THANK YOU MAIL Dear team at MIA I wanted to write and say thank you for the insurance that you gave to my father when he was ill with prostate cancer. In a dark and small world of terminal cancer, he was able to travel without normal travel insurance, which was utterly unsuitable in process, cover and cost. We were astounded at what awful questions were asked and sums quoted when we first tried to go to standard travel insurance companies and the process itself made him very depressed. Finding MIA enabled him to visit his grandchildren in Belgium and take a family holiday in France while he was well enough to travel and this made a huge difference to him and mum, opening up opportunities that they would not have had otherwise during a difficult 4 year illness. He finally passed away last October and while I was recommending you to a friend yesterday, I thought I would drop you a line to say thanks and let you know that you do a great job. Very best regards Claire Dr Claire Skentelbery By From: D EDWARDS Sent: Wednesday, August 22, :45 PM To: MIA ONLINE LTD Subject: Re: Edwards Family /7/8/9 QUOTE REF Eileen You will know from your records that I decided not to go ahead with the Insurance for this trip. The reason being my wife became ill again last Wednesday and it was clear that going on holiday was too risky. As it transpires her health deteriorated rapidly and at the age of 50 sadly passed away on Monday. Whilst the family is naturally devastated we can look back over the last few years on great and wonderful memories from some fantastic times and holidays. These holidays would not have happened without the support of MIA ONLINE who were prepared to insure us when most others would not. Thank You! Please keep up your good work you cannot imagine how reassuring it was to know that you were there. Dave
We have just returned from a really great cruise to the Med. thanks to MIA insurance. No other company would cover my husband to go anywhere abroad and definately NOT cruising. Sadly you would not cover us to go to see our daughter in San Francisco, but we decided to go where-ever we could to get a holiday and it really turned out well. Thank you so much for all your help. Roz Dennison Your very helpful fax shows that this product is certainly needed for a lot of patients. Do you have more details on how patients can contact you and understand more about the insurance you offer, as I am regularly told by patients that they have been declined for travel insurance. Dr Martin Toynbee Fax Have just received all the information about the Clear2Go policy which I have taken out with you. I would like to thank you firstly, for covering me in the first place and secondly, for the efficient, sensitive and caring way you dealt with my enquiry. Many travel insurance companies seem not to have a realistic understanding of what "living with cancer" is all about these days. My consultant calls it a "chronic" illness, but only MIA seems to treat us with the same respect. The cost of your policy was totally affordable, especially on a holiday which is a "cheap and cheerful" week away. Thank you so much - you have given me the peace of mind to enjoy our break and I will recommend you unreservedly! Rosie Wales East Lothian Scotland A while ago you kindly sent us leaflets on your travel insurance service, to give out to members of our Mesothelioma Support groups. Many of them have gone on to use your company and are delighted with the service you provide. I'd be grateful if you would send further leaflets, so we can continue " spreading the word" about MiaOnline to our members nationally. If you require any further information please let me know. Yours sincerely Chris Knighton Mick Knighton Mesothelioma Research Fund Thank you so much for all the information, I am just printing it off as we speak. I can t wait for next week we honestly thought this day would never come. Thanks again, Julie.
Hi I bought insurance from you for my week's holiday in August. As a Breast Cancer sufferer I found your scheme to be excellent... Incidentally, I was on your website to get some contact information to pass onto my consultant at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton who was very interested in your company and wanted to have the details available to patients who ask about Holiday Insurance. Sandra. Thank you very much for your assistance. It is the total cost of his treatment so there will be no claim this time but he is already planning another cruise so will be in touch for the insurance for that trip once arranged. I must say I am impressed with the service you offer and can now keep dad's medication updated on his record online. Moira Anderson I write to thank you for your help in insuring my terminally ill husband Your team guided us through the process of insuring him and gave us the confidence to be able to travel. I will be eternally grateful and thankful for the gentle efficient and professional handling of our needs The holidays were a welcome relief from an enormous round of Hospital appointments, treatments etc. and gave us very precious time together, which we both enjoyed and I am now treasuring the memories. He died in April 2010 but those holidays were extremely precious. Ann Andrews - Letter Thought I'd drop you a line to let you know, an old client we put on to you guys a while back telephoned us yesterday... You have recently quoted him 400 for a trip to the US with his wife, he had been turned down by most other insurers, only one other offered terms at 1,500 for the same trip... he couldn't believe it and wondered where the catch was... I filled him in with some background and reassured him 'that was why we used you', and he seemed very pleased and keen to recommend you... It's always nice to get some positive feedback eh? 4 I look forward to using Mia again when I travel again :-) And Ive recommended you to other friends who have secondary breast cancer so they are pleased to hear that someone will insure us! and no doubt be in contact. Many thanks, Rachel Williams . Without you both it wouldn t have happened. We re sitting in the Sun looking forward rather than backward. Many thanks. Vince & Joy Carroll - Post Card After considering the points you make about concerns on the final two destinations of the cruise - Turkey and Athens - we have decided to take a shorter cruise. Once again, many thanks for your advice re the original cruise itinerary. It certainly helped to focus our minds! Regards, John & Rita Kibble Thanks very much, Sarah, all done a breath of fresh air in the otherwise extremely frustrating insurance world!! Kind regards Steve Lloyd - Finally an observation, this is the third holiday that you have helped us with [Bruges, Amsterdam, Crete] and on each occasion we have been struck by your readiness to advise and explain, everything from nearby places to see to precautionary antibiotics. This helpfulness really sets you apart from other providers in the best possible way. Best wishes Phil Smith I have already purchased my holiday insurance with you! The gentleman who helped in answering my questions and taking details was very pleasant and did not do any ' hard selling' but was very knowledgeable and so helpful. I have passed your details on to several friends. Christine Williams
Roz Dennison I recently applied for a twelve month travel policy for myself and my husband and am writing to compliment your company on the courteous and efficient way this was carried out. After approaching several other insurance companies which was very time consuming and complicated, your approach was far more relaxing, health issues and other details being dealt with quickly and pleasantly. Unfortunately today we find ourselves complaining about most issues and the uncaring way things are dealt with, forgetting the few occasions when we are dealt with so efficiently. I have already recommended your company to friends and hope you may benefit from this. Thank you once again. Yours Sincerely Mrs J Ackroyd - Letter by post Please note that my wife Norah died 24 August this year. With assistance from yourselves, amongst others, she was able to enjoy a holiday in Italy with the family - thank you for your help. R E James - Dear All This is not an enquiry, but a thank you letter. I am a returning customer who is taking her parents on holiday for a second time! I wanted to say THANK YOU for providing affordable medical insurance for my elderly parents, it gives us such peace of mind. You are a God send. Please can you ensure the founders & employess of this company get to see this . I want them/you to know what a wonderful job you are all doing, and I am so very grateful. God Bless You All. Rita Jethwa - Hi Just a note to say thank you for making it possible for my parents to travel to Ireland despite them both having pre-existing medical conditions.
MIA's affordable insurance have given us peace of mind and enabled them to visit relatives that they had not seen for over 10 years and will probably not see again. Your help is much appreciated. Regards Rosalie O'Donovan - Good morning, I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all very much particularly Gemma who I spoke to yesterday over the phone regarding our dilemma with insurance. We have been struggling so much to get holiday insurance for our wonderful mum who was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer this year. After a ten hour operation plus 6 rounds of very strong chemotherapy I am ecstatic to say mum is well enough at the moment to travel for a weeks break to Portugal. Your company has made this possible and for that I am truly grateful. With kindest regards, Julie Charlton - Dear Sirs We have recently taken out holiday insurance with MIA. We found your staff very friendly and helpful, especially Gemma who really spent a lot of time & trouble to make sure that we finally got our insurance. Contacting MIA was more like speaking to friends Thank you again, especially Gemma, for making our Golden Wedding Anniversary holiday possible. Yours Sincerely Dorothy & Norman Culshaw. - Letter through the post I would highly recommend MIA to anyone with previous medical history who requires insurance for holiday purposes. Your confirms to me that your organisation work within professional parameters - it is just a shame that other individuals do not operate to these extremely high standards. Kindest regards Lisa Donaldson (on behalf of Mrs Carole Jackson) - To MIA Claims team and all telephone staff Cheque received this morning, many thanks. This payment means we can enjoy a quiet holiday in the UK, Not quite Malta but perhaps the sun will shine!! I shall update my medical record before I go, in case I need a Dr. whilst away.
Thanks for you help and advice over the last 3 years since I found you. I never fail to recommend you to people with a medical history. It's so good to be treated as a real person and to be quoted a realistic fee. Sadly I won't be able to use you again as my prognosis is terminal but it's been great doing business with you. Best wishes Jean Temple Dear Sirs Thank you for providing me with Travel insurance and I am in receipt of my membership cards. I confirm that my GP and Consultant are of the opinion that I am fit enough to travel and this has been stated on my medical records. I would particularly like to thank Mr Ian White who handled my enquiry efficiently respectfully and sensitively and with a sense of humour which I found quite refreshing. Iiwill certainly be contacting you again for my next trip. Yours Faithfully Peter Cartwright - I have just got my holiday insurance through MIA Clear 2 Go Telephone number I spoke to a lovely lady called Gemma. They will insure anyone with Cancer and there are different rates for where you are travelling to. Thye will only insure you two months before you travel, but if you are going within the two months that is fine. I paid 264 for myself (Breast Cancer and Arthritis and my Husband Arthritis and Spondilitis, this is for 3 weeks Carabean and USa. So this is the best deal we have had. I have been so down at times as these companys ask for all your information then tell you yes we will insure you but not for the Cancer I am sure many of us have experienced this, you feel like a Leppar!!!!! So hope this is of some help to you all. Carol Posted on Macmillan site Dear Eileen I am deeply indebted to you and your company for your very prompt and sympathetic handling of my insurance claim and I do thank you for the cheque for enclosed with your kind condolences. I can t tell you what it means to receive such a positive and helpful response. I would also thank the company for agreeing to cover us for our planned holiday it brought Clive such pleasure and happiness to anticipate the treat in store after a gruelling time. I shall commend your company at every opportunity and do thank you once again for giving us hope and then positive support in this dark time for me. Yours Sincerely Jenny Rushbrook - Letter through the post
In 2007, while trying to arrange Travel Insurance after a diagnosis of Lung Cancer I saw in YOURS a mention of travel insurance company MIA. I would like to bring them to the attention of readers who might be struggling to get cover. The people who answer the phone are so considerate, unlike so many companies who run a computer questionnaire and quote vast sums for cover if they will cover you at all. Sadly this year, due to renewed health problems, we have had to cancel our holiday and the ladies at MIA have been so helpful. If you have travel insurance problems, give MIA a call on Mrs Jean Temple Letter to YOURS Magazine Dear MIA TRAVEL. I would like to thank you on behalf of myself and family. My husband passed away while we were on holiday in Australia, he was taken ill he had cancer and passed away while we were there. I cannot praise you enough for the help and support which you gave us, you are second to none right there at the top. I don t know what we would have done without you. We spoke to one lady named Eileen, who was fantastic, telling us not to worry they would look after everything. Thank you so much Eileen, this was a great comfort to us. We also spoke to other members of the staff. Once again a big Thank you to you all, you have a fantastic team there. My family and I felt that someone cared about us when we spoke to you on the phone it was very comforting. I have passed your details to my doctor, also my husbands district nurses who heard the sad news and came to see me. I know my husband Michael would want to thank you if he were here. Once again I can t thank you enough, you are brilliant. Mrs Lynn McKeown Thank you Card Last month my wife and I had a very enjoyable holiday in Lanzarote. The holiday was only made possible by the fact that you were able to offer cover for our pre-existing medical conditions on reasonable terms. Alan Booth - Letter through the post Dear Gemma Thank you for your help and support. Ive told every one & any one that will listen about you & your Co & how fab you are.
