2 Motivation Lack of Visual Collaboration platform for CAx simulation results Lack of visual confirmation of simulation results during optimization or DOE runs Results are over written in many cases Especially important for multidisciplinary design and analysis environments 2

3 Goals Phase I: To be able to capture and publish MD Nastran animation results during a multi-run task (OPT, DOE) into a small visual file Phase II Extend Phase I capability to Multi-disciplinary Design Optimization Task Merge each multi-disciplinary run results into one single visual file Use the multi-objective trade-off analysis tool with multi-disciplinary visual data sets Phase III Interpolating visual results using approximation techniques with DOE data set (for CPU intensive applications) 3

15 MD Nastran, isight-fd & VCollab Integration PHASE I : VCZ visual file generation from MD Nastran file within isight-fd Framework 1. Wrap VMoveCAE Data Coversion Adaptor as an isight-fd component to read and convert the MD Nastran Results file to a.vcz file. 2. VCZ Integration: Wrap partial VCollab Pro functionality as an isight-fd component to aggregate multiple.vcz files together. 3. Send.vcz file output as attachment of a isight-fd component PHASE II : VCZ embedded 3D Engineering Document Generation 1. Insert.vcz file content into isight-fd Word/PowerPoint/Excel component 2.
