1 HACC to ALBRIGHT Transfer Guide & Course Equivalencies Thank you for considering Albright College for your transfer needs. We have designed this Course by Course Transfer Guide for your convenience. Each of HACC s transferable courses is listed with the Albright course that is its equivalent, along with any graduation requirement it fulfills. This information will assist you in course selection and will lead to a smoother transition from Harrisburg Area Community College to Albright. Albright College operates on a course unit system, rather than semester hours. All Albright courses are considered equal to all others. Three, four and five credit hour courses at HACC are considered equivalent to one Albright course unit. One and two credit hour courses do not transfer. To graduate from Albright College, a student must: complete 32 course units, at least 16 of which must be taken at Albright; complete the requirements within your major(s); and, complete 15 General Studies courses. General Studies Requirements English Composition (EC) - two courses are required. Fine Arts (FA) - one course is required from art, theatre or music. Foreign Language (FL) - one-to-three courses are required. Native speakers of a foreign language are exempt. Humanities (HU) - four courses are required from at least three of the following areas: literature, history, philosophy or religious studies. Interdisciplinary Studies (IS) - one course that spans two disciplines is required. Laboratory Science (LS) - one lab science course is required from one of the following: biology, chemistry, environmental science, optics or physics. Quantitative Reasoning (QR) - one accounting, mathematics or statistics course is required. Social Science (SS) - two courses are required from two of the following: anthropology, economics, political science, psychology or sociology. Course Equivalency Key Under Course Title column: Topics = Elective course. This means that the course transfers for course credit but does not have an Albright equivalent. Under General Studies Column: EC, FA, FL, HU, IS, LS, QR and SS = Course satisfies the specified general studies requirement (see list above). NO = Course does not satisfy a general studies requirement.
