2 What is there to do at the Open Day? Degree Programme Presentations hrs Spread across all seven locations re you interested in certain degree programmes and would you like to know more about them? Visit the presentations by Leiden University bachelor s programmes. Check out the presentation schedule for an overview. ll presentations are in Dutch except for the ones marked with *. On the way to the Sweat Room hrs Hooglandse Church You ve only really graduated if your name graces the Leiden University Zweetkamer (Sweat Room). It is a tradition for new graduates to sign their name on the walls of this room. What about yours? You get a unique opportunity to do this at the Open Day. Come to the Information Market in the Hooglandse Church and have your picture taken in the Sweat Room. Leiden Law Future: have your photo taken in an academic robe! hrs Kamerlingh Onnes Building Do you dream of a job where you wear an academic robe? Is it your ambition to become a lawyer, a public prosecutor or a judge? If so, you can get into practice by having your photo taken in a robe in the pop-up photo studio in the hall of the Faculty of Law. You can download the photo via facebook.com/leidenlawschool. There is also an information market in the Kamerlingh Onnes Building, where you can meet study advisers from the Law and Criminology programmes. Job Market Café: enter the competition and you could be a prize winner hrs Lipsius, hal re you curious about what professions match such study programmes as History, International Studies, English or Philosophy? If you are, come and join in the competition in the Job Market Café. Send in your entry and you could win a laptop! You ll also meet former students and our careers adviser in the café. They can tell you all about your programme and your future prospects. We can help you with that! We have students standing at spots all over the city, starting at the Central Station. They are there to point you in the right direction. They know all there is to know about the Open Day and have a supply of maps ready to hand out. You can recognise them from their blue-white jackets with the logo of Leiden University and if that s not enough, they re also holding a large balloon. If you have any questions about the city, the boat trips, or the Tuktuks, you can ask one of the Leiden Guides! You can recognise them from their red or blue outfits. 4 What is there to do in the city? Tuk-tuk Tour hrs Spread across the city Feel like being chauffeured around in a tuk-tuk? Several of Leiden University s three-wheeled taxis will be driving around and can take you from one location to the other. During your ride, your driver will tell you more about this unique, bustling city. Explore Leiden by boat Boat tours: continuous between hrs. You can hop on or off the tour at several different boarding places (see map). Get to know Leiden from the water! There are three boats, each with a different theme: history and knowledge, culture and music or the student boat. Hop on one of these boats and take the canal route to the different Open Day locations. Tour of the city with students Tours start: 12.00, and hrs. Gather at the City and Student Life stand (Hooglandse Church) Take a walk through Leiden with students from the local student associations. You can even take a peek into a student s room and a student association! The Fusion: be surprised! hrs. Square in front of the Hooglandse Church The square at the Hooglandse Church is the main location for the information market. We ve christened it The Fusion for the day and it s all about Leiden events. s an example, did you know that the Leiden Museum Night is organised by students? Do you want to know what you have to do to join in the Leiden Cabaret Festival, or to have a taster of the Stukafest? The Fusion is the place to find the answers! Enjoy the live music and acts and discover what Leiden has to offer in the way of festivals and events. Lunch: get a taste of how to eat well in Leiden See the map for the lunch locations Have a great lunch in Leiden for 10 or less at one of the city s many restaurants offering an Open Day menu specially for today.
