Billing and collections are top challenges for many dermatology practices today. Essentially, there are two basic types of patient financing programs. A revolving line of credit provides a pre-determined credit limit, typically via a credit card. Patients can use it, again and again (subject to credit approval), in the practice as the balance is paid down and credit becomes available. Once the initial credit line is established, the patient does not need to complete another application and may re-use the credit line as long as credit is available and the account is in good standing. Some revolving lines of credit offer no interest if paid in full within x months which means the patient pays no interest as long as they pay their balance off in full within the specified time. If the patient does not pay off the balance within the specified time, interest is charged from the original transaction date. An installment loan lets the patient make equal monthly payments for a set period of time until the balance is paid off in full. If a patient wants to use a term loan to pay for care in the future, a new credit application must be submitted and approved. Where does CareCredit fit? She is internationally renowned in dermatopathology for her diagnostic expertise in complex inflammatory diseases, benign and malignant lymphocytic infiltrates, and diagnostically difficult melanocytic proliferations. Dr. Magro has coauthored over 275 papers, several book chapters and three textbooks The Melanocytic Proliferation, The Cutaneous Lymphoid Proliferation, and Cutameous Biopsy Interpretation. She is also co-editor of the Barnhill Textbook of Dermatopathology. Her expertise has focused on the pathologic assessement of cutaneous autoimmune disease, viral disease, immunoflourescence, drug reactions, benign, atypical and neoplastic lymphocytic infiltrates of the skin and problematic melanocytic proliferations. She is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology with subspecialty board certification in Dermatopathology.
