2 Clearview Federal Credit Union Statement of Commitment to Members and the Southwestern Pennsylvania Community (SWPA) As a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative, we at Clearview Federal Credit Union are committed to our members. We will uphold our fundamental responsibility to actively serve people within our field of membership, and as appropriate, the communities in which they live. We will treat all members with respect and dignity and we will offer honest, fair deals to all members at all times. We will deliver a wide range of low-cost products and services to the diverse economic and social make-up of our members and potential members. And we will continually, in all facets of operations, demonstrate the value of membership in Clearview Federal Credit Union. We will monitor and communicate our services to members with transparency, so that members, potential members, legislators, regulators, and the community at large will understand and appreciate the unique role that member-owned financial cooperatives play in their lives. Throughout Clearview Federal Credit Union s strategic plan, we will put forth every effort to enable our members to become financially self-sufficient and successful. We will place high importance on consumer education and the teaching of financial thrift. This Statement of Commitment to Members is consistent with our Credit Union principles of Not for Profit, Not for Charity, but for Service and our philosophy of People Helping People. This statement represents good business practices that ensure the financial strength of our Credit Union on behalf of our members. Section I: Service to Members Clearview Federal Credit Union strives to offer services designed to improve the economic and social well being of all members from all socio-economic backgrounds and return financial value to those who participate in our member-owned financial cooperative. Current Products and Services that Help Improve the Economic and Social Well- Being of Members: Deposit Deposit accounts with no or low minimum balance requirements and some that pay dividends Specialty savings accounts (e.g. Christmas Club/Vacation Club/Member s Choice) with no minimum balance requirements that pay dividends Money Market accounts that pay dividends on a tiered schedule Savings and youth savings certificates that pay dividends Free Checking accounts with no minimum balance requirements, no monthly fees or per check fees and no limits on the number of checks written per month Page 2

Current Programs and Initiatives that support Involvement/Governance: Annual attendance at the Government Affairs Conference by CEO and Chairman of the Board Volunteer Board of Directors who serve on many committees aimed at encouraging member participation Volunteer Supervisory Committee appointed by the Board of Directors Annual Membership meeting used to promote credit union participation and philosophy is advertised in the monthly and quarterly newsletters Clearview promotes member involvement in Board elections and political endeavors through monthly and quarterly newsletters Clearview employees currently have involvement with the Beaver Valley Chapter of Credit Unions, the Board of Directors of Pennsylvania Credit Union Service Centers (PACUSC), the ibelong Steering Committee, Board of Directors of the Mon Valley Chapter of Credit Unions, the Pittsburgh Chapter of Credit Unions Board of Directors, Greensburg Chapter of Credit Unions, Allegheny-Kiski Valley Chapter of Credit Unions and the Government Affairs Committee (GAC) of the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association (PCUA) Board members attend Pennsylvania Credit Union Association (PCUA) Institute for New Directors Local politicians invited to ribbon cuttings of new branches and to tour Clearview facilities Clearview employees attend Chamber of Commerce Economic Forum & Legislative Receptions throughout the year Page 6
7 Clearview participates annually in Project ZipCode Clearview frequently sponsors a young Clearview employee in the Credit Union Youth Ambassador contest Clearview offers financial support to Credit Union House Visit newly elected Congressional representatives and educate them on credit union differences and issues Attend the Annual State Convention hosted by the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association Continue involvement in Chamber of Commerce organizations located throughout the Southwestern PA area Section IV: Diversity Clearview Federal Credit Union recognizes the value of demographic diversity in staff as well as in volunteers and will strive to bring people of diverse backgrounds and experiences into leadership and other roles at the Credit Union. Clearview Federal Credit Union s community field of membership includes a large percentage of residents classified as underserved (meaning they have limited access to financial institutions) and it is the Credit Union s goal to provide products, services and programs that will benefit these residents and the entire community. Current Initiatives that Promote Diversity: Member market segmentation using demographics available through Harland Financial Solutions Marketing Customer Information Files (MCIF) Equal Employment Opportunity used to fill vacancies Equal Housing Lender making mortgages available to all members Bi-lingual ATMs available to members Member surveys conducted semiannually by Raddon Financial Group Preferred hiring of bi-lingual Phone Service Center representative and Business Development representative Section V: Commitment to the Credit Union Movement and other Cooperative Activities Clearview Federal Credit Union will work to build and strengthen our unique credit union movement by providing financial and in-kind resources to others within the credit union community and by actively advocating the credit union difference at all levels of government and in other appropriate public forums. In addition, Clearview Federal Credit Union will participate in local, state and national cooperative activities as appropriate and will strive to build and strengthen relationships with other sectors of the national cooperative movement. We recognize that practicing good Corporate Citizenship supports the Credit Union Philosophy of People Helping People. Furthermore, it will help raise the overall level of social and economic well being of those in our community, help to strengthen ties within the community and better position us to reach out and serve as only credit unions can those people in greatest need of affordable financial services.
