Identify the go to person/people for resolving disputes or unclear requirements Using the right part of the platform for the need Prototype often Get your data in order Based on the needs, selecting the right part of the platform for each project. Created a Tools- Capability Matrix to help with this More important for BI applications because so much may be assumed by people who aren t inclined to think about dashboards Define the data sources and strategy for supporting the project. Will the reports pull from multiple databases or will the data be staged in a mart? Define the governance model to be used Decide how these reports will be maintained, updated, governed after Go Live. Will they be centrally maintained by IT, by a specific business team, or otherwise? And for which levels of the data and application?
