7 What is Financial Engineering? Financial engineering is a multidisciplinary field that applies engineering methodologies to problems in finance. It employs financial theory and applied mathematics, as well as engineering tools such as computations and programming, modeling, system theory and optimization

8 What is Financial Engineering? It teaches the tools that help make pricing, hedging, trading and portfolio management decisions as well as use derivative securities and other instruments to control the financial risk of individual or corporate investors, financial institutions, banks, etc.

16 MS in Financial Engineering Degree Completion Criteria A minimum of 29 units is required for the general MS in Financial Engineering degree A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 is required for graduation

17 Application Criteria An undergraduate degree in engineering, math or hard science from a regionally-accredited university. Applicants with undergraduate degrees in finance, accounting and similar are also eligible to apply for this program Satisfactory GRE test scores. All scores must be officially reported to the university directly by ETS and less than 5 years old Letters of Recommendation (optional) Statement of Purpose (optional)
