1 Date 8/12/2014 INCIDENT BLOTTER AGENCY Time ######## Report CFS02 Agency Lake Bluff Police Dept Dates 8/3/2014 thru 8/9/2014 Agency Lake Bluff Police Dept Date Report Time Report Incident Nr Activity /03/2014 7:08 Suspicious Circumstan Officer responded to Sunrise Beach for a report of a subject whose personal belongings were taken while he was swimming. It was determined the items were taken by a park district crew when they were cleaning the beach. Officer responded to the park district and retrieved the items. The items were returned to the owner /03/ :49 Lock Out Officer responded to the 300 block of Maclaren Lane for a residential lockout. Officer was able to locate an open rear door to the residence /03/ :28 Burglar Alarm Officers responded to the 100 block of East Scranton Avenue for an activated burglar alarm. Upon arrival officers found the building secured, and reported no irregularities. A message was left for the keyholder /03/ :32 Burglar Alarm Officers responded to the 60 block of Coventry Court for an activated panic alarm. Officers met with the homeowner who stated the alarm activated while changing the battery on a smoke alarm /03/ :27 Suspicious Circumstan Officer responded to Sunrise Beach for a report of people possibly smoking cannabis on the beach. Officer walked the beach and the dog beach and could not locate anybody smoking cannabis nor could he smell any odor of cannabis /03/ :50 Suspicious Person Officer responded to the area of northbound Sheridan Road from McKinley Road for a report of a suspicious person on a bicycle with a lot of bags riding in the middle of the street. Officer checked the area and could not locate the subject /03/ :35 Suspicious Person Officers responded to Lillian Dells for a report of four subjects down at the beach. Officers located the subjects at 2011 hours. The sunset was at 2008 hours. Café tickets were issued for violation of sunrise to sunset curfew /03/ :39 Burglar Alarm Officers responded to the 700 block of Mountain Avenue for an activated panic alarm. The homeowner thought she had heard someone trying to gain entry into the house via the basement door. Officers checked the exterior and the interior of the house and met with negative results /03/ :19 Suspicious Circumstan Officers responded to the 100 block of East North Avenue for a report of a suspicious circumstance. The complainant stated she was checking on the homeowners pets while they were out
2 of town and observed that lights were on on the second floor and she had not turned them on. She also heard several strange noises. Officers checked the interior of the residence noting no irregularities /03/ :34 Traffic Complaint Officer responded to the area of Rt. 176 and Rt. 41 for a driving complaint on a black Cadillac SUV. Officer located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle issuing a warning for improper lane usage /04/2014 2:13 Assist Other Agency Officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of East Scranton Avenue to assist Mount Prospect Police Department who were attempting to locate 2 missing juveniles that were on a trip with the resident and were past due being home. Officers arrived on scene and met with the resident and provided her a telephone number to contact a sergeant with the Mount Prospect Police Department /04/2014 9:23 Animal Complaint Othe Officer responded to the 300 block of Sylvan Road for a report of a sick or injuried animal between residences. Officer located the animal and determined it to be on private property. Officer advised the neighbor of the complainant to contact an animal removal service /04/ :28 Accidt ProprtyDamage Officers responded to the intersection of Route 176 and Green Bay Road for a two vehicle property damage crash /04/ :55 Littering Dump/Garbge Officer responded to the PSB for a complaint of littering on East Prospect Avenue. Officer made contact with the owner of the business and requested that the propaganda left in resident driveways be removed before the end of the day. Officer advised company that if items were not removed, citations would be issued /04/ :28 Traffic Complaint Officer responded to Green Bay Road and Route 176 for a report of six teenagers skateboarding in the middle of the roadway on Route 176 going westbound. Officer checked Route 176 from Green Bay Road out to Route 43 and was unable to locate the subjects /04/ :54 Suspicious Circumstan Officer responded to the 300 block of Signe Court for a report of kids running up and down the street and a vehicle that has a loud muffler. Officer checked the area and did not observe any kids running on the street or hear any vehicles with loud mufflers /05/2014 1:33 TrafficEnforcementOff Officer conducted a traffic stop on Green Bay Road at our north limits for one tail light. The driver was arrested for driving without a valid drivers license /05/2014 9:45 Fire Alarm Officer responded to the 200 block of S. Waukegan Rd. for an activated commercial fire alarm. Knollwood, Lake Forest, and Lake Bluff Fire Departments responded. Alarm was determined to be activated by contractors working on the sprinkler system at one of the businesses /05/ :53 Suspicious Circumstan Officer observed a subject loading sand and rocks into buckets from the construction site located in the 600 block of Sheridan Rd. The subject stated he was only taking a little bit of sand and rocks for a small project at his aunt's home and did not think anyone would miss the small amount. Officer attempted to contact the supervisor of the construction site but was connected with a voice mail and left a message. The subject had no warrants and was allowed to leave after returning the property.
3 /05/ : Investigation Officer responded to the 100 block of Margate Court for a 911 Investigation. Officer verfieid with the homeowner that there was no emergency and that they dialed in error /05/ :34 Barking Dog Officer responded to the 100 block of West Center Avenue for a report of a barking dog. Officer met with the homeowner and advised him of the complaint /05/ :49 Solicitior Complaint Officer responded to the block of Meadow Circle for a solicitor complaint. Officer met with the solicitor who advised she was unaware she needed a permit. The individual was picked up by her employer /06/2014 4:01 Suspicious Person Officer observed a sleeping subject in a vehicle at the Lake Bluff Park District. Officer met with the subject who stated he arrived on an early flight and was waiting until 0800hrs before visiting family in the area. Officers verified he had family at the residence provided /06/ :06 Stray Dog/ Cat Officer responded to the 200 block of Green Bay Road and took possession of a female Pug that ran across Green Bay Road and into the front yard of the complainant. The dog did not have a collar or tags. Officer transported the dog to the Knollwood Animal Hospital and secured it into the fenced in area /06/ :50 Animal Bite Officer responded to the 300 block of East Center Avenue for a report of a subject bitten while trying to seperate two dogs. Lake Bluff and Lake Forest Fire Departments responded. Ambulance 421 transported the patient to Lake Forest Hospital. Officer completed an animal bite report and a friend of the homeowner responded to care for the injured dog /06/ :30 Motorist Assist Officer observed a truck stopped at the Scranton Cutoff blocking access to West Scranton under the Sheridan Road bridge. The driver advised the truck was too large to fit under the bridge. Officer blocked traffic while the driver turned around /06/ :06 Assist Other Agency Officer responded to a local business to assist Lake County Sheriff's department with a well-being check. Officer stood by while county determined the subject required no police or medical assistance /07/2014 0:46 Assist Ambulance Officer responded to the 300 block of East Prospect Avenue for an ambulance request Officer arrived on scene with Lake Bluff Fire Department and Lake Forest Ambulance 423. Lake Forest Ambulance 423 transported the patient to Lake Forest Hospital /07/2014 3:01 Noise Complaint Officers responded to the 100 block of East Woodland Road for a report of people being loud. Officer met with and spoke to the homeowners daughters who stated that they would go inside for the night /07/2014 9:49 Assist Ambulance Officers responded to the 20 block of Warrington Drive for an ambulance request. Lake Forest and Knollwood Fire Departments responded with Battalion Chief in charge. Ambulance A- 421 transported the subject to Lake Forest Hospital /07/ :28 Assist Other Agency Officers checked the bicycle path along Sheridan Road and the train depot reference a subject wanted for their involvement in a shooting that took place in North Chicago. The subject was described as a male/black with dreadlocks, red shorts or pants and a grey shirt. Officers did not locate the subject.
4 /07/ :06 TrafficEnforcementOff Officer conducted a traffic stop on northbound Route 41 at the north limits. The driver was arrested for no valid license /07/ :13 Officer was dispatched to the 200 block of E Scranton Ave for a report of a Terrier mix running at large. Before officer arrived on scene complainant called dispatch to advise the dog was returned to its owner /07/ :48 Suspicious Phone Call Officer responded to the PSB for a suspicious circumstance. The complainant stated she received a suspicious phone call demanding money. Officer advised the caller that the telephone number given is associated with a scam. The complainant did not lose any money and just wanted the incident documented /07/ :31 Assist Fire Departmen Officers responded to Artesian Park for an ambulance request. Lake Bluff Fire Department and Lake Forest Ambulance 421 arrived on scene. The patient signed a refusal for transport /07/ :57 Assist Fire Departmen Officer responded to the 400 block of Green Bay Road for a report of a CO2 detector going off. Officer met with the homeowner who stated that she had no symptoms but the detector was showing high readings in every room. Lake Bluff Fire Deparment responded. Fire personnel determined a faulty detector was the cause of the high readings /08/2014 1:19 Assist Other Agency Officers responed to the block of Rockland Road to assist county with an intoxicated subject. Officers arrived on scene and assisted in apprehending the subject who tried to flee from the scene. The subject was taken into custody /08/2014 9:11 Assist Ambulance Officer responded to the 300 block of Ravine Forest Drive for an ambulance request. Lake Forest and Lake Bluff Fire Departments responded. Ambulance A-421 transported the subject to Lake Forest Hospital /08/2014 9:34 Parking Enforcement Officer responded to the 10 block of East Center Avenue for a parking complaint. A café ticket was issued for improper parking /08/ :16 Found Article Resident brought in a wallet she found on the sidewalk next to the library. Item was logged in the found property book. Dispatch made contact with the owner who would be responding to claim her property /08/ :56 TrafficEnforcementOff Officer conducted a traffic stop on Sheridan Road at East North Avenue and subsequently arrested the driver for driving while license suspended and unlawful possession of cannabis /08/ :24 Accidt ProprtyDamage Officer responded to south bound Green Bay Road north of Route 176 for a 4 car crash. No injuries were reported /08/ :16 Citizen Assist Officer assisted the homeowner in the 200 block of East Prospect Avenue who was having difficulty with his telephone line. Dispatch contacted the phone company who stated they will respond on 08/09/2014 to repair his telephone line. Officer requested the resident come to the PSB if any further assistance is required.
5 /08/ :16 Burglar Alarm Officers responded to the 300 block of West Washington Avenue for an activated burglar alarm. Officers checked the exterior of the premise and observed no irregularities. Dispatch advised a keyholder would not be responding /08/ :32 Assist Other Agency Officer assisted Lake Forest Police Department with fingerprinting a warrant apprehension at the Public Safety Building /09/2014 2:25 Stray Dog/ Cat Officers responded to the 500 block of Rockland Avenue for a report of a stray dog. While on scene the owner of the dog and the dog were reunited /09/ :18 Solicitior Complaint Officer responded to the 300 block of East North Avenue for a refused complaint of two subjects possibly soliciting in the area. Officer made contact with two subjects on the 200 block of East North Avenue who stated they were distributing religious pamphlets /09/ :44 Noise Complaint Officer responded to Signe Court for a noise complaint regarding a loud vehicle. Officer checked the area and the vehicle was no longer on scene /09/ :14 Suspicious Person Officers responded to the 700 block of Ravine Avenue for a report of suspicious people on the private beach. Officers met with the caller who advised he did not want to sign any complaints. Officers spoke with the individuals and advised them they were not allowed on the premise without permission. The subjects left the area.
