2 Shri Vishnu Engineering College for Women(Autonomous):: Bhimavaram SUMMARY A 4-day workshop on Android Hackshop - Android app Development" was held in two phases i.e from 11 th to 12 th April 2015 & 18 th to 19 th April 2015.The workshop was intended for developing the application development skills on android platform. The perquisite for the participants for attending workshop is to have basic knowledge in java programming. About 60 students and 3 faculty members from the department of Information Technology attended the workshop. The day 1 ( ) was started with Prof. P. Venkata Rama Raju HOD IT Department inaugurating the workshop. Mr.T. Vasu (Senior Systems Engineer) Infosys gave the introductory talk on mobile application trends and career opportunities. The technical session was handled by Mr. Pavan Kumar Kusuma (Developer at Infosys). The topics covered are installation of android applications and UI Layouts. Hands on training was given to all participants. On day 2 ( ), topics like storing data using SQLite database were covered. Between th April 2015, assignments given to the students and they were asked to submit all these assignments on 18 th April The phase-ii of the workshop was started on 18 th April The resource persons cleared the doubts raised by the students regarding the assignments. The topics like menus and external database using parse.com were covered on this day. On left over topics in android training were covered and deployment of the app "SVECW smart Campus" in google play store was covered. The valedictory function was presided by the coordinator of this workshop Dr. D.V.Naga Raju. Associate professor, Dept. of IT. The participation certificates were distributed to the student participants.

Only the app from Indiawhich compet ed with startups from 250+ cities and got selected in Global Startup Battle top 14 finalists. Winner (Smart DC) of Infosys Global Hackathon 2015 and selected for Infosys Awards For Excellence(AFE).
