3 Who Are We? A research team for students conducting actual scientific research in the Space Sciences fields. Not affiliated with nor controlled by any one educational institution, corporation or governmental agency. IAAS student research team members work in conjunction with them on various projects. A 501(c)3 Non-profit Organization Philosophy Science is a window into the universe. How can we as scientists keep this beautiful treasure to ourselves? The joy of research & investigation becomes even more exciting when shared with others & we all can look through the window & experience the joy of the wonders & mysteries before us.
4 A Brief History Founded in 1978 by Prof. Jim Moravec IAAS Students Have contributed to and assisted in the development of astronomy curricula for kindergarten students through adults. The IAAS students have developed numerous educational programs over its many years of existence. Are sought after as international speakers on the topics of youth astronomy research and scientific programs. Are actively recruited by post-secondary institutions of higher learning for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs. Have been hired by US and international governmental agencies, as well as space science related corporations world wide as a direct result of their work with the IAAS.

Several students accepted & completed undergrad studies at US Service Academies. US Naval, US AFA, West Point, US CG, Merchant Marine Academy Advanced Degrees 60+% earned Advanced Degrees. 4 students earn Double Doctorate Degrees. 1 Student earned a Double Doctorate from Harvard. Over 1000 students have completed the program in the last 37 years.

8 Recruitment Research Staff High school students entering the 9 th through 12 th grade interested in the space sciences. Recruitment of prospective 9 th grade students begins in Spring of their 8 th grade year. Notification of selection in May. Associate Program Students in Elementary & Middle School (Grades 5 th thru 8 th ). Can join at any time of the school year. Programs begin near the start of the school year.
