5 Consider Software Engineering Software engineering is the study and application of engineering to the design, development, and maintenance of software. Computer science focuses on math and algorithms. As a Software Engineering Major, you will take courses in design patterns, project management, agile methods, validation & verification and learn all aspects of how to make a development project successful.
