4 Premise Cloud is the new way of IT : The story has shifted from how we will deploy IT resources to how we are going to consume IT resources and not to forget continuity Cloud adoption is expanding beyond low hanging Fruits : Cloud adoption is expanding beyond low hanging fruit like and custom applications to include, enterprise applications, disaster recovery, storage and archiving, and business intelligence and analytics to support Big Data initiatives. Cloud is seen as an enabler of growth, beyond the cost reduction imperative The reduction in cost and acceleration in agility will free IT up to innovate beyond its core service delivery duties, supporting the business with new services that make use of their cloud infrastructure, potentially delivering new revenue and growth Democratization of software assets Cloud is bringing advanced technology to all From Why to What and How As cloud computing adoption proliferates, so does the need for consumption assistance and Cloud centric design becomes a necessity Many organizations look first for opportunities to migrate existing enterprise workloads to a cloud system and/or an application infrastructure. This approach may provide benefits where the workload has a highly variable resource requirement, or where the application naturally lends itself to horizontal scalability. 6 Compliance Amazon Web Services offers compliance to most of the regulatory authorities: Myth: Firms shouldn t use the cloud for its customer data because it is less secure than on-premise systems. This statement is a myth. The truth is, the cloud is at least as secure as on-premise solutions, and one could even argue it s more secure. We recommended companies invest in monitoring and detection capabilities to speed the time of detection and response. 6
