2 DoD Supply Network Management Charter: To promote the development of a more robust Defense Industrial Base and Supply Chain Network Process in order to increase the strength and diversity of the Defense Manufacturing Enterprise in support of the Warfighter. 2

5 Steve Linder - MDA Presentation on the MDA/DEP Supply Chain Initiatives TDSC (Transforming Defense Supply Chains) assist in the transformation of DoD acquisition programs into lean, efficient responsive enterprises MIAMI Have held 2 forums on TDSC in Huntsville Mission Assurance supply chain Mapping Interface (MIAMI) aimed at assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of supply chains in a graphical context and eventually connect data bases of elements (Bills of Materials, quality of production, ) Develop Databases with 8A/SDVOSB/VOSB suppliers annotated and North American Industrialization Classification System Codes available Shows production capabilities of specific skills for use in future subs Develops automated update notification Counterfeit parts Identify challenges Good parts with possible Trojan horses embedded Discussion developed on counterfeit part challenges MDA established an Anti-Counterfeiting and Configuration Control group LSS Pathways for Suppliers and Continuous Improvement Project Worked with supplies to address enterprise issues Focus on collaboration throughout supply chain Metrics driven 5

6 2009 Deliverables DoD Supply Network Management 1.Complete, compile and report on the results of the Committee s 2009 SME Supply Chain Survey. Status: Survey is on the NDIA website and committee members are conducting a beta test. Plan to roll out in the February/March time frame. 2. Develop and oversee a Supply Network portal on the NDIA website that will provide a source for supply chain best practices and function as a body of knowledge with the intent to improve the readiness of the defense manufacturing supply network. Status: This activity is still in the discussion phase and will be the main point of discussion at the committee meeting in February. 3. Coordinate our DOD Supply Chain Network Committee activities with other interested groups in the field. 6

7 Survey Status Survey is on the NDIA website and committee members are conducting a beta test (ndia.org/survey/supplychain). Plan to roll out in the March time frame. Roll out plan How? ? 8 Web Portal Development Develop and oversee a Supply Network portal on the NDIA website that will provide a source for supply chain best practices and function as a body of knowledge with the intent to improve the readiness of the defense manufacturing supply network.
