6 THE SCUBA ADVANTAGE In contrast to past generation bending devices, the SCUBA does not need to be bolted to the ground. Instead, the device sits atop a fold up cart with wheels and can be easily transported from in-shop to the range. This portability component was achieved by internalizing all of the forces within the machine itself, so the ground doesn t see any resistance. By replacing the person pushing against the ground with a mechanical jack pushing against the base plate, the machine will not tip over during bending.
