That is why Nedap developed AEOS, a truly integral security management platform that is simple and intuitive to use. The key focus in this is not the technology, but the way in which it is used on a day-to-day basis. Because of this users make less mistakes, increasing your efficiency and security. This customisable approach has led to AEOS the most user friendly system that offers certainty in the ever changing world of security. The development of AEOS is based on the daily use of the system by receptionists, guards, security managers and ICT managers. Because of this, we believe AEOS is the world s smartest security solution. We reinforce this by embracing the principles of: flexibility, cost effectiveness and ease of use. These principles guide everything we do. Flexible: a security system gives you unlimited functionality, so you can set up your system to suit your needs exactly. 5 AEOS Release Guide 5 20 The following topics summarise the investments that are delivered in AEOS We realise that you expect the same flexibility, cost efficiency and user experience for locker management as you have with access control. That is why we built AEOS Locker Management on the principles of AEOS Access Control. In AEOS we have taken AEOS Locker Management to the next level by integrating it into the AEOS Identity & Authorisation Application. This new user experience provides you with more control without losing functionality and maintaining the flexibility you need in large and modern organisations. Lockers are now supported in the Identity & Authorisation Application. This makes it even easier to use AEOS Locker Management, because you have all relevant authorisation information together in one place.

6 AEOS Release Guide 6 20 By using the Identity & Authorisation Application you can use the locker editor to easily see which, and how many lockers belong to a person. In the editor you can assign new lockers and withdraw, open or unblock their current lockers. This overview gives you immediate access to all relevant information you need regarding a person's locker.

7 AEOS Release Guide 7 20 Flexibility is key when using locker management. So, if somebody is going to work at a different location you can give him permissions to use lockers at the new location, while withdrawing his rights for the current location in the same interface. This user experience makes it very straightforward to withdraw lockers. With AEOS Locker Management it is possible to manually open a locker in the Identity & Authorisation Application. If an employee with a long term locker has left his badge in his locker, he can call e.g. the receptionist, who opens the locker remotely. Of course you can add rules to verify the identity of the persons, as AEOS supports your compliancy, rules and regulations. We realise that there are always exceptions to a rule. Therefore AEOS gives you the flexibility to easily add exceptions, without changing the rules. If you are for example using lockers dynamically it is possible that there are some employees who need a long term locker. In AEOS you can simply give a person a long term locker, while others use lockers dynamically. You are in control of authorisations, not the system. In the Configuration & Maintenance Application you can add a reason why a locker is blocked, e.g. blocked for cleaning purposes. A reason can be that the locker needs to be cleaned. This reason is shown in the Identity & Authorisation Application. After the locker has been cleaned, you can easily unblock it in the interface your actually working in. A locker can also be blocked because an employee has exceeded the time he is allowed to use the locker. He cannot open the locker himself, but has to report this to reception. Your receptionist can unblock the locker with a single mouse click, saving time. This proves that one interface for your tasks improves efficiency, while maintaining control.

8 AEOS Release Guide 8 20 It is now possible to choose different locker authorisations for your personnel; exceptions can easily be added to the profile. For example: in the summertime employees who drive a motorcycle need a bigger locker for their helmet; now you can make sure these lockers can only be used by these employees. This way you are in full control, while being flexible.

9 AEOS Release Guide 9 20 We believe that a system that has a clear and great overview is not only easier to use, but also reduces user mistakes and therefore false alarms. That is why AEOS is focused on delivering a security system that delights users through experiences that are accessible and optimised for them. To deliver upon these expectations we further invested in intrusion detection. Please find below a selection of these features. For a complete overview you can check our release notes. Clear and consistent overview of alarm and log information on the intrusion terminal, in one view you see relevant information like time and date of an alarm and log. Simplified menu on the intrusion terminal for users that are only permitted to arm and disarm the system. With this one touch menu it is easy to use the system. Prevention of false alarms as a delay time can be added to each detector. It only gives an alarm after the preset time. A user presents his card to the intrusion terminal. The menu shows the intrusion system is disarmed. By pressing 1 the intrusion system is armed.

10 AEOS Release Guide Silent mode for signallers added. This silent mode prevents signalers (e.g. sirens) to be activated if the intrusion system is in installer mode. We have developed additional functionality for routes, like first detector for the walk-in route and last detector for the walk-out route. At the walk-in and walkout routes the order in which the detectors must be passed (following detectors) is added.

11 AEOS Release Guide More detailed information is passed to the Private Alarm Centre (PAC) by the dailer, so the PAC is exactly informed about the intrusion system. Detailed logging information in the AEOS Event Monitor, so you have a better status of the intrusion system. We added a new detector type: PAC and log. This is very useful for monitoring so called key-boxes. It generates no alarm, but sends an SIA event to the PAC and an event to AEOS.

12 AEOS Release Guide You need to watch over your people, property, intellectual assets and reputation. Therefore, you need to be in control of everything that happens in your organisation. AEOS video surveillance enables you to do so via constant monitoring of your premises. You can now place multiple camera streams into one single viewport. After a delay the next camera stream will be shown, or you can manually navigate back and forth. This feature is extremely useful if you have an area with low activity. You can combine these streams in one viewpoint, so there is no need to switch manually between screens, it automatically switches between the camera streams. This way fewer screens are needed, while being able to keep an eye on multiple camera streams.

13 AEOS Release Guide In AEOS we made the navigation panel even easier to use. You now have full control over play, playback and rewind using AEOS Surveillance. It is possible to rewind images while watching the footage and you can easily go through a video manually. Both features makes it more straightforward to navigate through time, while maintaining control. Whilst operating the slider the newly added time marker gives you exact information how far back in time it has been moved so far. Users can now clearly see exactly where they are when they go through the footage.

14 AEOS Release Guide In the Graphical Alarm Handler footage will be shown according to the size of the camera window. If the camera window has been scaled up higher quality streams will be displayed. Similarly, if you scaled it all the way down a lower quality stream is used. This way you always get the right quality at the right time. It ensures an optimal bandwidth usage and minimal performance load without losing quality of image. You can now clearly see the time of recording, start and finish of the footage when you export the file. This makes it straightforward to export files and use them for research or analytics.

15 AEOS Release Guide The Identity & Authorisation Application is designed to support users in their daily tasks, by means of showing the right information at the right time and reducing the number of clicks to successfully execute their tasks. You now have the freedom to customise the Identity & Authorisation Application to your personal preference with the option of hiding (and showing) all individual widgets. This way the view is always optimised for your personal tasks. Additionally, widgets that should not be accessible by certain users are automatically hidden. By simply dragging and dropping the column to a new location users can easily rearrange the columns in the explore windows. Naturally all the changes are remembered next time the user logs in. It is easier than ever to quickly submit multiple persons to the system. You enter the data once and simply click save & repeat to copy all common fields to a new person form. This is now also possible with all configured free fields. The only thing you need to do now is enter the right name.

16 AEOS Release Guide Information is key when using a security management system. That is why we have invested in clear feedback when blocking cards, so it is immediately clear which card(s) have been blocked. In AEOS we have added base fields in the Identity & Authorisation Applications. This way users of these functionalities don t need to switch to other applications. The SSL encryption is now default when setting up the AEOS Identification & Authorisation Application, Configuration & Maintenance Application and Video Surveillance. This cryptographic protocol provides communication security over your network. It secures the communication between your browser and AEOS, making sure all communication is encrypted and it is verified you are using the AEOS application. AEOS does not use the OpenSSL protocol and as such it is not impacted by the heartbleed security issues.
