1 Please (X)the awards for which you wish to apply: Application Deadline: April 15 SENATOR THOMAS ALEXANDER CRERAR SCHOLARSHIPS Available to students completing either their qualifying year or their fourth (graduating) year of a Bachelor s program in Arts who plan on entering a graduate program in the Humanities at the University of Manitoba. If applicants are equally qualified, preference is given to students pursuing programs in Canadian History, Philosophy, English Literature or French Literature. HEINZ FRANK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP One award is given to a student entering the first year of a graduate program in the Humanities at the University of Manitoba. The preferred field of study shall be in the area of modern languages. UNIVERSITY WOMEN S CLUB OF WINNIPEG GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP One scholarship of $3, is available to an outstanding student completing an Honours Arts degree or Pre-Master s year in Arts at either the University of Manitoba or the University of Winnipeg, who enters the first year of graduate work at any approved university. ADALSTEINN KRISTJANSSON TRAVELLING SCHOLARSHIP One scholarship of approximately $13,000-$14,000 per year over a 2-year period is available for a student who received their undergraduate degree from the University of Manitoba within the last five years, who is entering the first year of a two-year program of postgraduate or advanced study at another approved university in Europe, UK, US, or Canada in a Master s or PhD program. If applicants are equally qualified, preference is given to students pursuing programs in Philosophy, Psychology or History. DONALD VERNON SNIDER MEMORIAL FELLOWSHIP One fellowship of approximately $8,000 is available to a student who received their University of Manitoba undergraduate degree within the last five years or is expecting to graduate in May of the year the application is made, who is entering the first year of graduate study at the University of Manitoba. If applicants are equally qualified, preference is given to graduates of Arts or Science. The holder of a Snider Fellowship may apply for a renewal, but continuance of award is not guaranteed in advance. E.B. KERNAGHAN SCHOLARSHIP One award is available to a University of Manitoba Engineering Graduate undertaking post-graduate work at an approved school of business and administration or its equivalent for the purpose of entering the fields of investment or engineering management. The applicant must provide evidence of acceptance by the institution which he/she proposes to attend.
