I managed the relationships between University of Roma Tre, the professors of the course, the executives of PORE and local administrators. I was tutor of several students during the preparation of their thesis. PUBLICATIONS I started my PhD in 2003: my aim was to acquire quantitative and qualitative methodological skills in order to develop empirical research concerning Berlusconi s party. I conduct an ethnographic research to investigate the political culture of the party of Silvio Berlusconi. I chose the method of vignettes, a technique used with successful results in the USA and the United Kingdom as factorial survey approach (FSA) to investigate the values. My PhD dissertation is fruit of research conducted using this technique in 50 interviews of members of the Italian Parliament belonging to Berlusconi s party. In 2008 I published the first research results in the peer-reviewed journal «Polena», where I illustrated the vignettes created ad hoc for this research. In 2010 I published a book, Le Storie, which includes the results of the whole research, focusing on the quantitative methodological aspects. In 2008 I decided to analyze the parliamentary class of Berlusconi s party through a qualitative method, conducting in-depth interviews. Through these interviews I investigated the particular structure of the party and I focused on the totally personal selection of candidates by the leader. I discussed the results in a paper presented at the Political Studies Association Conference in 2010 (Edinburgh), out of which I was asked to publish a short

5 monograph in Spain. Subsequently, I focused on how Berlusconi succeeded in imposing a position of incontestable power over his party and among his followers in Parliament, and the reasons for the current crisis in his system of power. This part of research is based on the analysis of several party statutes, official documents and public speeches of the leader.
