1 Trans-Pacific Service Fact Sheet Japan Airlines awarded the most punctual major global airline in 2009, is a member of the oneworld Alliance and has a global network reaching more than 200 airports in over 30 countries and regions with its codeshare partners. Domestically, the airline covers some 50 airports throughout Japan. JAL s fleet includes Boeing 777s, 767s, s and Brazilianmade regional jets, Embraer E170. Japan Airlines' North American gateways include New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu and Vancouver. It offers the airlines latest seats in First class and Executive class launched in summer 2008, as well as the award-winning Premium Economy service and economy class on its newest Boeing ER aircraft between Narita and New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. To San Francisco from Haneda, JAL the only airline operating on this route uses a Boeing ER with Executive, Premium Economy and Economy services. FIRST CLASS JAL SUITE Check in: Dedicated Counters are available for JAL First Class guests. Complimentary Lounge Access: Passengers are invited to the JAL First Class or Sakura lounges including at JAL s main international hubs. At Narita and Haneda airports, the JAL First Class lounge includes full dining with hot and cold menus, as well as relaxation areas, business centres, private showers, and massage chairs. At Narita, personal massages are also available with advanced reservations. Onboard: Leading-edge seat products, including the JAL SUITE in First Class, are highlights in the cabin s interior. The JAL SUITE, available on continental U.S. routes, is made from a range of the latest composite materials providing a sophisticated finish. Upholstered in exceptionally comfortable leather with 5-inch wide, thickly padded armrests, the seat is reminiscent of a traditional lounge chair and convenient one-touch buttons allow for custom positioning. When the seat is converted into a 180-degree flat bed, the armrests concurrently retract providing additional width. The leather ottoman, which doubles as guest seating, completes the bed. For added comfort, a custom-fitted Tempur mattress is placed atop by the cabin crew along with a down comforter and choice of pillow. The JAL SUITE also boasts a large 19-inch personal monitor and the experience are enhanced further with high performance, noise-cancelling BOSE headphones. Amenities: Guests are offered two types of amenity kits (male or female), which include special moisture masks and quality Shiseido products in addition to toothbrush/ paste, an eye mask, earplugs and comb. Slippers and relax wear are also offered to each guest.

2 Priority Baggage: JAL First Class guests are the first to deplane and their baggage is offloaded as priority. EXECUTIVE CLASS Check-in: Dedicated counters are available to JAL Executive Class guests. Lounges: Complimentary access to JAL s Sakura Lounge is available to guests. Onboard: Seats in JAL Executive Class Seasons on most continental U.S. routes have been redesigned for added comfort, privacy and functionality. The JAL SHELL FLAT NEO is softer than the original version and is made with slip-proof upholstery. The seat s controls have also been repositioned for easier access and visibility. Large, 15.4-inch TV monitors have also been incorporated as well as additional storage and larger privacy panels. Amenities: Amenities offered to Executive Class guests include toothbrush/paste, eye and moisture masks, earplugs and a comb. Slippers are also offered, and guests may ask for a cardigan for a more relaxed journey. PREMIUM ECONOMY and ECONOMY JAL Premium Economy is located in its own exclusive cabin area, and features the awardwinning JAL Sky Shell Seat with 20% more legroom than standard economy. The seat s clever shell shaped slide down design ensures that each passenger s private space is maintained throughout the flight, undisturbed even when the seat in front is reclined. For added comfort, the seat offers a footrest and a fully adjustable headrest. In addition to complimentary access to JAL lounges prior to travel, JAL Premium Economy customers also receive the same inflight amenities that are offered to JAL s business class customers including eye masks, slippers and toothbrush sets. Every seat also has its own power outlet suitable for personal computers, and a seat tray that can easily accommodate a fully opened A-4 sized laptop. New Economy Class seats have also been installed on the airline s ER aircraft and boast a Hammock Headrest for added comfort. In addition, seatbacks are fitted with 9-inch personal TV screens for customers to enjoy audio-visual-on-demand (AVOD) inflight entertainment. IN-FLIGHT Menus: JAL First Class and Executive Class Seasons menus are carefully considered and their Japanese menus use the finest ingredients and subtly infused seasonal flavours to create a perfect balance. Innovative Western dishes carefully blend prepared ingredients with specially selected condiments.

3 Meals are accompanied by complimentary award-winning wines as well as traditional sakes (Japanese rice wine). Also, quite unique to the industry, Japan Airlines has over a thousand cabin crew that have voluntarily become qualified members of the Japan Sommeliers Association. On long-haul flights, passengers don't have to wait to be served and can help themselves to an array of snacks and beverages at JAL s in-flight Sky Oasis. Entertainment: JAL s MAGIC in-flight entertainment system will make the hours fly by with the latest movies, games and audio programming covering everything from the latest pop tunes to traditional Rakugo-style Japanese comic monologues. All JAL aircraft on routes to the USA are also equipped with Audio Video On Demand (AVOD) technology, available in all four classes of service offering a selection of 132 movie, music, video and game channels. AVOD gives passengers the freedom to start, stop, fast forward or rewind programs of their choice. DEDICATION TO THE ENVIRONMENT Aside from improving operational practices, JAL has been a long-time contributor to the environment and society. For example, it has been assisting in forest-fire surveillance, atmospheric air research and environmental education where JAL pilots reach out to elementary school children to teach them about the importance of preserving nature. In 2009, JAL was awarded the prestigious Condé Nast World Savers Award for the most environmental global airline. And in October 2010, the JAL Group was recognized by the Ministry of the Environment of Japan as an Eco-First company. Japan Airlines also successfully conducted Asia s first ASPIRE flight as part of a program that seeks to establish industry-wide aviation standards and procedures that can reduce the environmental footprint of air travel. The airline also successfully conducted a demonstration flight using a sustainable biofuel refined from the energy crop, camelina. SUPPORTING RELIEF EFFORTS AROUND THE WORLD In response to major natural disasters such as the recent earthquake in Haiti and Indonesia s Sumatra island, JAL has extended free transport of relief goods and aid personnel at the request of non-profit public organizations based in Japan, such as the Japanese Red Cross, and other Japanese aid organizations. UNIVERSAL DESIGN The customer-friendly principles of Universal Design have been incorporated into numerous aspects of Japan Airlines business including seat designs to ensure that they are usable by as many people as possible. In addition, new JAL check-in counters at Haneda have taken into consideration the needs of every passenger. The airline has also won the coveted Good Design award in several categories.

4 Trans-Pacific Service Fact Sheet American Airlines is committed to investing in its products and services to enhance the onboard travel experience. The company s Boeing 777 aircraft service flights between the U.S. and Tokyo. BOEING 777 American s fleet of 47 Boeing 777 aircraft primarily provide long-haul service to cities in Europe and Asia and on selected routes in the United States and Latin America. Premium Class Cabins Flagship Suite Seat: The First Class cabin onboard American s 777 is outfitted with 16 Flagship Suite seats in a configuration. Considered one of the most comfortable and popular First Class seats in the industry, each Flagship Suite transforms into a fully flat six-foot, six-inch bed with drop-down armrests that allow for easier access and more sleeping space. Each suite features privacy dividers, power ports, leather headrests, two large tray tables, a swivel seat and a host of other comforts designed to enhance the travel experience. Lie-Flat-at-an-Angle Seat: The Business Class cabin offers 37 seats in a configuration. The fully adjustable lie-flat seat has a nine degree recline angle and five independent motors that offer extensive flexibility. Passengers can individually adjust any component of the seat, including the seat bottom, seat back, head rest, leg rest and leg-rest extension. An innovative tray table design has two separate tables one that lowers from the seat-back shell, and a second that lifts from the center console. The tables can be used separately or together to create one large work or dining surface. Entertainment: Premium class passengers traveling on a Boeing 777 aircraft can view programming on adjustable in-seat entertainment devices offering a wide selection of feature movies, current news, music, games and television shows via audio and video on-demand with the ability to fast-forward and rewind through the program. The inseat entertainment features a touch screen 10.6-inch tilting monitor and provides up to 47 feature movies, 75 hours of television, 30 music CDs, a variety of games, and 16 American Airlines-branded audio programs. Inflight entertainment language options vary by market and include English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Chinese and Japanese. Power Source: Each seat is equipped with a DC power outlet that delivers 15V of direct current (and up to 75 watts). American does not provide adapters, but they are available for purchase on the Tax Free cart internationally where Tax Free shopping is offered. Fine Dining and Wine: American Airlines continues to refine the inflight dining service in anticipation of travelers food and beverage desires. Using expert knowledge from members of the American Airlines Chefs Conclave and from other celebrity consulting chefs, the airline offers a range of innovative cuisine. Onboard flights between the U.S. and Tokyo, customers can enjoy award-winning wines and chef-inspired dining in First and Business Class, including a new brunch service on flights from Tokyo Haneda designed by celebrity consulting chef Sam Choy. In addition, a variety of teas are available onboard for premium customers traveling from Tokyo Haneda to New York JFK including English

5 Breakfast Tea, Earl Grey, Pure Peppermint, Darjeeling, and Pure Camomile Flowers. Green tea and regular tea are also offered on flights to and from Japan. American is also pleased to offer traditional Japanese meals to its First Class customers inflight upon request. In order to ensure a Japanese meal is available, customers must preorder this selection at least 24 hours prior to their flight. To pre-order, customers must call American Airlines Reservations at in the U.S. and Canada, visit a local American Airlines ticket office or contact their travel agent. Inflight Amenities: Our premium class customers are offered a variety of inflight amenities including Bose QuietComfort 15 Acoustic Noise Cancelling headphones, amenity kits that include Burt s Bees products and a premium class duvet paired with an oversized plush pillow. All elements further elevate the customer experience. Economy Class Cabin Leather Seat: The Economy Class cabin offers 194 seats in a configuration. Entertainment: Customers traveling on a Boeing 777 aircraft can view programming on adjustable in-seat entertainment devices offering a wide selection of feature movies, current news, music, games and television shows via audio and video on-demand. The in-seat entertainment features a touch screen 10.6-inch tilting monitor and provides up to 47 feature movies, 75 hours of television, 30 music CDs, a variety of games, and 16 American Airlines-branded audio programs. Inflight entertainment language options vary by market and include English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Chinese and Japanese. Main Cabin Dining: For customers traveling in Economy Class on international flights, American offers a complimentary in-flight meal service, combined with an additional followon snack service served prior to landing. Non-alcoholic beverages are complimentary and alcoholic beverages are available for purchase. On flights to and from Asia, customers flying in the Main Cabin are offered a gourmet snack mix accompaniment with the first beverage service, followed by a main meal dining service, which includes a choice of entrée, a green salad with salad dressing, cheese and crackers, an eight ounce bottle of water, a large dinner roll with butter and pre-packaged dessert. In addition, American has enhanced the bento box during second meal service. American offers a variety of special meals for passengers with particular dietary/religious requirements. All special meals must be ordered at least 24 hours prior to the flight. A special meal option is offered for first and second meal services. Inflight Amenities: For customer comfort and convenience, customers traveling in the main cabin onboard all domestic flights over two hours in length, including flights to and from U.S., Canada, Mexico, Hawaii, the Caribbean, and Central America, will have the option to purchase a pillow and blanket pack for $8. The pillow and blanket pack is comprised of a blue fleece blanket, inflatable neck pillow and currently includes a Bed, Bath and Beyond coupon for $10 off of a $30 purchase inside a clear zippered pouch. INFLIGHT RETAIL A variety of in-flight retail options are offered to further enhance the onboard experience for our customers traveling on the 777.

6 SkyMall: The SkyMall catalog offers American s customers one-stop shopping from an unparalleled selection of fine products. A SkyMall catalog is located in the seatback pocket when onboard American Airlines, American Eagle and AmericanConnection flights. Tax Free: The Tax Free Shopping magazine, On the Runway, provides the benefit of purchasing tax and duty exempt items for customers traveling on international flights. The savings that are associated with Tax Free can be as much as 40% or more. On The Runway includes one page of exclusive items, including Shishedo Skincare products, only available on Asian routes.
