1 Topic Study Group 29 (TSG 29) for ICME 12 Gender and Mathematics Education The TSG 29 organizing committee is co- chaired by Olof B. Steinthorsdottir (USA/Iceland) and Veronique Lizan (France), with additional team members Colleen Vale (Australia), Laura Martignon (Germany), and Sun Hee Kim (Korea), along with IPC Liaison Cheryl Praeger. The organizing committee organized the accepted papers for TSG 29 into four groups for presentation and discussion: Introduction: Gender issues in research and learning environmental Student s achievement, assessment and classroom activities Self- efficacy and attitudes Gendered view of mathematics The TSG 29 has four 90- minutes sessions (July 10, 11, 13, and 14), which will be devoted to above- mentioned groups. The structure of each 90 minutes session will include brief opening remarks by the TSG 29 organizing committee, following by long (20-30 min) and short (10-15 min) paper presentations. Following each paper presentation will be 5 to 10 minute discussions. At the conclusion of each session, the TSG 29 organizing committee will make some brief closing remarks.
