WHEATON ASTON LONG STREET (south side) SJ 81 SE 5/70 Main Farmhouse Farmhouse. C17 rear wing and early C19 frontage. Red brick, rendered to front with timber frame to rear wing; brown machine tile roofs and end stacks. Two storey, lower at rear, with two window front and gable lit attics, central entrance. C19 casements with segmental heads, six panelled front door. Stone kneelers to verge parapets. Two bay rear wing in square panels, with diagonal braces at trusses, possibly formerly forming a three-bay unit with gabled street frontage.

3 LOWER-PENN C.P. SPRINGHILL LANE (west side) 2/111 Malthouse Cottage and attached Maltings (Formerly listed under Dirty Foot Lane) Cottage. C17, remodelled late C19. Timber framed, partly replaced with brick, the front roughcast and painted white; plain tile roof; brick integral end stack and ridge stack. One storey and attic; 3 windows, casements, gabled attic dormers, breaking through eaves. C20 gabled porch to left of centre with gabled door. Attached to left is a late C18/C19 maltings with brick kiln to front with pyramidal tiled roof and rectangular cowl and storey projecting to left at rear. Irregular openings with segmental heads on both floors. The interior is thought to survive with kiln and quarry tiled floor to maltings. Interior: Exposed timber framing of small square panels. DIRTYFOOT LANE (west side) 2/112 Lower Penn Farmhouse Farmhouse, now house. C16/17 in origin, remodelled and extended in the early C18 in at least 2 phases; restored in the 1980s. Red brick (Flemish bond) replacing earlier timber framing; plain tile roofs; brick ridge stacks. L-shaped plan; main house aligned north/south facing east with service wing on the same alignment to the north and southern cross wing projecting to the west. Main 2- gabled house to the left with straight joint at the junction of the gables, recessed 2-bay service wing with roof line at 2 different levels to the right. Main house. 2 storeys and attic; 2:3 windows, C20 glazing bar casements within C18 openings with segmental heads and dripstone bands. Central C20 door within C18 opening with segmental head; C20 rustic porch. Service wing. In 2 parts: 2 -storey left hand bay, single storey right hand bay, both with dentilled eaves band and C20 glazing bar casements. Left hand bay has a central C20 glazed door and a boarded first floor door to the right approached by a flight of brick and stone steps; ground floor of left hand bays is protected by a leanto, open fronted porch. Rear. Main house to right, service wing to left. Main house. 2 gables, crosswing to the right projects forward. 2 storeys and attic; roughly 2:1 bays, mainly C20 casements in C18 openings with segmental heads; mid-c19 bay window to ground floor of crosswing containing trench casements, early C20 stair window to right hand of main house. The service wing has a leanto dairy and a conservatory attached to the rear. Interior. Early C18 newel staircase with turned balusters; C17 dog leg staircase with splat balusters; the timberwork was largely replaced in the late C20 but the original design was closely followed. Chamfered and stopped ceiling beams. One timber cross frame is exposed, it has square panels and a queen strut roof truss.

4 LANGLEY ROAD (south side) 2/113 Langley Farmhouse and attached garden wall and gate piers Shown on O.S. map as Langley Hall Farm. Farmhouse wall and gate piers. Mid-C18. Red brick, plain tile roof; brick external end stacks. 2 storeys and gable-lit attic with storey bands and dentilled eaves band. 3 windows, 16-pane glazing bar sashes, first floor windows to left and right have false external shutters. Central C20 door and rustic porch with hipped roof. Interior. Large open fireplace with castiron fittings. Staircase lobby immediately inside front door, plain dog-leg staircase. Attached garden wall encloses the right hand side and the front of a front garden, square end piers, and square gate piers in the centre of the front wall, with gadrooned vase. RADFORD LANE (west side) 2/114 Castlecroft Farmhouse Farmhouse. Early C18. Painted brick; plain tile roof; brick external lateral stacks to rear and internal end stack. Aligned parallel to the road, facing west. 2 storeys and attic; 3 windows, casements with segmental heads and leaded panes, C19 bracketed bow window to ground floor left, gabled attic dormer to the right. Central gabled porch of circa 1840 with Tudor arch openings in the front and sides. 2-storey single-bay wing attached to the right, with casements and a blocked segmental headed door. Lean-to dairy extension to the left. The most prominent feature to the rear, which faces the road is the pair of massive lateral chimney stacks which flank the back door. Interior. Winder staircase directly in front of the door; chamfered and stopped cross beams; cheese press in the dairy. SPRINGHILL LANE (north side) 2/115 The Walnut Cottage. C17. Timber framed; fish scale tile roof; brick central stack. 2-cell plan. One storey and attic, 3 square panels to eaves, with straight braces. 2 windows, C19 bay windows to ground floor, flat-- roofed attic dormers. Door to right. Queen strut roof trusses.

5 SPRINGHILL LANE (south side) 2/116 Manor Farmhouse Farmhouse. Mid-C18. Red brick; plain tile roof with raised verges; brick integral end stacks. L-shaped plan, principal range aligned east-west facing north with rear wing to the east aligned north-south. 3 storeys, reduced proportions to second floor, eaves band. 5 bays, casements, ground and first floor windows have segmental heads. Central door with gabled rustic porch. Single-storey extension wing to the right with separate entrance. Interior not inspected. SHOWELL LANE (north side) 2/153 Orton House and attached former stable and washhouse (formerly in Wombourne C.P.) Farmhouse now house. Mid-C18. Red brick; plain tile roof with stepped verges. L-shaped plan; main house aligned east-west facing south with wing and attached outbuildings to the rear. 3 storeys, reduced proportions to the second floor; coved eaves. 5 bays, casements, those to ground and first floors have wedge shaped lintels grooved as voussoirs and raised keys. Central 6-panel door with rectangular overlight and wooden door case with gabled hood. Insurance plate to first floor left. To the right hand gable are 2 sets of flight ledges and blocked entrances to a former pigeon loft. Interior. Newel staircase with solid balustrade. Attached to the rear wing is a former stable and washhouse dated 1741.
