4 1 AIM OF THE COURSE Goals and tasks of discipline are ensuring an adequate body of knowledge and skills on the normative - legal standards of information systems for the collection and storage of data. The problem of the discipline is learning the main principles and methods of modern means for collecting and storing data. At the end of the study discipline a student must: know legal and regulatory framework of the state system of standards for engineering data collection systems. be able to read, correct, supplement project documentation of data collection systems. Have skills to use standards for engineering data collection system. Prerequisites: materials technology of electronic devices, standardization, metrology and certification. Postrequisites: devices and systems of displaying information, industrial network of information management systems, technological process automation means. System of evaluation The level of student s progress in studying the course program is evaluated under the scale adopted in the credit education technology (see Table 1). Table 1 Letter assessment Digital equivalent s of points Grade in % Traditional evaluation А Excellent А Excellent В Good В Good В Good С Satisfactory С Satisfactory С Satisfactory D Satisfactory D Satisfactory F Unsatisfactory Evaluation of access rating (AR) is accumulated within a semester. Each kind of academic task is evaluated by 100 point scale and included into the access rating taking into account a coefficient according to Table.
5 Table Parameter Coefficient Laboratory course 0,4 Course work 0,4 Mid-term tests 0,1 Attending lectures 0,1 Total 1,0 Final assessment is calculated as follows: F = 0.6AR + 0.4E where E is a mark at the examination. Maximal grade is given in case of the rhythmic fulfillment and high quality of studying. Points for testing and attending are given according to the number of correct answers and missed lectures. Credit transfer at academic mobility of the university students Credit transfer of ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) into grade-rating letter system and vice versa is carried out according to Tables 3 and 4. Table 3 - Credit transfer of ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) into the graderating letter system of evaluation of students academic achievements in RK. Evaluation Digital Letter Grade in % by ECTS equivalent assessment Traditional evaluation of points А А Excellent В В С В Good D С.0 65 E D Satisfactory FX, F F 0 0 Unsatisfactory Table 4 - Transfer of grade-rating letter system of the Republic of Kazakhstan into ECTS evaluation system Digital Evaluation Letter equivalent of Grade in % Traditional evaluation by ECTS system points А А Excellent А В Good В В Good В С С Satisfactory С Satisfactory D
6 С D D Satisfactory E F Unsatisfactory FX, F Policy of the course - do not be late and do not miss classes; - be attentive and monitor the class scenario suggested by the lecturer and take an active part in classes; - missed classes will be credited if a student miss them for good reasons; - provide course paper not later than in the next-to-last week of the semester; - self-study in the library and at home. Norms of academic ethics: - discipline; - politeness; - goodwill; - honesty; - responsibility; - study in classrooms with off mobile phones. Conflict situations shall be discussed in an open way in the student groups with a lecturer and an advisor; if it is impossible to solve the conflict it shall be reported to the Dean Office.
