Browsers AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint on-premises supports the following browsers and versions: Internet Explorer 9 or above *Note: Internet Explorer 9 does not support the uploading of multiple attachments at the same time. Mozilla Firefox Google Chrome m Server Communication Make sure the following servers can communicate with one another: If you are installing the AvePoint Meetings app package, AvePoint Meetings website, and the Platform service on different servers, make sure that all of the servers can communicate with one another. Communication is available between the SharePoint farm and the AvePoint Meetings website. Ensure that the Platform service port is available. The default port used by AvePoint Platform service is
9 AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In Requirements The AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In (available in AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint 3.1 and later) is an optional add-in for Microsoft Outlook that synchronizes meetings created in Microsoft Outlook to AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint online or AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint on-premises. For installation instructions, refer to Installing the AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In. Every end-user computer using the AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In must meet the following requirements: Microsoft Outlook 2010 or Microsoft Outlook 2013 is installed on the computer..net Framework Version 4.5 or above is installed on the computer that will host this add-in. The AvePoint_Outlook_Plugin.zip file or the setup.exe of the AvePoint _Meetings_Outlook_AutoUpdate_Plugin.zip has been downloaded and extracted to every end-user computer that will use this add-in. Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office is downloaded and installed on the computers that will host the AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-in. Refer to Installing Visual Studio Installing Visual Studio 2010 To install Visual Studio 2010, follow the steps below. 1. Download the Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office.exe file to the computer where you are about to install AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-in. Download the executable file from the following address: 2. Double-click the Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office.exe file. The extraction process automatically starts. After it completes, the Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Office Runtime 2010 Setup interface appears. 3. Select the I have read and accepted the license terms. checkbox and then click Install. The Installation Progress interface appears. 4. Click Finish when the installation completes. 9
10 Pre- Installation Checklist Ensure that the following items are in place before installing AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint: SharePoint 2013 on-premises is installed on the server that will contain this app. The SharePoint site that will host AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint is created. A User Profile Service Application is created. For more information, refer to the instructions provided here: The following.zip files have been downloaded and extracted to the servers where you want to deploy AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint: o AvePoint_Meetings_App_AppVersionNumber_SerialNumber.zip Download and extract this file to any SharePoint Web front-end server. o o AvePoint_Meetings_Platform_AppVersionNumber_SerialNumber.zip Download and extract this file to any Windows server. AvePoint_Meetings_Website_AppVersionNumber_SerialNumber.zip Download and extract this file to an IIS server that is in the same Active Directory domain as the Web front-end server in the first bullet above. *Note: The AvePoint Meetings app package must be installed in the same Active Directory domain as the AvePoint Meetings website. AvePoint recommends installing the Platform service in the same Active Directory domain as well. To configure ADFS authentication for AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint on-premises, ensure that the following are in place before installing AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint in addition to the items above. o o ADFS authentication is configured in your SharePoint 2013 environment and on the ADFS server. Both Windows authentication and the configured ADFS authentication (Trusted Identity provider) are used by the Web application where you are about to add AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint. 10
11 Preparing the Environment to Host AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint On-Premises Before installing AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint on-premises, the environment should be configured to host AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint. Refer to the instructions in the following sections on how to prepare your environment to host AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint. If your environment is already configured to host apps, skip directly to Verifying App Domain and App Prefix Configuration. *Note: If you have already installed SharePoint apps, these settings may already be configured. Starting SharePoint Service Applications and Instances Setting up an App Catalog Verifying App Domain and App Prefix Configuration 11
12 Starting SharePoint Service Applications and Instances If you have already used apps in your SharePoint 2013 on-premises environment, you can skip this section. *Note: The user who will be performing these steps must be an Active Directory domain user, a member of local Administrators group, a member of the SharePoint Farm Administrators group, with Full Control permission to the Web front-end server, and access to the Site Collection where you are deploying the app. First, perform the following steps to verify that the appropriate services are running: Navigate to Start > All Programs > Microsoft SharePoint 2013 Products > SharePoint 2013 Central Administration. Click Manage service applications under the Application Management heading. Figure 1: Clicking Manage service applications. In the Manage Service Applications page, verify that the following three service applications are created. App Management Service Application Subscription Settings Service Application User Profile Service Application Click System Settings on the left pane. Click Manage services on server under the Servers heading. In the Services on Server interface, verify that the following three service instances are Started. If they are not, click Start. 12
13 App Management Service Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Subscription Settings Service User Profile Service Application If these three service applications do not exist, refer to the following steps to create them through Windows PowerShell. Locate the ConfigServices.ps1 file in the ConfigurationScripts folder under the extracted AvePoint Meetings app package directory. Open this file using Notepad. Configure the SPManagedAccount nodes. Replace AccountName in $account = Get- SPManagedAccount "<AccountName>" with the username of the SharePoint Managed Account. Figure 2: Locate the $account = Get-SPManagedAccount "<AccountName>" node. *Note: You can find the SharePoint Managed Account name by navigating to SharePoint 2013 Central Administration > Security > Configure managed accounts. Save and close the modified file. Navigate to Start > All Programs > Microsoft SharePoint 2013 Products. 13
14 Right-click SharePoint 2013 Management Shell, and then select Run as administrator from the drop-down menu. Figure 3: The SharePoint 2013 Management Shell window pops up. Run & ConfigService.ps1 from the file directory in the SharePoint Management Shell to start the created services. For example, if the directory of the ConfigService.ps1 file is C:\Users\add\Meetings\AvePoint_Meetings_App\ConfigurationScripts\ConfigService.ps1, enter the following command: & C:\Users\add\Meetings\AvePoint_Meetings_App\ConfigurationScripts\ConfigService.ps1 And press Enter to run the script. For more information on how to configure an environment for apps for SharePoint 2013, refer to the instructions provided here: 14
15 Setting up an App Catalog An app catalog site is used to store apps. These apps can be installed on any site under the Web application where the app catalog site resides. Only the members of the Farm Administrators group can view and operate the app catalog site collection. Follow the steps below to configure SharePoint 2013 App catalog: Navigate to Start > All Programs > Microsoft SharePoint 2013 Products > SharePoint 2013 Central Administration. Click Manage App Catalog under the Apps heading. Figure 4: Clicking Manage App Catalog under the Apps heading. In the Manage App Catalog page, select the Web application where you are about to create the app catalog site. 15
16 Select Create a new app catalog site. Then, click OK. The Create App Catalog page appears. Figure 5: Selecting Create a new app catalog site. Configure the necessary settings for creating a new app catalog site. a. Enter a title for the App Catalog site in the Title text box. b. In the Description text box, enter the description for the site. c. In the URL text box, enter the URL to use for the site. d. In the User Name text box of the Primary Site Collection Administrator section, enter the user who will manage the catalog. *Note: Only one user name can be entered. Security groups are not supported. e. In the Users/Groups text box of the End Users section, enter the names of the users or groups that can browse the catalog. *Note: Added users or groups have read access to the App Catalog site. You can add multiple user names and security groups. Users must be added as End Users to be able to browse the App Catalog from their site collections. However, if users want to add the app to their sites, these users must be farm administrators by default. f. In the Select a quota template drop-down list, select the quota template to use for the site. g. Click OK to create the app catalog site. 16
17 Verifying App Domain and App Prefix Configuration Before installing AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint, the App domain and App prefix must be configured (if they were not configured previously). Complete the following steps to verify the App domain and App prefix: In the SharePoint 2013 server where you are about to install AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint, navigate to Start > All Programs > Microsoft SharePoint 2013 Products > SharePoint 2013 Central Administration. Click Apps on the left pane. Click Configure App URLs under the App Management heading. The Configure App URLs interface appears. Figure 6: The Configure App URLs interface appears. If the App domain and App prefix text boxes have values in them, then the App domain and App prefix are already configured. If the text boxes are empty, configure the App domain and App prefix following the instructions provided in the Configure the app URLs to use section of this article: 17
18 Configuring ADFS Authentication for AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint On-Premises Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) authentication simplifies access to systems and applications using a claims-based access (CBA) authorization mechanism to maintain application security. ADFS authentication supports Web single-sign-on (SSO) technologies that help information technology organizations collaborate across organizational boundaries. Installed in the SharePoint 2013 onpremises environment with ADFS authentication configured, AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint can be accessed by users in the ADFS server domain (a domain that is separated from that of AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint). *Note: The properties of users who want to access AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint must be configured in the domain controller (the server where Active Directory Manager is installed). Preparing the ADFS Environment for AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint Before installing AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint on a SharePoint 2013 environment that has ADFS authentication configured, the environment should be properly configured. For details, refer to Preparing the Environment to Host and Configuring ADFS Authentication for AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint. *Note: If you have already installed SharePoint apps, proceed directly to Configuring ADFS Authentication for AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint. Configuring ADFS Authentication for AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint After getting the SharePoint 2013 environment ready for hosting AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint, refer to the sections below to configure the ADFS authentication in the environment for AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint. Configuring User Profile Synchronization If the users in the domain where the ADFS server resides want to access AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint in another domain, the properties of these users must be synchronized to the SharePoint 2013 environment that has AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint installed. *Note: To synchronize the properties of these users, the properties for these users must be properly configured in the domain controller of the domain where the ADFS server resides. 18
19 Refer to the sections below to synchronize the properties of the specific users to the SharePoint 2013 environment. Starting the User Profile Synchronization Service Complete the following steps to start the user profile synchronization service: 1. Navigate to Start > All Programs > Microsoft SharePoint 2013 Products > SharePoint 2013 Central Administration. 2. Click Manage service on server under the System Settings heading. Figure 7: Clicking Manage service on server under the System Settings heading. 3. In the Services on Server interface, locate the User Profile Synchronization Service and click Start. The User Profile Synchronization Service interface appears. 4. Select the user profile service you are about to synchronize data to from the Select the User Profile Service drop-down list. 5. Enter the password and the confirm password for the loaded service account. Click OK to start the User Profile Synchronization Service. *Note: The Forefront Identity Manager Service and Forefront Identity Manager Synchronization Service will be automatically started along with the user profile synchronization service, which may take at least 10 minutes. Please do not start these two services manually during the startup process. After starting the user profile synchronization service, execute the IISReset cmdlet to restart the IIS service. Configuring Synchronization Connections Complete the following steps to configure the synchronization connections: 1. Navigate to Application Management > Manage service application. In the SERVICE APPLCIATIONS interface, click the user profile service you selected in the User Profile Synchronization Service interface. The Manage Profile Service interface appears. 19
20 2. Click Configure Synchronization Connections in the Synchronization section. In the pop-up Synchronization Connection interface, click Create New Connection. In the Add new synchronization connection interface, configure the following settings: Connection Name Enter the connection name in the Connection Name field. Type Select Active Directory as the type of the source data to be synchronized. Connection Settings Complete the following settings in the Connection Settings field. o o o o Forest Name Enter the domain where the ADFS server resides, and then select Specify a domain controller. Domain controller name Enter the full computer name of the server where the domain controller of the entered domain resides. *Note: The domain controller must be added as a host in DNS Manager or the hosts file and the added host must direct to the server where the domain controller resides. For more instructions about how to add a host in DNS, refer to Adding a Host in DNS for. Authentication Provider type Select Trusted Claims Provider Authentication as the authentication provider type, and then select the employed trusted identity provider of the Web application where you are about to add AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint. Account name Enter the account name. *Note: The entered account must be a member of the Domain Admins group in the domain where the ADFS server resides. o o o Password Enter the corresponding password for the entered account. Confirm password Enter the password again. Port Keep the default value 389 for this setting. Containers Click Populate Containers and then the entered domain is loaded in the table. Expand the tree and select the users whose attribute you are about to synchronize, or the Organization Units these users reside from the tree. 20
21 *Note: Make sure that the property of the selected users are properly configured in the domain controller of the domain where the ADFS server resides. Figure 9: Selecting users or organization units from the domain tree. Click OK to create the configured connection. Mapping the User Profile Properties Complete the following steps to map the user profile properties: 1. Navigate to Application Management > Manage service application. In the SERVICE APPLCIATIONS interface, click the user profile service you selected to synchronize the source data to. The Manage Profile Service interface appears. 22 2. Click Manage User Properties in the People section. The Manage User Properties interface appears. Figure 11: The Manage User Properties interface appears. 3. Select the Claim User Identifier property and click Edit. The Edit User Profile Property interface appears. 4. In the Add New Mapping field, select the corresponding attribute from the Attribute dropdown list. This attribute must be the one the IdentifierClaim attribute is mapped to when you created the Trusted Identity Provider during your ADFS configuration process. 5. Click OK to save the configurations and go back to the Manage User Properties interface. 6. Select the Work property and click Edit. The Edit User Profile Property interface appears. 7. In the Property Mapping for Synchronization field, click Remove to delete the existing mapping. 8. In the Add New Mapping field, select mail from the Attribute drop-down list. 9. Click OK to save the configurations. 22
23 Starting the Profile Synchronization Complete the following steps to start the profile synchronization: 1. Navigate to Application Management > Manage service application. In the SERVICE APPLCIATIONS interface, click the selected user profile service where you are about to synchronize the source data. The Manage Profile Service interface appears. Figure 12: The Manage Profile Service interface appears. 2. Click Start Profile Synchronization in the Synchronization section. The Start Profile Synchronization interface appears. 3. Click Start Full Synchronization to start a full synchronization. 4. Click OK to start the synchronization and go back to the Manager User Profile interface. The synchronization information is displayed in the Manager User Profile interface. Refresh the page to view the synchronization progress. When the synchronization process finishes, the Profile Synchronization Status will be displayed as Idle. Figure 13: The Profile Synchronization Status is displayed as Idle. 23
24 Verifying the Profile Synchronization Complete the following steps to verify whether the user profiles are successfully synchronized to the specific user profile service. 1. Navigate to Application Management > Manage service application. In the SERVICE APPLCIATION interface, click the user profile service where you have synchronized the source data. The Manage Profile Service interface appears. Figure 14: The Manage Profile Service interface appears. 2. Click Manage User Profiles in the People section. The Manage User Profiles interface appears. Figure 15: The Manage User Profiles interface appears. 3. Enter one of the users whose user profiles you synchronized to the specific user profile service in the Find profiles text box and then click Find. Verify whether the address property of the entered user has the corresponding value in the search results. *Note: If you are about to synchronize properties of more users in the domain where the ADFS server resides, edit the created synchronization connection, select these users in the loaded domain tree and then run the profile synchronization again. For more information, refer to Configuring Synchronization Connections and Starting the Profile Synchronization. 24
25 Configure an ADFS Relying Party Trust Refer to the sections below to configure an ADFS relying party trust for AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint you are about to install. Adding a Relying Party Trust Complete the following steps to add a relying party trust: 1. Navigate to Start > All Programs > Administrative Tools > AD FS 2.0 Management. Figure 16: The AD FS 2.0 window pops up. 2. Expand the Trust Relationships node on the left pane and select the Relying Party Trusts node. 3. In the Actions pane, click Add Relying Party Trust and the Add Relying Party Trust Wizard appears. 4. In the Welcome interface, click Start to start this wizard. The Select Data Source interface appears. Click Enter data about the relying party manually, and then click Next. 25
26 5. In the Specify Display Name interface, enter the display name for the relying party. 6. Click Next and the Choose Profile interface appears. Select AD FS 2.0 profile as the configuration file for the relying party. Figure 17: Selecting AD FS 2.0 profile as the configuration file to the relying party. 7. Click Next to proceed to the Configure URL interface. 8. Click the Enable support for the WS-Federation Passive protocol checkbox. The app redirect URL entered here will be employed when installing AvePoint Meetings app package. *Note: If the port number you are about to use for AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint is 443, which is the default port, you can either omit the port number in the text box and enter the Relying Party WS-Federation Passive protocol URL in the format of or enter the Relying Party WS-Federation Passive protocol URL in the format of without omitting the port number. 9. 27 10. In the Configure Identifiers interface, enter the relying party trust identifier in the following format: aaa:bbb:ccc. For example, urn:sharepoint:contoso. Click Add. *Note: The relying party trust identifier name you entered here will be employed when installing the AvePoint Meetings website. 11. Click Next. Configuring the Claim Rule Complete the following steps to configure a claim rule for AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint you are about to install. 1. In the Issuance Transform Rules tab, click Add Rule. The Add Transform Claim Rule Wizard appears. 2. Complete the following settings to add a claim role: 28

31 Adding the Token-signing Certificate as a Trusted Certificate Before the specified users in the ADFS server domain access AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint in the SharePoint site, the token-signing certificate of ADFS server must be added as a trusted certificate to the server where the AvePoint Meetings website resides. Refer to the sections below for more information: Export the Token-signing Certificate from ADFS server Adding the Exported Certificate as a Trusted Certificate Export the Token-signing Certificate from ADFS server To add the token-signing certificate as a trusted certificate to another server, you must export this certificate from the ADFS server first. Complete the following steps to export the token-signing certificate: 1. Log into the server that has ADFS server installed. Navigate to Start > All Programs > Administrative Tools > AD FS 2.0 Management. Figure 22: The AD FS 2.0 window pops up. 31
32 2. On the left pane, expand the Service node and select the Certificates node. The Certificates pane appears. Figure 23: The Certificates pane appears. 3. In the pop-up Save as window, enter a name for this exported file. Click Save. 9. Click Next to proceed to next step. 10. 34 Adding the Exported Certificate as a Trusted Certificate Complete the following steps to add the exported token-signing certificate as a trusted certificate to the server where you are about to install the AvePoint Meetings website, or that already has AvePoint Meetings website installed: 1. Log into the server where you are about to install the AvePoint Meetings website or that already has AvePoint Meetings website installed. 2. Copy the exported token-signing certificate to this server. 3. Click Start on the desktop and enter mms as the keyword to search for the mmc.exe file. 4. 35 5. Click File on the ribbon, and then select Add/Remove Snap-in from the drop-down menu. The Add or Remove Snap-ins interface appears. 6. Keep the default settings to proceed to the Completing the Certificates Import Wizard interface. Click Finish to exit this wizard. 15. Expand the Trusted Root Certification Authorities folder node and right-click the Certificates folder node that appears. Repeat the steps above to import the exported token-signing certificate into the Certificates folder under the Trusted Root Certification Authorities folder. 36
37 Installing AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint On- Premises Before you begin with installation, ensure that you have met all of the prerequisites listed in AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint On-Premises System Requirements. The AvePoint Meetings app package must be installed in the same Active Directory domain as that of the AvePoint Meetings website. AvePoint recommends installing the Platform service in the same Active Directory domain as well. AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint installation consists of the following steps, which must be completed in order. Running the AvePoint Meetings App Package Installation Wizard Run this wizard on any SharePoint Web front-end server. Running the AvePoint Platform Service Installation Wizard Run this wizard on any Windows server. Running the AvePoint Meetings Website Installation Wizard Run this wizard on an IIS server that is in the same Active Directory domain as the Web frontend server in step 1 above. Adding to a SharePoint Site Installing the AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In (an optional step) Install this add-in on end-user computers. Running the AvePoint Meetings App Package Installation Wizard This wizard generates a.cer certificate (which establishes trust between a SharePoint site and the AvePoint Meetings application website), verifies that all of the prerequisite services and service applications have been started, registers the AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint information in SharePoint, and uploads the AvePoint Meetings app package to the selected app catalog site. To use AvePoint Meetings App Package Installation Wizard, complete the following steps: Go to the directory where you extracted the AvePoint_Meetings_App_AppVersionNumber_ SerialNumber.zip file. Right-click the Setup.exe file and then select Run as administrator to run this wizard. 37
38 In the Welcome page, select Upload a new AvePoint Meetings app package in the Welcome page and click Next to proceed to the next step. Select the I accept the terms in the license agreement. checkbox, and then click Next. In the Certificate Configuration interface, you can choose to import an existing.pfx certificate, or create a new certificate. To import an existing.pfx certificate, select Import an Existing Certificate and then complete the following steps: Figure 29: Selecting Import an Existing Certificate in the Certificate Configuration interface. i. Click Browse to upload an existing.pfx certificate file. ii. In the popped up window, locate the.pfx certificate file, and then click Open to upload it. iii. Enter the password of the uploaded certificate file in the Password text box. 38
39 To create a new.pfx certificate, select Create a New Certificate. A pop-up window appears to inform you that AvePoint does not recommend you create a new certificate in the production environment for the security reasons. Click OK to create a new certificate anyway. Enter the password and the confirm password in the corresponding text boxes, and then click Next. Click Next to proceed to the next step. In the App Catalog Site Configuration interface, select a Web application from the drop-down list. If the app catalog site already exists in the selected Web application, the URL of this site will be displayed in this page. 40 If the app catalog site does not exist in the selected Web application, click Create a new app catalog site. A pop-up window appears. Figure 32: Clicking Create a new app catalog site. i. Click the Manage App Catalog link in the pop-up window. The SharePoint Manage App Catalog interface appears. ii. Create an app catalog site for the selected Web application. For more information on how to create an app catalog site, refer to Setting up an App Catalog. iii. Return to the wizard, click Close to close the pop-up window. iv. Click Refresh. v. Select the previously selected Web application again. The newly created app catalog site is displayed on GUI. *Note: The AvePoint Meetings App Package Installation Wizard uploads the AvePoint Meetings app package to one app catalog site collection. You must run this wizard again if you want to upload the AvePoint Meetings app package to another app catalog site collection. Click Next to proceed to the next step. The wizard automatically starts checking whether or not the environment has met the prerequisites for installing AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint. For more information on how to 40
41 configure the SharePoint environment for hosting AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint, refer to Preparing the Environment to Host. Figure 33: Checking rules in the Service Authentication interface. After the check is finished, click Next to proceed to the next step. If you failed to scan the rules, make sure the environment meets the installation rules first, and then click Rescan to scan again. Specify the hostname and the port for AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint in the App Redirect URL text box following the format of Hostname:Port. For example: avepointmeetings: If the port number you are about to use is 443, do not enter port number in the text box. For example: avepointmeetings *Note: To configure ADFS authentication for AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint, in the App Redirect URL text box, enter the app redirect URL you configured for AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint when adding the relying party trust. For more information, refer to Adding a Relying Party Trust. *Note: The host must be added in DNS Manager or the hosts file and direct to the computer where AvePoint Meetings website you are about to install resides. The port specified here will be used as the port of the AvePoint Meetings website. Complete the following steps to add the host in the hosts file: a. Click Run from the Start menu. b. Enter drivers in the text box. c. Open the etc folder. 41
42 d. Open the hosts file using Notepad. e. Enter the IP address in the left pane, press Tab on the keyboard twice, and then enter the hostname in the right pane. f. Save the changes and close the hosts file. Click Next to proceed to the next step. In the Installation Summary interface, the configuration information is listed for you to make sure if anything you configured is incorrect. Click Next to proceed to the next step. Figure 34: The Installation Summary interface appears. The wizard automatically starts installing the AvePoint Meetings app package. During the installation, a pop-up window appears to confirm whether or not you want to restart IIS service. Click Restart Now to restart the IIS service immediately or click Restart Later to manually restart it later. In the Complete interface, click Copy to copy the Issuer ID. This will be used when adding AvePoint Meetings website. A report containing your app package configuration information will be generated automatically after the installation. Click the link in the Report Location field to navigate to the folder where this report resides. Click Finish to exit this wizard. 42
43 Running the AvePoint Platform Service Installation Wizard AvePoint Platform for App Service (abbreviated as Platform service) transfers data between AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint and SharePoint. Complete the following steps to install the Platform service: Go to the directory where you extracted the AvePoint_Meetings_Platform_AppVersionNumber_ SerialNumber.zip file. Right-click the Setup.exe file and then select Run as administrator to run this wizard. In the Welcome page, click Next to proceed to the next step. Select the I accept the terms in the license agreement. checkbox, and then click Next. In the Installation Location interface, click Browse to locate a place to install this service. In the Service Configuration interface, configure the following settings: 43
44 Platform Service Account Configure the user you are about to use as the Log On As user of the Platform service by entering the username and password in the corresponding text boxes. Platform Service Port Enter the port that will be used by the Platform service. Authentication Select the authentication method to communicate between the AvePoint Platform service and AvePoint Meetings website. HTTPS is recommended and selected by default. o o HTTP Select HTTP as the authentication method to communicate between the AvePoint Platform service and AvePoint Meetings website. HTTPS Select HTTPS as the authentication method to communicate between the AvePoint Platform service and AvePoint Meetings website. Click Next to proceed to the next step. Certificate file (.pfx) Click Browse and select a certificate to set up a trusted connection between the AvePoint Platform service and AvePoint Meetings website. Password Enter the password of the certificate. 44

In the server where the Platform service is installed, select Run from the Start menu. b. Enter services.msc in the text box. c. Click OK to open it. The Services interface appears. d. Locate the AvePoint Platform for App Service. If this service exists, then the service was successfully installed. 45
46 Running the AvePoint Meetings Website Installation Wizard Because AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint is a Provider-Hosted app, this wizard creates a stand-alone website during installation. Once the app is installed, a user can click the AvePoint Meetings icon in any SharePoint 2013 site where AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint is configured to be redirected to this website. Follow the steps below to run this wizard: Go to the directory where you extracted the AvePoint_Meetings_Website_AppVersionNumber_ SerialNumber.zip file. *Note: If you are about to install more websites on the Network load balance cluster for the AvePoint Meetings website load balance function, copy and extract the AvePoint_Meetings_Website_AppVersionNumber_SerialNumber.zip file to any SharePoint Web front-end server that resides in the Network load balance cluster and does not have AvePoint Meetings website installed. Right-click the Setup.exe file and then select Run as administrator to run this wizard. In the Welcome page, click Next to proceed to the next step. Select the I accept the terms in the license agreement. checkbox, then click Next. This wizard automatically starts scanning the installation rules. If you failed to scan the rules, make sure the environment meets the installation rules first, and then click Rescan to scan again. IIS Service Version IIS 7 or IIS 8.Net Framework Version 4.5 or above In the Certificate Configuration interface, click Browse to upload the.pfx certificate file used in the AvePoint Meetings App Package Installation Wizard. Enter the password of the uploaded.pfx certificate file, then click Next. In the Platform Service Configuration interface, configure the following settings: Platform Service Address Enter the IP address or the hostname of the server where the Platform service has been installed. Platform Service Port Enter the port of the Platform service. Authentication Select the authentication method that you selected when installing the Platform service. HTTPS is selected by default. *Note: The IP address or the hostname of the server where the Platform service has been installed, the Platform service port, and the authentication method must be the same one configured when installing the Platform service. Click Next to proceed to the next step. 47

Website Name Enter a name for your website if you want to use a different name than the one in the Website Name text box. Website Host Name This is optional. Select the Website Host Name checkbox to enter the hostname for your website. The hostname must be the same as the hostname specified in the AvePoint Meetings App Package Installation Wizard. For example, if you specify avepointmeetings:20000 in the AvePoint Meetings App Package Installation Wizard, enter avepointmeetings in this text box. Physical Path Enter a physical path for your website if you want to use a different path than the one in the Physical Path text box. Port Enter a port number for your website if you want to use a different port than the one in the Port text box. The port must be the same as the port specified in the AvePoint Meetings App Package Installation Wizard. For example, if you specify avepointmeetings:20000 in the AvePoint Meetings App Package Installation Wizard, enter in this text box. Website Application Pool Enter the name for the application pool of your website if you want to use a different name than the one in the Website Application Pool text box. Username/Password Enter the username and password for your website. *Note: The user configured here must be a member of the local Administrators group. 48
49 After you finished configuring these settings, click Next to proceed to the next step. Enter the Issuer ID in the text box, and then click Next. The Issuer ID must be the same as the one generated in the AvePoint Meetings App Package Installation Wizard. For more information, refer to Running the AvePoint Meetings App Package Installation Wizard. *Note: If you forget the Issuer ID, go to the AvePoint\AvePoint Meetings\Report directory and find the Installation report for Meetings app file. Open this file and find what the Issuer ID is. *Note: If there are websites installed on other SharePoint Web front-end servers in the specific Network load balance cluster, you can find the Issuer ID in the following ways. Go to the AvePoint\AvePoint Meetings\Report directory on the server in the Network load balance cluster with AvePoint Meetings app package installed. Find the Installation report for Meetings app file. Open this file and find what the Issuer ID is. Go to the \AvePoint\AvePoint Meetings\AvePoint WebSite directory on any server in the Network load balance cluster with AvePoint Meetings website installed. Find the Web.config file and locate the <add key="issuerid" value="" /> node. The value of the node is the issuer ID generated in your AvePoint Meetings App Package Installation Wizard. 50 In the Advanced interface, to configure the website load balance, select the Configure Website Load Balance checkbox and then complete the following settings. SQL Server Name Enter the SQL server you specified when updating the websites. *Note: Make sure that the entered SQL server is able to connect to the current SharePoint Web front-end server. Database Name Enter the database you specified as the data transfer center when updating the websites. *Note: The website application pool account you entered in the Website Configuration interface must have db_owner database role in the entered database. Authentication Select an authentication method from the Authentication drop-down list. Username Enter the username to connect to the entered SQL server. *Note: The entered user must have at least db_creator server role in the entered SQL server. Password Enter the password of the specified account. 50
51 To configure ADFS authentication for AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint, select the Configure AD FS Authentication checkbox to enable this function. Full Computer Name (AD FS Server) Enter the full computer name of the server where the ADFS server resides. Trusted Identity Provider Name Enter the trusted identity provider used by the Web application where you are about to add AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint. 51

Custom Select this option if you want to use a different Exchange Service URL to send an notification when creating or editing a meeting. Enter a different Exchange Service URL in the text box below. Retrieve Automatically Select this option if you do not want to configure the Exchange Service URL in the installation process. With this option selected, the Exchange Service URL will be retrieved automatically when you create or edit a meeting. Click Next to proceed to the next step. 52

54 Adding to a SharePoint Site Next, AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint on-premises will be added from the app catalog site to any SharePoint site under the same Web application where the app catalog site resides. *Note: System accounts cannot add AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint to SharePoint sites. Navigate to the SharePoint site where you want to install AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint. Click the Settings ( ) button on the top right corner of the site, and then click Add an app. Or, navigate to the Site Contents page and click add an app. The Your Apps page appears. Figure 46: The Your Apps page appears. In the Quick Launch, click From Your Organization to add AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint from App Catalog. 54
55 Enter AvePoint Meetings in the Find an app search text box, and then press Enter. Click AvePoint Meetings. To learn more about AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint, click App Details. Seven lists will be created automatically after you enter the AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint page. *Note: To avoid unknown exceptions, it s not recommended to modify the data in the created lists. 55
56 Installing AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint On- Premises in a Network Load Balanced Cluster To install AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint in a network load balanced cluster, make sure that you have met the prerequisites provided in System Requirements. There are two ways to install AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint in a network load balanced cluster: Install the AvePoint Meetings app package on any network load balanced cluster node, install the Platform service on a server that does not belong to the load balanced cluster, and then install the AvePoint Meetings website on each network load balanced cluster node. For more information, refer to Installation Option A. Install the AvePoint Meetings app package on any network load balanced cluster node, and then install the Platform service and AvePoint Meetings website on each load balanced cluster node. For more information, refer to Installation Option B. *Note: After installing the AvePoint Meetings app package, Platform service, and website, you will add a host in DNS for the AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint direct URL. This is explained in Adding a Host in DNS for. Installation Option A Complete the following steps to install AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint in a network load balanced cluster: Install AvePoint Meetings app package on a SharePoint server in the network load balanced cluster. For more information, refer to Running the AvePoint Meetings App Package Installation Wizard. Install the Platform service on a server that does not belong to the network load balanced cluster. For more information, refer to Running the AvePoint Platform Service Installation Wizard. *Note: Make sure that this server can normally access the SharePoint sites where AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint resides. Install AvePoint Meetings website on each SharePoint server in the network load balanced cluster. For more information, refer to Running the AvePoint Meetings Website Installation Wizard. *Note: In the Platform Service Configuration interface, enter the IP address and the port of the Platform service installed in step 2 above. 56

Install AvePoint Meetings website on each SharePoint server in the network load balanced cluster. Adding a Host in DNS for AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint On- Premises On the domain controller machine, complete the following steps to add a host in DNS for AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint: Navigate to Start > Administrative Tools > DNS. The DNS Manager interface appears. Expand the Forward Lookup Zones node. Locate the corresponding domain under the Forward Lookup Zones node. For example, if the app redirect URL is meetings.contosoapps.com, locate ContosoApps.com under the Forward Lookup Zones node. Right-click at the corresponding domain node, and then select New Host (A or AAAA) from the drop-down menu. In the appeared New Host pop-up window, 58
59 a. Enter the host in the Name (uses parent domain name if blank) text box. For example, if the app redirect URL is meetings.contosoapps.com, enter meetings in the text box. 60 Configuring AvePoint Meetings Website Load Balance After the AvePoint Meetings website load balance is properly configured, the followings are supported: The scalability and availability of AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint on-premises will be largely enhanced by distributing network traffic in each website. Multiple attendees accessing a meeting via different websites can successfully receive the synchronous data, including updates during the meeting. Pre-requirements Before configuring AvePoint Meetings website load balance, make sure that the followings are in place: AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint on-premises has been properly installed on a Network load balance cluster. The AvePoint_Meetings_Website_AppVersionNumber_SerialNumber.zip file has been downloaded and extracted to the SharePoint Web front-end servers that reside in the Network load balance cluster and have AvePoint Meetings websites installed. Then, go to Updating AvePoint Meetings Website to configure the AvePoint Meetings website load balance by updating your AvePoint Meetings websites. Repeat the steps in Updating AvePoint Meetings Website to update the other websites installed on the Network load balance cluster. You must use the same database for the update of each AvePoint Meetings website. After properly updating all your AvePoint Meetings websites installed on the Network load balance cluster, the AvePoint Meetings website load balance is successfully configured. If you want to install more websites on other SharePoint Web front-end servers in the specific Network load balance cluster for the AvePoint Meetings website load balance function, refer to Running the AvePoint Meetings Website Installation Wizard. After installing AvePoint Meetings websites on the specific Network load balance cluster, apply the AvePoint Meetings license for each installed website when the free 30-day trial has expired. 60
61 Installing the AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In The AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In (available in AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint 3.1 and later) is an optional add-in for Microsoft Outlook that synchronizes meetings created in Microsoft Outlook to AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint in SharePoint on-premises site or SharePoint Online sites. Before installing the AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In, ensure that you have met all of the prerequisites listed in AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In Requirements. To add the AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In to Microsoft Outlook, complete the following steps: Go to the directory where you extracted the AvePoint_Outlook_Plugin.zip file or the setup.exe file of the AvePoint _Meetings_Outlook_AutoUpdate_Plugin.zip. *Note: Go to to download the setup.exe file of the AvePoint _Meetings_Outlook_AutoUpdate_Plugin.zip. Click the setup.exe file in the extracted folder. The Microsoft Office Customization Installer pop-up window appears. *Note: AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In will be installed automatically if you click the setup.exe file of the AvePoint _Meetings_Outlook_AutoUpdate_Plugin.zip. View the Name, From, and Publisher of AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In, and then click Install to start the installation. After the installation successfully completes, click Close. Restart Microsoft Outlook to load the add-in: a. Locate Microsoft Outlook on your system, and then simultaneously press Shift on the keyboard and double-click Microsoft Outlook to open it. b. After Microsoft Outlook opens and loads, close Microsoft Outlook. c. Proceed to the next section to activate your add-in. *Note: If you have installed the AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In by clicking the setup.exe file of the AvePoint _Meetings_Outlook_AutoUpdate_Plugin.zip, when there is a latest version of AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In, it will be updated automatically when the Microsoft Outlook is opened. 61
62 Activating the Installed AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In After installing the AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In, activate the installation by completing the following steps: After closing Microsoft Outlook (as described in the last step of the previous section), re-open the application. Navigate to File > Options > Add-Ins. Figure 52: Navigating to File > Options > Add-Ins. Verify whether or not AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In is under the Active Application Addins heading of the Add-ins field. If AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In is under the Active Application Add-ins heading, the AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In is successfully installed on your Microsoft Outlook. If AvePoint Meetings Outlook PlugIn is under the Inactive Application Add-ins heading, complete the following steps to re-install it: 62

Select AvePoint Meetings Outlook PlugIn from the Add-Ins available field, and then click Remove to remove it. The AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In is removed from your Microsoft Outlook. iv. Open the Control Panel, click Uninstall a program to uninstall AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In from your computer. v. Select AvePoint Meetings Outlook PlugIn, and then click Uninstall to uninstall it. vi. Follow the steps in Installing the AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In to install the add-in again. vii. If the same issue still occurs after you have tried again, contact an AvePoint representative for help. 63
64 If AvePoint Meetings Outlook Plug-In is under the Disabled Application Add-ins heading, complete the following steps to enable it. i. 66 Applying an AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint License When the free 30-day trial has expired, follow the steps below to apply a Demo license or a purchased Pro license to continue using AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint. *Note: The steps for applying a Demo license and a Pro license are the same. Log into the AvePoint Meetings Home Page. Click the Settings ( ) button on the top right corner of the site and select License Manager from the drop-down menu. Click Upload to upload a Demo license file or a purchased Pro license file. *Note: For AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint on-premises, start from this step directly. 67 In the pop-up window, locate the license file, and then click Open to upload the file. The detailed information will be displayed in the corresponding fields as shown in the screenshot below. When the SharePoint page appears, it indicates that the license was successfully applied to AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint. Click Go back to Meetings to go to the AvePoint Meetings Home Page. To view the details of the applied license, complete the following steps: Click the Settings ( ) button on the top right corner of the site, and then select License Manager from the drop-down menu. The License Manager page appears. If you have already applied a license, click Show Current License Information. The details of the applied license will display. If desired, you can click Upload to upload a Demo license file or a purchased Pro license file. 67
68 Updating AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint On- Premises If updating AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint from 3.0 to the current version, AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint can be updated just like any other SharePoint app. However, if you are updating from AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint 2.x to AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint 3.x, you will need to uninstall your AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint 2.x instance and perform a completely new install of the latest version. Note that if uninstalling AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint, any previous configurations and settings from AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint 2.x will need to be redone in the latest version. The sections below explain how to perform a direct update of AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint 3.x to the current version. *Note: The AvePoint Meetings app package, Platform service and website cannot be updated if you already have the latest version of AvePoint Meetings installed or you re running a custom build of the app. Updating the AvePoint Meetings App Package To update the AvePoint Meetings app package, complete the following steps: Go to the directory where you extracted the AvePoint_Meetings_App_AppVersionNumber_ SerialNumber.zip file. Right-click the Setup.exe file and then select Run as administrator to run this wizard. On the Welcome page, select Update an existing AvePoint Meetings app package. Click Next to proceed to the next step. Select the I accept the terms in the license agreement. checkbox, and then click Next. In the App Catalog Site Configuration interface, select from the drop-down list a Web application that has the AvePoint Meetings app package. *Note: If you already have the latest version of AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint installed or you re running a custom build of the app, there will be an error message in this step and the app package cannot be updated. Click Next to proceed to the next step. The wizard automatically updates the AvePoint Meetings app package. After the update completes, click Finish to exit this wizard. 68
69 Updating the AvePoint Platform Service To update the AvePoint Platform service, complete the following steps: Go to the directory where you extracted the AvePoint_Meetings_Platform_AppVersionNumber_ SerialNumber.zip file. Right-click the Setup.exe file and then select Run as administrator to run this wizard. In the Welcome page, click Next. Select the I accept the terms in the license agreement. checkbox, and then click Next. In the Certificate Configuration interface, you can change the authentication method used to communicate between the AvePoint Platform service and AvePoint Meetings website. If you select HTTPS as the authentication method, click Browse and select a certificate to set up a trusted connection between the AvePoint Platform service and AvePoint Meetings website, and then enter the password of the certificate. HTTPS is recommended and selected by default. The wizard automatically updates the AvePoint Platform service. After the update completes, click Finish to exit this wizard. Updating AvePoint Meetings Website If you are about to change the authentication method from HTTP to HTTPS, make sure the AvePoint Platform service is already updated before updating AvePoint Meetings website. To update the AvePoint Meetings website, complete the following steps: Go to the directory where you extracted the AvePoint_Meetings_Website_AppVersionNumber_ SerialNumber.zip file. Right-click the Setup.exe file and then select Run as administrator to run this wizard. In the Welcome page, click Next. Select the I accept the terms in the license agreement. checkbox, then click Next. In the Platform Service Configuration interface, select the authentication method that you selected when updating the Platform service. HTTPS is selected by default. 69
70 In the Advanced interface, to configure the website load balance, select the Configure Website Load Balance checkbox and then complete the following settings. SQL Server Name Enter the SQL server where the database that you are about to use as the data transfer center resides. *Note: Make sure that the entered SQL server is able to connect to the current SharePoint Web front-end server. Database Name Enter a database you are about to use as the data transfer center. *Note: If the entered database does not exist in the SQL server entered in the SQL Server Name field, a pop-up window will appear to ask whether you want to create a new database. Click Create, a new database with the entered database name will be created in the entered SQL Server during the update process. *Note: The application pool account of the current website must have db_owner database role in the entered database, whether it is an existing database or a newly created one. Authentication Select an authentication method from the Authentication drop-down list. Username Enter the username to connect to the entered SQL server. *Note: The entered user must have at least db_creator server role in the entered SQL server. 70
71 Password Enter the password of the specified account. To configure ADFS authentication for AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint, select the Configure AD FS Authentication checkbox to enable this function. Complete the following settings to configure ADFS authentication for your AvePoint Meetings Website: Figure 59: Selecting the Configure AD FS Authentication checkbox. Relying Party Trust Identifier Enter the relying party trust identifier specified when adding the relying party trust. For more information, refer to Adding a Relying Party Trust. *Note: Enter the relying party trust identifier in the following format: aaa:bbb:ccc. For example, urn:sharepoint:contoso. Full Computer Name (AD FS Server) Enter the full computer name of the server where the ADFS server resides. Trusted Identity Provider Name Enter the trusted identity provider used by the Web application where you are about to add AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint. 71

Password Enter the corresponding password of the address. To configure the Exchange Service URL to send an notification when creating or editing a meeting, complete the following settings: Use the Same Exchange Service URL Select this option if you want to use the same Exchange Service URL as the one configured above. Custom Select this option if you want to use a different Exchange Service URL to send an notification when creating or editing a meeting. Enter a different Exchange Service URL in the text box below. Retrieve Automatically Select this option if you do not want to configure the Exchange Service URL in the installation process. With this option selected, the Exchange Service URL will be retrieved automatically when you create or edit a meeting. Click Next to proceed to the next step. 72
73 This wizard automatically updates the AvePoint Meetings website. After the update completes, click Finish to exit this wizard. After updating AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint, clear your internet browser cache to ensure that all AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint functionality is available. 73
74 Uninstalling AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint On- Premises To uninstall AvePoint Meetings for SharePoint on-premises, complete the following steps: Delete the AvePoint Meetings app package from your SharePoint app catalog site. a. Log into the SharePoint app catalog site where the AvePoint Meetings app package resides. b. Click App for SharePoint in the Quick Launch. Select AvePoint Meetings. Click OK to delete the AvePoint Meetings app package from your SharePoint app catalog site. Uninstall the AvePoint Platform service. a. Open the Control Panel, click Uninstall a program to uninstall the AvePoint Platform service from your computer. 74

To delete the related data as well, click the Click for more information ( ) button on the top-right corner of Action for Meetings, Agenda for Meetings, Attachment for Meetings, Decision for Meetings, Location for Meetings, Meeting for Meetings, and Note for Meetings tiles. 75
