1 Section # Time Instructor Room # Section # Time Instructor Room # Distance Education ( ) The following courses are Distance Education (DE) courses. A DE course may be online or hybrid. Online courses meet completely online (via the Internet using Etudes) and require you to complete an online course orientation, the instructor before class starts or attend an on-campus course orientation. Hybrid courses have regular on-campus class meetings and a mandatory on-campus orientation. Specific class meeting and/or orientation requirement for each DE course are listed below and in the DE Class Schedule and Meeting Information on the DE website. Do not miss the orientation or you may be dropped from the class. If you enroll in a DE course, you must be proficient in computer, online communications and time management. A satisfactory score on the DE Readiness Assessment in the DE website, previous satisfactory completion of an online course, or completion or concurrent enrollment in Academic Strategies 60 is highly recommended. You must have at a minimum: computer with Internet connection, Windows XP or Mac OSX, Internet Explorer 8 or Firefox 9, Adobe Reader 8 and El Camino College . Additional software and plug-ins may be required by the instructor (such as Word, Flash). You may also use computer labs on campus to work on DE courses.
