1 developing a child protection strategy It is important in child protection to move from awareness and understanding into action and delivery as quickly as possible. To assist you with this, Courage has developed a number of templates to help you develop a child protection strategy using the Courage toolkit as a framework for your thinking: 1. Strategy Overview: Use this overview to structure your child protection strategy and to review it. 2. Vision Template: Use this template to develop a child protection vision for your community, refer to the Universal Child Rights and Developmental Needs Charts for inspiration. 3. Child Protection Challenges Template: Use this template to rank each of the child protection challenges in your community, refer to the Child Protection Challenges for inspiration. 4. Strategic Priorities Template: Use this template to identify short term, medium term and long term priorities once you have identified your top child protection challenges. 5. Action Plan Template: Complete this template for each of your priorities, using the Child Protection Strategies to assist you in your planning process. 6. Strategic Partnerships & Planning Templates: Use these templates to identity the strategic partners you will need to implement your child protection plan with, refer to the Courage Community Map and Child Protection Strategies to for inspiration. 7. Challenges/Disempowerment Theme Sorting: Use this template to group your child protection challenges under key disempowerment themes, which will then reveal what empowerment themes or guiding principles to use in your child protection strategy. For more information on developing a child protection strategy, see the Courage Facilitator Guide at
