1 YALE UNIVERSITY WOMEN S ORGANIZATION SCHOLARSHIP Associate s Degree - Bachelor s Degree Certificate-granting Program Summer Session 2015 May 31, 2016 The Yale University Women s Organization (YUWO) offers Scholarships to women whose formal education has been interrupted or delayed and who wish to resume their studies or enhance their careers by pursuing an associate or bachelor degree or a certificate-granting program. To be eligible, applicants must be associated with Yale University by their own or their spouse s employment and possess a valid Yale ID. Current members of YUWO and their families are not eligible. The scholarship may only be used for course tuition and academic fees for the academic year starting Summer Session 2015 and ending May Applicants are judged upon merit and need. Please note: You MUST have Adobe Reader XI installed on your computer in order to be able to save your completed application. (Prior versions of Reader will not permit the completed form to be saved.) You can download Adobe Reader XI here: The application form should be downloaded to your computer and saved. Open the form USING Adobe Reader XI, complete it, and save it again. You can then attach it to an to submit it. 5 In addition, please include the following materials: 1. A one-page typed statement giving your projected plans for continuing your education. Include: (1) reasons you desire further study, (2) career/educational goal, (3) a brief statement about the program or courses you will take, and (4) how this award will affect your plans. Please include any other relevant information that you feel may uniquely qualify you for this scholarship. 2. Provide two letters of recommendation, preferably from your supervisor at work and from an advisor or professor at the academic institution, if you are currently enrolled. The letters must be typed and signed on letterhead stationery. Your Yale I.D. indicates that you are either a Yale employee or the wife of a Yale employee. Yale spouses can obtain a Yale ID by contacting the ID Center.
