2 We had an incredible turnout for our RAP Session & Vendor Fair with over 195 attendees, including 15 table top vendors. The meeting sponsor for this event was Agape Healthcare Staffing, Inc. Javier Sanchez, Chief Network Officer for CalOptima spoke to the members regarding the OneCare Connect Program. Jackie Lincer, Branch Chief, Region VII, and her group from the Orange County District Office of CDPH Licensing & Certification spoke about updates and policy changes, F329, Plan of Correction and its elements, and top cited tags in Orange County for SNFs. OneCare Connect Overview: Javier Sanchez provided a detailed overview of the OneCare Connect Program being implemented in the State of California. Part of a national pilot program for people with Medicare and Medi-Cal ("Medi-Medis" or "Dual Eligibles"). California is implementing Cal MediConnect via legislation, called the Coordinated Care Initiative (CCI). CCI has two primary components: 1) Cal MediConnect, which integrates Medicare and Medi-Cal into a single plan (OneCare Connect is CalOptima's Cal MediConnect plan); and 2) Managed Long-Term Services and Support (MLTSS) as a Managed Care Plan benefit. Javier provided the members with a timeline of events happening up to enrollment, and the goals of each plan. He also informed us of the advantages for members of the programs. Javier handed the microphone over to Candice Gomez for questions and answers. Pictured above: Javier Sanchez, Chief Network Officer for CalOptima Pictured right: Candice Gomez, Executive Director of Program Implementation for CalOptima
3 Updates, MDS Surveys & Dementia: Jacqueline Lincer, Branch Chief, Region VII, provided the members with important updates and policy changes within the Licensing & Certification Program, including the MDS/Staffing Focused Survey Updates, the Five Star Quality Rating System, and the Expansion Project CMS Focused Dementia Care Survey Pilot. Jackie directed us to important reference sites regarding the Quarterly Performance Metrics Report, Licensing & Certification Program Evaluation, and the Center for Healthcare Quality Stakeholder Forum information. Review of F329 Regulatory Guidance: Debra Brown, Pharmaceutical Consultant II Specialist, gave the membership guidance on thef329 regulation. Debra discussed national and CA initiatives to improve SNF dementia care and reduce unnecessary antipsychotic use. Debra summarized the findings from the 2014CMS Dementia Pilot Survey initiative. Plan of Correction: Lori Wolford, Training Supervisor, identified the steps a facility must take to achieve sustained compliance in its Plan of Correction. Resources for Providers: Kathleen Davidson, District Administrator, provided valuable resources to our members regarding CDPH L&C, Medicare, Health Consumer Information System and Informed Consent. Top 10 Cited Tags in Orange County forsnfs: Hang Nguyen, District Manager, discussed the top cited F-tags in Orange County SNFs. Jackie's group then addressed specific questions that were asked by the members. Everyone gave a shout out to Lydia Vizcaino who prepared the CDPH presentation, slides and gathered the references.
