3 WELCOME to the Chicagoland Foreign Investment Group, the first Regional Center in the greater Chicagoland area! Chicagoland Foreign Investment Group, LLC ( CFIG ) is a US government designated EB-5 Regional Center. It is a part of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services ( USCIS ) Immigrant Investor program, commonly referred to as the EB-5 Regional Center Program. A Regional Center is any economic entity, public or private that has been authorized by USCIS to be involved in the promotion of economic growth, improved regional productivity, job creation and increased domestic capital investment. The EB-5 Regional Center Program offers foreign nationals the opportunity to become lawful permanent residents in the United States through investment in strategic, United States-based economic development projects in various Regional Centers. In March of 2009, USCIS designed CFIG as a Regional Center and has since extended its designation area to include the entire States of Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan, and Minnesota. OUR APPROACH CFIG is dedicated to respecting foreign investors and protecting their interests. We view investors as individuals and not just investment dollars. CFIG s understanding of both EB-5 Regional Center Program and general immigration principles enables us to provide unparalleled experience and expertise in helping investors complete their immigration process. It also allows us to create a win-win situation in which both investors and projects achieve their goals while promoting economic growth, improving regional productivity, and creating jobs.

4 CFIG PRINCIPALS Taher Kameli, Esq. In 2009, Taher Kameli was selected to be the Executive Director of Chicagoland Foreign Investment Group. Since 1996, he has served as the Principal of the Law Offices of Kameli & Associates, P.C. He is a member of the bar of Washington, D.C., the State of New York, and the State of Illinois. Throughout his career, Taher Kameli has dedicated himself to issues arising from our current age of globalization. He specializes in immigration and corporate law, and is a strong advocate for international business. He has been working with investments through the EB-5 Regional Center Program for many years, and has successfully relocated many businesses internationally. He has built a strong presence for himself and his firm overseas, with satellite offices in Dubai, Panama, and Amman. He has developed an extensive referral basis throughout the Middle East region and the world. Furthermore, he has a weekly international show, broadcast in several countries in the Middle East region, in which he informs foreign investors about the EB-5 Regional Center Program. 6 WHY CHICAGO? Chicago is the third largest city in the United States. With its metropolitan area, commonly referred to as Chicagoland, Chicago is the most populous city in the Midwest Region of the United States. Rich in history and renowned for its architecture, Chicago is classified as a true alpha city. Since it s foundation, Chicago has always been a major transportation hub. Centrally located within the United States, Chicago provides easy access to the world. The city has 2,900 daily flights including direct and nonstop service to more than 200 cities worldwide. It serves as a hub for all six Class-One North American Railroads, six major U.S. Interstates and is the business, financial, and cultural capital of the Midwest. Since the Chicago World s Fair of 1893, Chicago has been regarded as one of the ten most influential cities in the world.

7 Business Chicago provides the perfect blend of business and pleasure. As a major world financial center, Chicago is home to the nation s second largest central business district and many Fortune 500 companies. Additionally, there are various Fortune 500 companies are headquartered in the Chicagoland area. With two airports, ten national highways, and major train access from all areas of the county, Chicago is easily accessible from anywhere in the world. Education There are a large number of colleges and universities in the Chicagoland area that attract a large population of students from all over the world. Consistently ranked among the top in the nation, the University of Chicago and Northwestern University were recently named among the top 15 universities in United States by Forbes Magazine. Any field of study imaginable can be found at Chicago s numerous colleges and universities. Culture Looking for something with a little more excitement? Chicago has a large theatre district with the latest Broadway plays, ballets, and musicals. There are several renowned museums in various areas of interest from children s museums to a planetarium. In addition, Chicago is home to two zoos and an aquarium. The city also has numerous parks and outdoor activities in which to partake, or you can choose to take a stroll down the Magnificent Mile for a day of shopping. Want to sit and relax? How about catching a game? There are nine professional sports teams within the area and over twenty minor league teams. Diversity Chicago has an incredibly diverse population. The city s diversity is represented by exotic cuisines and numerous festivals representing cultures from around the world. In fact, over 20% of the population is foreign born. Walking through the streets of Chicago, over 40 different languages can be heard. Wherever you are in the city, you are bound to feel at home in Chicago. Diversity is widely seen as one the city s most enduring features. Richard M. Daley, former Mayor of Chicago, has said, We welcome immigrants from other lands as we have for generations. Out of our diversity comes our city s greatest strength. Current Mayor of Chicago has continued Chicago s long-standing tradition of welcoming immigrants to the city. As Mayor Emanuel has recently stated, I am committed to making Chicago the most immigrant-friendly city in the world.
