8 Credential Interface Model Carriers or service bureaus rely on PC-based software to apply for and receive credentials States implement a credential interface for purposes of routing and managing incoming transactions from industry State or vendor personnel develop interfaces from the credential interface to existing state legacy systems to support the exchange of data Each legacy system processes the transaction and returns credential to customer via the credential interface

12 Credentialing Portal Model Motor carriers apply for and receive credentials using a web browser The Portal is the single point of access to the state customers are only required to maintain one password The portal provides single sign-on, account management, and e-payment in one location The portal is integrated with the web applications provided by each agency, thus giving agencies control of their back-end systems

13 What is a Portal? An e-credentialing e portal is the focal point for conducting day-to to-day business with a state. The portal provides A single source for carriers to interact with disparate agency systems A single source for all motor carrier information - How do I conduct business on-line? - What state policy changes will impact my business? A common point of interaction with existing or emerging statewide technology infrastructure (e-payment, single sign-on)
