This week you will learn creating sectional views. The steps to follow are: Cutting Plane Types of sectional views Hatching (full, half, detailed etc) Assembly Sections Creating Section Views in CADD 1
Sectional views are usually produced (a) (b) (c) (d) (e) (f) to clarify details of the object, to illustrate internal features clearly, to reduce the number of hidden-detail lines, to facilitate the dimensioning of internal features, to show the shape of the cross-section, to show clearly the relative positions of parts forming an assembly. 2
Cutting Plane Cutting plane lines typically lay in a view adjacent to the section view and represent the cutting path of the cross section 3
Cutting Plane Line 4
Full section Half section 5
Offset section Local section Aligned section Revolved section 6
Assembly Sections a) Views show how the parts fit together b) Individual components are identified by the use of numbers c) Adjacent components are hatched with a different properties (angle or scale) d) Standard components such as bolts, nuts are not hatched 7
Using the BHATCH (Boundary Hatch) Command Command: BHATCH 8
