4 Pavement Engineering Overview Pavement engineering is the field upon which AID was founded and has since grown. Pavement evaluation and design remains one of AID s core areas of concentration. Often considered a niche field within geotechnical engineering, pavement engineering includes the evaluation and design of pavement structures associated with roadways, airfields and ports. AID offers both full-service pavement testing and engineering. In the testing realm, AID own and operate a full arsenal of state-ofthe-practice and state-of-the-art equipment including nondestructive testing (NDT) equipment. AID provide more than just a testing service, employing highly qualified engineers with both graduate degrees and professional licenses in pavement engineering. AID are involved with pavement projects from cradle to grave. With regards to materials sampling and inspection, AID conduct conventional sampling and coring in addition to the latest nondestructive testing (NDT) methods.
