3 Product introduction Ur-Smart 使用手冊 About Ur-Smart Ur-Smart provides users with a portable environment for , contact list, document, web account and instant message records on their USB flash drives. With extra file security functions, Ur-Smart can be use on any PC for any of the related functions mentioned above without leaving your personal information behind. Portable Choose between Microsoft Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook Portable document security Documents can be compressed and AES encrypted to prevent unauthorized accesses Portable document Take your documents with you wherever you go My Browser Take your My favorite bookmark with you wherever you go. 4 System requirements Ur-Smart 使用手冊 Operating system: Microsoft Windows 2000 / XP / Vista Processor: Intel Pentium III and above Memory: 64MB and above Hard drive space: 20MB CD ROM USB connection Browser technology: Internet Explorer V5.0 and above software: Microsoft Outlook Express V5.0 and above or Microsoft Outlook 2000(V9.0) and above, Windows Mail (For synchronization purposes, please use only Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Outlook Express) Must have Administrator or rights install software to the computer 4

5 Activating Ur-Smart Ur-Smart 使用手冊 Pre-loaded into your USB flash drive, activate Ur-Smart by double clicking on Ur-Smart.exe. Upon activation, please enter your desired password for future use and accesses to this USB flash drive on any computer you plug into. Activation screen: Setting password and password reminder When using Ur-Smart for the first time, Initial setting will appear (shown in figure 1.). Please enter a password and password reminder for personal file protection. Future access to this USB flash drive will require the correct password. Do not loose the password as you will not be able to access all files stored on this USB flash drive. If you need to change the password, please go to Change password to do so. Figure-1 5

6 Ur-Smart 使用手冊 Activating Ur-Smart Please refer to figure-2 and see if the Ur-Smart icon can be located in the bottom right corner of your screen to indicate the program is up and running. Only PQI USB flash drives can use functions of the Ur-Smart software. Figure-2 Termination Ur-Smart To terminate this program, unplug the USB flash drive or right click on the icon in the bottom right corner of your screen and left click on end program. Before terminating the program, please make sure no files are in the process of being transferred to prevent data loss. 6

9 User Settings Change password Change password by clicking on this option Maximum password lengthen is 16 bits Maximum password reminder lengthen is 64 bits 9

11 Changing skin To use this option to change application skin, please close the Ur-Smart application. Download skins from the website and decompress the file(s) to Ur-Smart Data\ Skin (this is a hidden folder, please shut down program during this procedure). For example, if your downloaded file is Classic.rar, decompressing to the directory above will result in X:\Ur-Smart Data\ Skin\Classic (X: is your portable device s assigned drive letter). Click on the Change Skin button and new skin options will appear. About About Ur-Smart Can link directly to the PQI website 11

13 Single direction: Synchronization functions only one direction, either to PC or to UFD Multi-direction: UFD and target computer synchronization directions 13

14 Advance settings: Advance settings for synchronization directions 1. If target directory is set then a sub directory will automatically form under the same directory When selected: Set under device directory, create a new folder with the same name for synchronization actions. When not selected: synchronization actions occur with no new folder will be created 2. If files found in the target directory should not exists, then delete? Do not delete: Default setting, synchronized actions for all files from source or directory of origin. Do not delete: For inspections and records: Synchronized actions for all files from source or directory of origin. Delete existing file or folder in the target directory: Delete existing file or folder in the target directory that are different in source of origin 3. Backup update option No backup: This is the default setting and will only update without making backup copies. Backup previous file and save different versions: Will backup original file before updating. eg. Original file name is 001_IMG.jpg, backup copy name will be 001_IMG.jpg.1.bak. The first numerical letter after 001_IMG.jpg will be the backup version followed by.bak indicating it is a backup copy. Number of backup copies to save: Set the number of backups to keep and when exceeded, older copies will be deleted. 14

15 Synchronization of Microsoft Outlook/ Outlook Express For synchronization functions to work, Microsoft Outlook / Outlook Express must be installed, setup and executed on your PC. If not installed, executed and setup, the target folder can not be selected and synchronization functions will not work. Microsoft Outlook/ Outlook Express will have different setups Outlook Express synchronization options include Inbox, Outbox, Sent s, Deleted Items and Drafts. Tick the options you wish to synchronize 15

16 Apart from synchronizing your , you can also synchronize My Favorites for single or uni-direction synchronization 16

17 Microsoft Outlook synchronization options include Inbox, Outbox, Contacts, Calendar, Note, Tasks and Draft. Tick the options you wish to synchronize For Outlook synchronization, there are detail sub settings to choose from such as maximum storage capacity or synchronize unread s only. Apart from synchronizing your , you can also synchronize My Favorites for single or uni-direction synchronization 17

19 Portable Introduction Please select Portable from the user interface For synchronization functions to work, Microsoft Outlook / Outlook Express must be installed, setup and executed on your PC Initiating Portable functions: Once you ve selected your software, initiation screen appears. You can choose to backup copies of PC s to your USB flash drive. Note: For a successful backup process, please check if USB flash drive have sufficient storage space before copying data from PC! 19 Initiation screenshot of Outlook Express

21 Portable Document Introduction Please select Portable Document from the user interface You can drag the file you wish to copy directly onto the Portable Document icon to perform copy procedure Portable Document storage directory is X:\ Ur-Smart Data\My Document [X represents the drive letter designation of your USB flash drive] 21

22 Portal Security Document Introduction AES 256bit encryption is provided with this function Please select Portable Security Document on the user interface A window appears asking you to enter a password before entering Portable Security Document s main window Portable Security Document storage directory is X:\ Ur-Smart Data\My ARZip *X represents the drive letter designation of your USB flash drive Note: Deleting this folder will erase all encrypted documents 22

23 Add new files or folders to portable security document, please press add button in main page to start procedure. When adding new file(s) or folder(s), a compression window appears. The compression time and file size will depend on your computer processing speed and file size. (eg. Larger the file, longer it takes) Please do not exceed 19 bits on file names for encryption. When opening Excel files from the encryption area, it will ask if the file be encrypted again. When this occurs, select NO and ignore that request. 23

24 Lock-PC Introduction Please select Lock-PC on user interface A window will appear asking for password. Please enter password to enter into main Lock-PC window In the Lock-PC window, you can set password, time, desired image and word display. If you select multiple images, it will display them in slide show mode with 5 second intervals. There are two ways to disable PC-Lock, 1. Plug in the USB flash drive or 2. Enter password to disable Lock-PC. 24

25 Web Account Introduction Please select Web Account on the user interface A window will appear asking for password. Please enter password to enter into main Web Account window. 25

26 Web Account List: Displays all stored web accounts Add new web account: Adding a new web account For web account(s) that wish to be stored, please enter the correct password and account name and enter the account. An Ur-Smart pop-up screen will appear. Click on the storage button to store all related account information 26

27 Web Account Maintenance: You can modify and change web account details in this window Select the account that you wish to change / modify and click on edit 27

28 Instant Messenger Introduction Please select Instant Messenger on the user interface Enter your instant messenger account into the pop-up screen by Ur-Smart. All conversation records will be recorded onto the USB flash drive Currently supported instant messenger software include: Skype, MSN and QQ 28

29 My Browser Introduction Please select My Browser on the user interface On initial use, it will ask if you wish to backup a copy of your My Favorites from PC to your USB flash drive 29

30 Software Search Introduction Please select Software Search on the user interface Enter keywords to search for installation free portable softwares This function links to to search for your desired password. All software are the properties of and their respective owners. 30

31 Important Notices 1. Ur-Smart is only compatible with PQI USB flash drives 2.
