2 Today s Business Challenge: Managing Patient, Physician, Staff, and Room Schedules Efficient scheduling is crucial to delivering quality patient care. High patient volumes and dispersed care resources make scheduling cases difficult even on routine days. When emergency procedures arise, cases run long, or staff are unavailable, changes must be made quickly and communicated to everyone affected. From there, you can set a message to alert the scheduler that it is time for a reminder call to the patient. Notes such as the patient s allergies or special needs help staff prepare for the patient. Giving staff this critical information up front ensures the patient s needs are met in a timely manner no more surprises or last- minute scrambling.
