4 About the Device The DSL1215FUN(L) is an ADSL integrated access device, which supports ADSL2/2+, internal Wireless N, 4-Port fast Ethernet switch, 100Mbps Ethernet WAN port, Voice-Over-IP, and USB Host for sharing through network. Targeted at providing good quality and high definition IPTV services to end users, DSL1215FUN(L) Residential Gateway is an intelligent 4 port 10/100 AutoMDI/MDIx Managed Switch. It is also capable to deliver up to 2 simultaneous VoIP calls on its 2 FXS ports. Security is provided via a double SPI (Stateful Packet Inspection) and Full Cone NAT support firewall. Hardware accelerated AES/WEP/WPA/WPA2 based encryption/mac Address Filtering for Wireless clients. Multiple sessions VPN Passthrough and DMZ support provide additional security support for telecommuters as well as allow flexibility while maintaining security against malicious hackers. Choices of Dynamic DNS server give users the flexibility of hosting a web or an FTP server with various domain names. DSL1215FUN(L) could function as a Broadband Home Router, by connecting the 100Mbps Ethernet WAN port with an ONT, to extend the fast fiber connection to the house. It supports multiple-vlan management for delivering triple play services. With Universal Plug and Play support, home networking becomes a breeze for everyone in the family. Multi Port Range/Popular Application Forwarding makes it even easier to select which application you want your network to allow while ensuring your security at the same time. Page 4 of 38
5 Minimum System Requirements Your computer must meet the following minimum requirements. 8 Hardware Setup Diagram Before moving ahead to setup your network, it is a good idea to draw out a network diagram to help identify your network devices and plan out how to connect these devices. The illustration below is an example of a network diagram. Each port in the router can be used for different connections. For example: 1. WAN Port Connect to ONT for FTTH connection 2. Ethernet Port 2 IPTV Set Top Box 3. Ethernet Port 4 Wired PC 4. FXS Port 1 Analog Telephone Set for VOIP 5. DC-in Port Power Adapter 6. Wireless Connect any wireless-enabled PCs and peripherals To create a network diagram: For wireless devices, identify the wireless devices you want to include in the network For wired devices, identify which router port you want to use for each device. 9 Connecting to the Internet You can use the Web Interface to setup your Internet connection. To connect to the Internet via the Web GUI: 1. Open your browser 2. Type on the address bar 3. Input admin for both login and password fields and click on go 4. On the left pane, click on Broadband Connection to expand the menu 5. Under the Broadband Connection menu click on Connection Settings 6. Input the Username on the Login field and Password on the Password field 7. Click on Save to commit the changes and initiate the Residential Gateway to connect to the Internet Page 9 of 38
10 Changing the Wireless Settings Modify the default Wireless Settings to suit your own preference. To change the Wireless settings via the Web GUI: 1. Open your browser 2. Type on the address bar 3. Input admin for both login and password fields and click on go 4. On the left pane, click on Wifi to expand the menu 5. Click on General, you can change the wireless settings as desired from the page 6. Click Save to commit the changes 7. Ensure to recreate the wireless profile on your computer to match the new settings Page 10 of 38
11 Configuring the Telephone Account Setup the VOIP account on your Residential Gateway. To configure the telephone settings via the Web GUI: 1. Open your browser 2. Type on the address bar 3. Input admin for both login and password fields and click on go 4. On the left pane, click on Voice over IP to expand the menu 5. Click on SIP Accounts 6. Click on the Check box for Enable 7. Input the account username, password and phone number 8. Click Save to commit the changes Page 11 of 38
12 The Home Gateway Configurator The Home Gateway Configurator is used to setup the basic router settings. Accessing Configurator To access the Web User Interface: 1. Open your browser. 2. Type-in on the address bar and then press Enter. What s on the Interface The Web User Interface includes the following menus: General Status Broadband Connection Local Networking Digital Home Wifi Voice Over IP Security Remote Access Administration Page 12 of 38
13 General Status General Status shows the overall condition and settings of the Home Gateway. Below is the list of information shown in this menu. HGW Identification Shows the name and firmware version of the Home Gateway Broadband Connection Shows the details of the Home Gateway s Internet connection Local Networking Shows the details of your Local Area Network Digital Home Shows information of peripherals connected to your Digital Home Network Wifi Shows information of your Wireless Access Point Voice Over IP Shows information of your VOIP Security Shows the level of security implemented on your Home Gateway Remote Access Shows the status of the How Gateway s Remote Access feature Page 13 of 38
14 Broadband Connection Broadband Connection menu allows you to configure the Home Gateway to connect to the Internet and display network information regarding your Wide Area Network connection. Connection Settings Enter the supplied username and password by your Internet Service Provider to connect the Home Gateway to the Internet. Dynamic DNS The Home Gateway offers a Dynamic Domain Name System (DDNS) feature. DDNS lets you assign a fixed host and domain name to a dynamic Internet IP Address. It is useful when you are hosting your own website, FTP server, or other server behind the Home Gateway. Page 14 of 38
15 Before using this feature, you need to sign up for DDNS service from a DDNS service provider. The Home Gateway supports popular Dynamic DNS service providers: (see HGW Configurator for list of supported DDNS service providers) To setup DDNS on the Home Gateway, simply enter the DDNS Service provider, Hostname, DDNS username, and DDNS password, then click on the Save button to commit the settings. Network Details Shows the type of connection your Home Gateway is using. Page 15 of 38
16 Detailed Status Shows the Wide Area Network Connection status and IP Information of your Home Gateway. Page 16 of 38
17 Local Networking Local Networking allows you to configure the Local Area Network settings. Device Configuration Allow you to set the name of a network device connected to the Home Gateway for easy identification in the Local Area Network. Also shows the status and LAN IP address of devices currently connected. Blacklist device means to block the device from accessing the network. This could be useful if there is an unauthorized device trying to access your network. Access Rights Access Rights menu allows you to apply Home Gateway access restrictions among LAN devices within specific times in a day. Page 17 of 38
18 DHCP Server DHCP Server menu allows you to configure the Local Area Network settings such as enabling the DHCP server, Home Gateway IP Address and DHCP IP Address range. Page 18 of 38
19 Device Address Device Address menu allows for LAN IP address reservation. This means that you can specify an IP address that you want to set for a specific device in your network. LAN Statistics Shows the current status, MAC address, and Packets transmissions of each LAN port of you Home Gateway. Page 19 of 38

21 Digital Home Digital Home menu is for configuring the Local Area Network devices for easy identification on the network. Device Settings You can specify a Friendly name to easily identify the device on your network. Further more, specify a device type, icon and room to set the detailed information of your device. Locations Settings Location Settings menu allows you to configure the Digital Home to be similar to your home environment. You may add more rooms if the default rooms specified on the menu are not enough. Page 21 of 38

23 Wifi Wifi menu allows for configuration of different settings related to the Home Gateway s Wireless Access Point. General General menu gives you options to change the basic wireless settings such as SSID (Home Gateway Wireless Name), Wireless mode, channel, security type, and security key. WPS WPS or Wifi Protected Setup makes it easy for wireless clients/devices to connect to the Home Gateway. Simply press the WPS button on the Home Gateway and press the WPS button on the wireless client/device within 2 minutes, and the wireless security authentication will be done automatically. 24 MAC Filtering MAC Filtering is a security feature that allows for administration of wireless clients to be allowed or blocked connecting to the Home Gateway. This will serve as an additional layer of security for your wireless network. Page 24 of 38
25 Scheduling Scheduling is an energy-saving feature that allows you to schedule when your Wireless Access Point will be enabled and disabled. This way, the Home Gateway can conserve electricity by enabling the wireless Access Point only whenever it is needed. Statistics Statistics page gives detailed information related to the wireless Access Point. It shows the current number of clients connected, Max but rate, and Sent and Received Bytes. Page 25 of 38

27 Voice over IP Voice over IP menu allows you to add, edit, and delete the VOIP account configured in your Home Gateway. SIP Accounts SIP Accounts allows you to enable and configure your VOIP account information in the Home Gateway. Simply check the enable box, and key-in the username and password, as well as the telephone number supplied by your Internet Service Provider, to activate VOIP on your Home Gateway. SIP Server SIP Server menu allows you to specify the Proxy Server address from where your SIP account will connect to for authentication. You may also specify the port number that the VOIP interface will use for communication. NOTE: Proxy server address and port number are supplied by your ISP. Page 27 of 38

29 Security Security menu allow more advanced users to modify the security settings of the Home Gateway. It is not advisable to change the default security settings because it might disrupt your Internet connectivity. Firewall Firewall menu allows you to choose the level of security for your Home Gateway. Default security level should be kept at Medium unless otherwise configured by an advanced user. NAT/PAT NAT/PAT menu allows you to direct incoming traffic from the Internet to a specific computer in your local network. As an example, to setup a web server on a computer using as its IP Address, select HTTP as Service and enter Page 29 of 38
30 as the Device IP Address. Otherwise if the service you want to setup is not available from the Select a Service drop-down list, you can define your own Port Forwarding rule. Routing If your LAN consists of multiple subnets and you want to manually define the data transmitting paths, Static Route is to be used. The key settings for adding a new Static Route are explained: Destination Network Address Enter the network address to which the data packets are to be sent. Subnet Mask Enter the subnet mask for this destination. Use Gateway IP Address If you wish to use a specific gateway to reach the destination network, select this checkbox and then enter the IP address of the gateway. Use Interface If you wish to use a particular WAN interface, select the checkbox and select the interface. Click Save/Apply to take effect the settings. Page 30 of 38
31 To delete the entry from the routing table list, click its corresponding Delete button. Ping Put a check on the tick box if you want the Home Gateway to send a reply when pinged. Page 31 of 38
32 Remote Access Remote Access menu allows you to configure the Home Gateway to be accessible remotely. Account Remote Account menu allows you to activate the remote access feature in the Home Gateway. You would also be able to configure the login information to maintain security in your network. 33 Server Server menu is where you configure the port number and timeout settings for the Remote Access feature of your Home Gateway. Page 33 of 38
34 Administration Administration menu allows you to configure the Home Gateway user interface, Time settings, and show additional information about your device. User Interface User Interface gives you an option to change the Language settings on the Home Gateway s Graphical User Interface. Switch from English and Arabic depending on your own preference. You may also setup the login information for access to the Home Gateway in this menu. NTP NTP menu allows you to configure the time zone for your Home Gateway to synchronize when connected to the Internet. Page 34 of 38

36 Details Details menu shows detailed information pertaining to your Home Gateway. Page 36 of 38
