2 Energy targets In 2009/10 the University s carbon footprint was 80,615t CO 2 and the total energy bill was 10.6 million. University of Oxford energy targets: Reduce CO 2 by 11% by 2015/16 (2005/6 baseline) Reduce CO 2 by 33% by 2020/21 (2005/6 baseline)
3 Electricity Bills There are 3 types of electricity bill that departments will see Monthly/Quarterly - Non Half Hourly metered from our supplier Monthly - Half Hourly metered from our supplier OUED Split bill
4 Electricity Bills (Monthly/Quarterly) Use on Oracle Details on next slide Received by buildings which are small and not on a university distribution network 13 digit MPAN (Meter point number) 21 digit full MPAN gives more information and is unique to supply point A supply point can be thought of as the physical point at which a service enters the building and stays the same regardless of changes in meters or suppliers
5 Electricity Bills (Monthly/Quarterly) Now for a more detailed look at consumption and cost Take note of dates the bill is for Check Address Meter serial number (kwh) (kwh) Use in kwh x = x = Applies if VAT is at 20% Added to cover admin and metering costs Total to pay
6 Electricity Bills (Half Hourly) Half Hourly bills are supplied to large sites with a maximum demand of over 100kVA These site have meters owned by the suppliers that record consumption every half an hour
7 Electricity Bills (Half Hourly) Take note of dates the bill is for Maximum demand /kva/yr kwh Energy Costs Transmission Charges Est Triad demand 1264kVA x p/kva/mnth Std loss adjustment rate 8.189% 7.3%
8 Electricity Bills (Half Hourly) Distribution charges % 41.9% 48.6% kva x 28 = p adds 97% p adds 15% p adds 2.5% p/day To day rate Published charges Or 3.19% to night rate for Green unit rates Red Unit Amber Unit Green Unit 16:30 to 19:00 Mon-Fri inc Bank holidays 09:00 to 16:30 and 19:00 to 20:30 Mon-Fri inc Bank holidays 00:00 to 09:00 and 20:30 to 24:00 Mon-Fri & 00:00 to 24:00 Sat and Sun Also there is a reactive power charge of 0.251p/kVArh if your power factor is less than 0.95
