3 PREPAID SERVICE ON FIXED LINE TICL Prepaid voice service through fixed wire-line is one of the TICl s voice services, where a telephone line accesses Prepaid Account and all telephone services from this account are paid for in advance. The Benefits of PPA fixed line Easy access to TICl network using both direct and remote access services; Possibility of flexible tariff choice to either per minute or second charging: Interactive voice prompts gives status of the account and helps the customer use the range of value added services: Flexible promotional charging and discounts based on various products offering; Remote topping up and balance transfers to another accounts belonging to families, friends and business partners. Option to use a PI N or not when making calls: Direct access codes for calling top up, balance check and customer support service: No credit restrictions:

4 No deposit: Free customer care support: Prepaid call charges: Free emergency calls: RAFIKI CALLING CARD This is another TTCL prepaid service using a unique card for making calls from any TTCL mobile and fixed phone located at home, office or a public payphone. Calling cards are sold at all Customer Service Centers countrywide Calling Cards are used for making CALLS only, NOT for recharging your prepaid services Customer MUST change the default PIN on the first use to secure credit balance Card number is a customer s virtual telephone number therefore the card MUST always be kept safe. Benefits Rechargeable by using any of TTCL Top Up cards. Credit IS secured protected using the PIN Changing PIN for more security Provides a permanent virtual telephone line known as card number Provide mobility as the card is used anywhere on all TTCL land line phones Credit can be transfer to another RAFIKI calling card

5 RAFIKI PAYPHONE RAFIKI payphone is a public phones service provided by TTCL in partnership with private enterprise available in public locations throughout the country either on fixed or mobile networks using both coin and RAFIKI calling cards. Benefits Access to call for everybody Receiving incoming call No need of possessing personal phone to make call POSTPAID SERVICE TTCL Post Paid Services are communication solutions offered by TTCL whereby the customer pays for the services monthly as per service agreement contract. Voice service communication solutions supported include:-

6 Domestic and international telephone and fax service provided over fixed and wireless networks Fixed, Mobile and Fixed wireless postpaid telephone lines, ISDN service Basic Rate Access line (BRA). Primary Rate Access (PRA) To enhance product offerings, new product ranges are being developed, suchas IP Centrex. The product will provide hosted PABX functions for corporate customers and SMEs. This product is available by August INTEGRATED SERVICES DIGITAL NETWORK (ISDN) Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) is a postpaid service currently available for corporate and business users in major cities. The ISDN products currently available are two: Primary Rate Access (PRA) Basic Rate Access (BRA) These two services differ basically in their use and capacity. PRA has 30 bearer channels with 64kb/s capacity each and is intended for big users like those who want to connect ISDN PABXs. ISDN Basic Rate is for users such residential customers or those with small offices because it has two bearer channels with 64kbps each. A BRA user can connect various terminals (telephone terminal and data terminal) and then perform simultaneous individual communication. e.g. send facsimile while using voice line.

7 General Applications of ISDN Surf the net faster You can download files from the Internet at up to four times the speed of an analogue modem. Send high quality fax at high speed With speeds of 64 Kbits/s and using the ISDN fax (Group 4 Fax machine), you can send and receive high quality documents very representative of the original document. Interconnect your Local Area Networks (LANs) on demand creating a wide area network. If you have a network of PCs or LAN at different sites, you will be able to share centralized or decentralized information between them. Transfer data faster You can transmit large files at high speed to other offices having the ISDN service. Using an ISDN line and a videoconferencing system, you are able to have an on-screen conference without having to travel. Videoconference Telemedicine (ex of video conferencing) Doctors can assist each other remotely through guidance and instruction in diagnosing and even operating a patient.

8 Dial-up High-speed Leased Line Back-up Your ISDN Line can also work as a dial-up back-up for your 64 Kbit/s leased line to ensure continuous business operations as part of a business continuity plan. Calling Line Identification (CLI) Multiple subscriber numbers (MSN) Direct Dialing Inward (001) Call forwarding Conference call Sub addressing (SUB) TTCL MOBILE TTCL Mobile is TTCL Code Division Multiple access (COMA) cellular network. COMA is a high quality wireless communication technology that supports 3G services as well as high quality basic voice and text. It is available on fixed wireless terminals and handheld phones combining numerous services on a single wireless line like voice, data, SMS, fax and multimedia.

Note: TTCL Mobile RUIMI (similar to SIM) handsets card do not work in the GSM Activating my TICL Mobile for the first time A new customer will dial 073 and press send button to activate the line, Swahili and English welcome notes will be heard and then the customer will be prompted to select the language of preference How to recharge mobile account There are three ways to recharge TTCL Mobile account. a. Direct recharging Enter 104 plus 12-digits revealed from your Rafiki top up card followed by # Press send button Listen to the voice prompt and press I to confirm Listen to your new balance.

10 b. Recharging by listening to voice prompts Dial 104 and listen to voice prompts Press I to recharge your account or press 2 to recharge other person s account. Enter 12-digits from your Rafiki top up card followed by # Listen to the announcements and press I to confirm You will receive an SMS confirming your new balance. c. Recharging using SMS Open SMS box and type 111 plus 12-revealed digits from your Rafiki top up card. Send to 104 A short message with your new balance will be displayed. Checking Balance of ones phone account There are three ways to check the balance. a. Direct check Dial 102#. You will receive an SMS confirming your current balance. b. Check by listening to voice prompts Dial 102 Listen to voice prompts for your current balance. c. Check using SMS Open SMS box and write in small letters the word balance. Send to 102. A message for your current balance will be displayed.

11 DATA SERVICES 1. TTCL BROADBAND TTCL Broadband offers fast, reliable connection to the Internet for websurfing, software downloads, news, entertainment and other internet based applications and content services. The existing landline is used to deliver the services using ADSL technology that splits your land line into two; one for telephone service and one for internet or data services. Unlike dial-up, ADSL delivers the services separately and you top-up (or settle the bills) separately. TTCL offers Broadband packages to address diverse requirements and budgetary capacity as follows: For large business. ISPs, public & private organizations: TTCL offers reliable, fast and scalable and internet access for high end usage in a very demanding office environment. Packaged with different speeds, you can choose the package suits your environment depending on the number of users, online applications as well as other factors, TTCL will assist you by designing a solution that fits your online computing needs, Fastest response time to websites, web-applications and content Unlimited monthly access Dedicated access to the internet gateway with 100% committed access rate For small and medium enterprises; Very flexible payment options with different packages that offers topspeed access to the internet and web-based content and applications, TTCL currently has the following packages to suit your environment;

With this package you can download an equivalent of about five thousand MP3 music tracks, For webmail addicts you can send thousands of s per month yet retaining your capacity to surf the web download software and do a lot more on the net. 20GB data package per month at top-speed. You enjoy more amount of web content and applications 50GB data package for really high usage locations with heavy demand for very fast web-content to multiple users, At top speed in the market you are sure your users will always be satisfied, Note: All packages offers a top speed of 2Mbps on ADSL; no interference, very stable and no need for line of sight All packages are on shared bandwidth access basis i.e, speed may go lower especially at peak hours When your data volume based on the package is utilized before month end, you will be charged on by flow basis. Broadband prepaid top-up cards available from TTCL are used for charging your account. TTCL You can top-up for unlimited number of months at once; only applicable monthly charge shall be deducted each month (provided your usage remain within your package range). The above packages may be altered from time to time depending on market needs. Note: Analogue leased lines are only offered for short distances (Within 5Km) Installation charges for all leased lines are part of the payments For higher bandwidths and international leased circuits the tariff will be negotiated based on actual bandwidth required and route required. Terminal equipment DTU/NTU is a responsibility of a customer. You will be given the number type and make of the equipment after survey has been conducted to establish your requirements 3. TTCL Virtual Private Networks (VPN) The service provides dedicated end-to-end connectivity solution to link multiple sites in different geographical locations. Large enterprises, government and non-governmental organizations with offices in different locations can seamlessly extend their business applications to all branches reliably, securely and efficiently. TTCL MOBILE INTERNET TTCL Mobile internet is the fastest full mobile wireless data communication solution offered via TICl mobile network ideal for personal communication. TTCL mobile uses the CDMA2000 technology which meet the ITU definition of as a 3G technology, offering data rates of up to I 53Kbps (I x) and up to 3.2Mbps (EV-DO). Currently TTCL mobile offers the widest coverage Internet access solution within the united republic of Tanzania. IP-CENTREX A type of enhanced PBX equipment in which switching occurs in TTCL at a local telephone office instead of occurring as usual in the PBX at the company (customer) premises.
