8 MOTOR LEGAL EXPENSES If a client is unfortunate enough to be involved in a non-fault motor accident they may expect their insurance to cover all their out of pocket expenses. If they are not responsible for the accident why should they have to suffer financially? Neither third party nor fully comprehensive cover offers protection against potentially substantial financial losses, even after a minor accident. Our Legal Expenses policy will take care of recovering any out of pocket expenses incurred in an accident. We will take all necessary steps to recover any client s losses against the responsible party or their insurer and if necessary, appoint legal representation to reclaim the client s losses through the courts without any cost to them. Clients may need assistance from specialist solicitors. On our panel we have access to firms with an array of specialist fields. These firms are strictly monitored to ensure the standard of work produced is extremely high and consistent, ensuring the client benefits from an unrivaled standard of quality service.

9 MOTOR LEGAL EXPENSES Limit of Cover 50,000 to 125,000 We will pay the legal representatives fees and expenses as well as any adverse costs which the client may be asked to pay should they lose their claim. Cover is in place to pursue: Uninsured losses arising out of damage to the policyholder s vehicle Uninsured losses arising out of loss or damage to any personal belongings in or on the vehicle Any other uninsured losses sustained by the client Cover can also include personal injury claims depending on the level of cover selected Uninsured losses can be: Loss of use Repair costs Policy excess Personal injury Loss of earnings Damaged property Vehicle hire charges The vehicle insured by the policy can be either a private car, motorcycle or small private van. Excess There is no excess to pay when the legal representative is nominated by ULR Additions. However there is a charge of 250 should the legal representative be nominated by the policyholder to cover additional administrative costs throughout the claim.

10 BIKERS HELMET COVER Modern motorcycle helmets provide impact and abrasion protection from the moment riders hit the road until they come to a stop, but this essential protection comes at a cost with helmets being the most expensive part of a biker s clothing and safety equipment. If a helmet is damaged or has suffered any sign of impact immediate replacement is recommended. Our bikers helmet cover is specifically designed to assist bikers with the expense of replacing their damaged helmet following a motorcycle accident which occurs in the UK and up to the relevant level of indemnity. The policy will pay the client directly for the damaged items on receipt of proof of purchase.

11 Limit of Cover 1000 BIKERS HELMET COVER Cover in respect of: Damage to the policyholder s helmet following a road traffic accident The policy will pay the policyholder directly for the damaged helmet on receipt of proof of purchase Bikers helmet cover will provide cover following a motorcycle accident which occurs within the UK and up to the level of indemnity. 12 BREAKDOWN COVER Our Breakdown suite of policies have been designed for the motorists who want to protect themselves against the troubles of motoring and to ensure that should the worst happen, immediate assistance is always available, no matter whether its during rush hour on the motorway or in the early hours of the morning. We have designed four levels of cover to get you back in the fast lane with immediate assistance: Bronze Breakdown Cover Includes UK Local Recovery & Roadside Assistance Silver Breakdown Cover Includes UK Local Recovery, Roadside Assistance & Homestart. Gold Breakdown Cover Includes UK National Assistance, Homestart & Roadside Assistance. Platinum Breakdown Cover Includes Europe & UK National Assistance, Homestart & Roadside Assistance

13 BREAKDOWN COVER Roadside Assistance Cover We will arrange for a vehicle rescue operator to spend up to one hour to try to fix it We will arrange for the vehicle to be taken to a local garage to be repaired at a cost to the policyholder Home Start Should a breakdown occur at or within one mile of the policyholder s home, we will arrange to send out one of our vehicle rescue operators If it cannot be fixed we will arrange for the vehicle to be taken to a local garage to be repaired at a cost to the policyholder UK National Recovery & Assistance If the vehicle cannot be repaired at the roadside or at a local garage the same day we will arrange one of the following: For the vehicle, driver and up to 6 passengers to be taken to the policyholder s destination or home; or Bed and breakfast accommodation for one night; or Hire of another vehicle An emergency driver is also available European Recovery Assistance If the vehicle is immobilised by a breakdown in Europe we will arrange to send out one of our vehicle rescue operators Cover also includes: Labour charges and parts up to 200 are included to make the vehicle secure following theft or attempted theft of the vehicle Delivery of replacement parts Alternative travel arrangements & Emergency accommodation Emergency hire car & Emergency driver cover Vehicle recovery to the UK Excess There is no excess to pay when making a claim

14 CHILD CAR SEAT, PRAM & PUSHCHAIR COVER A child s pram, pushchair and even a car booster seat are expensive items to purchase and with these fundamental items travelling everywhere with a child, it is important to ensure they are safe, secure and not damaged. If a child car seat is involved in a motor accident, even though there may be no visible damage, it is possible that it will have been weakened to such an extent that it will not provide the same level of protection in another motor collision. Should the policyholder s child car seats, booster seats, prams or pushchairs be damaged as a result of a motor accident, fire, theft or attempted theft whilst in the vehicle we will provide cover to replace the damaged or stolen item.

16 GADGET COVER IN-VEHICLE PROTECTION Modern day living means that our electronic gadgets are now part and parcel of our everyday lives with the majority of us taking them with us wherever we go. It can be quite stressful and inconvenient should our favourite gadgets accidentally break or are even stolen and to be able to replace them can quite often be a large financial commitment. With the cost of modern day gadgets ever increasing, the cost of replacement can also be expensive and depending on the model can run into hundreds of pounds. Our gadget cover will provide cover without the need for the policyholder to claim on their main motor or household policies, with no policy excess to pay and keeping any no claims discount intact. The policy offers to indemnify the insured against theft and accidental damage of their valuable gizmos and gadgets including property insured such as ipods, PDA s, MP3 and DVD players.

17 Limit of Cover GADGET COVER IN-VEHICLE PROTECTION Cover for the chosen level of indemnity in respect of; Theft of the policyholder s gadget Accidental damage to the policyholder s gadget Types of Gadgets Covered; ipods MP3 Players PDAs Portable DVD Players Mobile Phones Up to two claims can be made under this policy up to the chosen level of indemnity in total. No affect to the No Claims Discount on the policyholder s main policy Excess 25 per claim. The Gadget Cover product range includes the following levels of indemnity to choose from: 250 (or a maximum of 2 claims up to 250) 500 (or a maximum of 2 claims up to 500) 750 (or a maximum of 2 claims up to 750) 1,000 (or a maximum of 2 claims up to 1,000)

18 GAP COVER In the unfortunate case of a motor accident, regardless of fault, the motor insurers will usually only pay out the current market value on the vehicle, regardless of how much shortfall this could leave your client with. This could be several thousand pounds compared to the value of the car when it was purchased due to vehicle depreciation. Our GAP Cover Insurance will cover your client in circumstances where their vehicle is written off by their motor insurer and there is a difference between the price they paid for the vehicle and the amount paid out by the insurer. This policy will fund the difference between the two, providing that the vehicle did not cost more than 50,000 and was less than eight years old at the date of purchase of the policy. Bearing in mind that some insurers agree to replace a new vehicle within a set time frame if involved in an accident our cover can even be deferred for a year if required. Cover extends to claims where your client s vehicle is written off in the UK, Isle of man and Channel Islands. They are also covered whist travelling in the EU, Croatia, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Andorra for a maximum of 90 days in any 12 month cover period, providing the cover provided by their motor insurer is equivalent to that they enjoy in the UK.

19 Limit of Cover GAP COVER Covers up to 25,000 dependant on cover stated on the policy schedule. Covers the difference between what is paid out by the policyholder s insurance and the amount you purchased the vehicle for. Covers vehicles with a purchase price of up to 50,000 Covers vehicles that are less that eight years old at the time of purchase Cover where your vehicle is written off by the policyholders insurer Additional Benefits Covers when travelling abroad for up to 90 days over a 12 month period in the EU, as well as: Croatia Iceland Norway Switzerland Liechtenstein Andorra Excess There is no excess to pay when making a claim.

20 HELMET & LEATHERS COVER Modern motorcycle clothing provides impact and abrasion protection from the moment riders hit the road until they come to a stop, but this essential protection comes at a cost with helmets and leathers now costing on average around 500. Damaged leathers offer considerably less protection and if a helmet has suffered any sign of impact immediate replacement is recommended. Our Helmets & Leathers cover is specifically designed to assist bikers with the expense of repairing or replacing their damaged motorcycle clothing, helmet, boots and gloves following a motorcycle accident which occurs in the UK and up to the relevant level of indemnity. The policy will pay the client directly for the damaged items on receipt of proof of purchase.

21 HELMET & LEATHERS COVER Limit of Cover Covers 1000 or 1500 in respect of: Damage caused following a road traffic accident for; Helmets Leathers Boots Gloves The policy will pay the policyholder directly for the damaged items on receipt of proof of purchase. This policy will provide cover following a motorcycle accident which occurs within the UK and up to the relevant level of indemnity. Excess 50

22 MOT, ALLOY WHEEL & MISFUELLING COVER This policy is suitable for all drivers and offers your client assurance that they have protection should one of these common issues occur. If a client s vehicle fails the MOT inspection due to a faulty or defective component, we will cover the cost of repair and get the client back on the road as quickly as possible. If the client s vehicle can be shown to have failed the MOT standard and has a Refusal of an MOT test Certificate (VT30) our policy will cover the cost of replacement parts or repair, including labour and VAT. Damaged alloys certainly do not have Kerb Appeal and our Alloy Wheel policy will pay the cost of repairs and offers the client the assurance their car can continue to look great. In the modern world, as people are moving from car to car it is easy to fill your diesel engine with petrol or vice versa. The damage could be extensive as well as inconvenient. The additional benefit of this product is the Misfuelling Cover, and as 17 motorists every hour will tell you, filling your car with the incorrect fuel can be disastrous and very expensive to repair. The vehicle repair costs for the 150,000 drivers who made this mistake totalled 50 million*, the average cost of the mistake being typically 300. *Source Auto Express Magazine May 2008

24 MOTOR EXCESS PROTECTION Any incident can be a shock but can be quickly followed by an equally unpleasant one when your client is asked to pay the excess charge. With the benefit of our motor excess protection the additional burden of paying the excess is removed. Motor excess protection will reimburse the excess paid on any claim for malicious damage, accidental damage, fire, theft or attempted theft. Our motor excess protection policy offers more than just protection to clients, firstly by having excess protection clients may wish to increase the excess on their policy therefore potentially reducing their initial premium. It could even make it financially viable for the client to opt for a fully comprehensive policy. E X C E S S

26 SCRATCH & DENT COVER We understand that for many motorists, their vehicle can be their pride and joy and a lot of effort and care goes into ensuring their vehicle remains in excellent condition. Unfortunately over time a pristine paint job on a vehicle can suffer from scratches and dents from road debris and general wear and tear for example. The financial cost of fixing these issues, however minor, can work out extremely costly. Our Scratch & Dent policy provides cover up to 1000 to cover the cost of repairs arising from accidental scratches and dents to the body work of your vehicle or to the alloy wheels. More than one claim can be made in one period of insurance providing that the total sum claimed does not exceed 1,000 in respect of scratches and dents. Cover is in place for both the registered keeper of the vehicle and the person in charge of the vehicle at the time the insured incident occurs. Cover on this policy extends to incidents that occur in Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.

27 Limit of Cover 1,000 SCRATCH & DENT COVER Cover for 1,000 in respect of: Accidental scratches to the paintwork Accidental dents to the bodywork Accidental damage to the Alloy Wheels More than one claim can be made on the policy providing: Total sum claimed does not exceed 1,000 for scratches, dents and alloy wheels Covers policyholder and extends to anyone in charge of the vehicle when the incident happens. No affect to the No Claims Discount on the main policy Cover on this policy extends to incidents that occur in Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. Excess 50

28 SUBSTITUTE VEHICLE COVER It is common practice with most insurers that their policies only offer a courtesy vehicle when the client s vehicle is being repaired after an accident. Our substitute vehicle cover is designed to help keep your clients on the move by providing a solution for accident and theft claims and can include a vehicle which is deemed a total loss. This product can be tailored to suit your needs, from the type of vehicle to the duration of hire. We can adjust the product, including the risk specifications, to best compliment your client s main policy. The hire vehicle is provided through our network of approved providers and the hire vehicle will be delivered to a convenient location within the UK.

29 Limit of Cover Cover for up to 7, 14, 21 or 28 days hire vehicle as a result of: The policyholder s vehicle being stolen and not recovered, The policyholder s vehicle being written off as a result of an accident, fire or act of vandalism Other risks such as the vehicle being rendered undriveable can be included The policyholder will be supplied with: A car with similar engine size to their own A van with a similar capacity to their own They can opt for 150 cash payment instead of a hire vehicle The type of vehicle or maximum specifications can be tailor made. Cover extends to the United Kingdom. 30 TAXI EXCESS PROTECTION Any incident can be a shock but can be quickly followed by an equally unpleasant one when asked to pay the excess charge, especially for businesses. With the benefit of our Taxi Excess Protection policy, the additional burden of bearing the excess is lifted. Cover is in place for the policyholder and named drivers on the motor insurance. Taxi Excess Protection will reimburse the excess paid to the client s motor insurer on making a claim. Our excess protection policy offers you more than just protection. By having excess protection the client could increase the excess on their policy therefore potentially reducing their initial premium. It could even make it financially viable for them to opt for a fully comprehensive motor policy.

31 Limit of Cover TAXI EXCESS PROTECTION The amount of the policyholder s motor insurance excess, to a maximum of the specified level of indemnity. Taxi Excess Protection product range includes the following levels of indemnity: 500 1,000 1,500 2,000 The Excess Protection product range includes the following: Motor Excess Protect Lifestyle Excess Protect Home Excess Protect Excess There is no excess to pay when making a claim.

32 TOOLS IN TRANSIT COVER Losing or damaging tools whilst in a vehicle can have a serious financial effect on a clients ability to earn their necessary income. Our Tools in Transit cover creates peace of mind when tools and equipment are lost, damaged or stolen whilst in transit, for a policyholder is still able to continue with their trade and not suffer financially. Most commercial van insurance policies will not automatically provide cover for goods or tools in the vehicle. Our Tools in Transit Cover can be purchased to compliment the client s existing cover for this expensive occurrence. The policy provides cover up to an agreed level of indemnity in the event that the client s property, or property they are responsible for, is lost, stolen, destroyed or damaged when being loaded into, carried in, or unloaded from their vehicle. ULR s range of policy levels ensure no matter how large or small a business, there is a policy suitable and able to cover the tools whilst in transit.

33 TOOLS IN TRANSIT COVER Limit of Cover Provides the policyholder with cover for up to 1500 per item and up to the specified level of cover chosen per policy period to: Cover their tools of the trade Cover their tools of the trade if they are damaged or stolen whilst in the vehicle Cover their tools of the trade if they are damaged whilst being loaded on and unloaded from their vehicle They may make any number of claims as long as the total sum claims does not exceed the specified sum No affect to the No Claims Discount on the policyholder s main policy. This policy will (at the insurer s option): Pay a sum in respect of their value; or Repair the tools; or Replace the tools; or Reinstate the tools The Tools in Transit product range includes the following levels of indemnity to choose from: 500 1,000 2,500 5,000 7,500 10,000 Excess 100

34 UNINSURED DRIVER PROTECTION Despite the insurance industry and police doing all they can to stamp out the issues, unfortunately around 1 in 20 drivers is uninsured on Britains roads. Whilst the Motor Insurers Bureau can help with some claims against uninsured drivers who cause accidents, there is a significant risk of additional expense or unrecovered loss to the innocent motorist. This policy will provide a payment of to the policyholder if they are the victim of an accident caused by an uninsured driver. Whilst clients can pursue a claim through the Motor Insurers Bureau claims may be subject to an excess of 300. Our policy provides a payment of 500 in the event that a client s vehicle is involved in a road traffic accident caused by an identified but uninsured driver.

35 UNINSURED DRIVER PROTECTION Limit of Cover 500 cover payable as the result of an accident with an identified uninsured driver. One claims can be made per policy term. The policy covers accidents that occur in Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. Cover extends to the policyholder together with any person aged 19 years or over who is named as a driver under the motor insurance policy. Excess There is no excess to pay when making a claim.

36 WINDSCREEN COVER Our Windscreen & Glass Cover provides indemnity options to insure your clients windscreen and glass windows in respect of breakage or damage. We will cover any damage to the windscreen that is sufficient to cause your vehicle to fail its MOT test. There are two ways in which a claim can be made. If opting to use our recommended glass repair/replacement provider we will arrange for our glass repair/replacement provider to contact and arrange for the broken or damaged glass to be repaired or replaced. Alternatively the option to instruct a glass repair/replacement provider of choice is also available. However the client will still need to contact us before work is carried out and they will also be asked to pay the provider in full and send us a receipt for them to be reimbursed. Please note a higher excess is applied when opting to use a glass repair/replacement provider of choice

45 Limit of Cover Any One Claim 100,000 The aggregate of all Claims notified during the period of insurance: 1,000,000 This policy will cover the policholder for; Criminal Prosecutions. Defence of the insured in a criminal court, and appeals against a Service of Improvement or Prohibition Notice under Health & Safety and Food Safety Legislation Tax Protection including costs incurred as a result of a HMRC full enquiry which includes a request to examine all of their books and records, PAYE disputes arising following a compliance review and a VAT dispute following a visit undertaken by HMRC The policyholder will also have access to online HR and Health and Safety documents 24/7. Excess COMMERCIAL TRADESMAN 250 if our appointed representatives are used 1000 if the policyholder s own appointed representatives are used.

46 LANDLORD HOME EMERGENCY Landlords can have peace of mind that they are always prepared for the unexpected with our Landlord Home Emergency policy for residential lets. This policy has been designed to compliment a landlord s buildings insurance policy and ensures protection is available around the clock for both the landlord and their residential property. The policy provides up to 300 of cover per claim should an emergency arise. Assistance is available 24/7, 365 days a year from fully qualified tradesmen who are able to attend the property in the event of an insured emergency. Examples of an emergency to a residential property include: Failure of the central heating system such as a faulty boiler; Failure of the gas system; Plumbing or drainage issues; Failure of the electricity to the property.

47 LANDLORD HOME EMERGENCY Limit of Cover Insured emergencies: 300 (inc VAT) per claim. Alternative Accommodation: 100 (inc VAT) per claim. The cover will pay for a temporary repair in the event of: Burst pipes or sudden leakage which is likely to cause damage to the policyholder s property or contents Complete heating or hot water failure Failure of any of the mains supplies of water, gas or electricity Blockage, breaking or flooding of drains or sewers Inoperable toilet where no other toilet is available in the policyholder s property Failure of or damage to the property s external locks, doors or windows which affects the security of the property Failure of the roofing, down-piping or guttering and water and damage being a likely result of such failure Infestation of pests Will cover permanent repair if more cost effective Additional Benefit: 100 overnight accommodation should the policyholder s property become uninhabitable for their tenants. Excess There is no excess to pay when making a claim.

48 RESIDENTIAL LANDLORD LEGAL Our Residential Landlord Legal Insurance provides landlords with cover to pursue or defend a claim arising from a problematic tenant over property legal disputes and rental recovery. This removes many of the worries landlords have and also provides a `Dial an Expert` advice line. This gives the client access to consultants who are available to assist with practical advice on income tax, VAT, employment, health and safety and general legal issues. Increased protection can also be purchased which will provide rent guarantee, safeguarding landlords against missed rental payments. We can provide additional landlord services as part of our CommercialPlus range of products.

49 RESIDENTIAL LANDLORD LEGAL Limits of Cover A total of all claims notified in any one period of insurance 500,000. Any one claim: 100,000. This policy will cover the policyholder for up to 100,000 of legal fees per claim, for matters such as: Possession of the property Nuisance emanating from the property Damage to the property caused by the tenant or a third party Rent recovery - provided the tenant has defaulted on payment and accumulated rental arrears of over 1000 Landlord attendance expenses up to 100 per day up to 1000 in the event that you need to attend court The policyholder will also have unlimited access to 24/7 365 days a year legal advice from our qualified specialists Excess Nil where the insured has obtained a positive personal reference in respect of the tenant or the tenant has passed a credit reference check; or 200 where the insured did not obtain a positive personal reference in respect of the tenant or the tenant did not pass a credit reference check 1000 if an alternative appointed representative is used

These changes, together with the downturn in the economic market, increased competition and a rise in governmental regulations, are accelerating the pace of change within the industry bringing growing demands for new insurance services and more flexible and imaginative property solutions. Our Residential Landlord Legal Premier Insurance policy will provide protection in the event that your client suffers unexpected issues with the tenant in their property. They will also have the assurance that if their tenant defaults on rent, the policy will reimburse the monthly rental income up to 2,500 per monthly rental income to a maximum of 25,000 or 12 months rent, giving your client s security that they will not be out of pocket.

54 SECOND HOME LEGAL EXPENSES Whatever type of holiday caravan insurance or leisure home insurance you provide, we are able to enhance the cover by providing legal expenses insurance to your clients who own a second home, static caravan, park home, chalet, lodge or log cabin. The policy covers legal and professional fees, costs and expenses up to 50,000 in connection with pursuing civil legal proceedings in respect of insured incidents. You will not only benefit from a 24 hour, 7 days a week claims line, but also a 24/7 legal advice line. FamilyPlus covers matters such as property disputes, personal injury, breach of contract and employment disputes including unfair dismissal. 56 HOME BUYER PROTECTION Our Home Buyer Protect policy is a simple policy designed to give peace of mind in reference to home buying.
