4 Before You Begin This document provides an overview of Polycom RealAccess, a web portal that compiles extensive information about your Polycom RealPresence video network in a central location. What Polycom RealAccess Monitors The RealAccess portal monitors components of the Polycom RealPresence Platform, which enables standards-based video-conferencing collaboration using hardware and software endpoints from Polycom and other optional vendors. Depending on your network setup, RealAccess monitors some or all of the components listed in the following table. The following table details the minimum system requirements for using the RealAccess portal agent. 6 Polycom RealAccess Overview The Polycom RealAccess portal provides on-demand, comprehensive monitoring and reporting of your Polycom RealPresence video network. With RealAccess, you keep track of and manage your infrastructure and endpoints in one place. RealAccess includes highly customizable analytics tools so that you can understand what your network is doing and how it is performing at any given time. Options for monitoring infrastructure and even specific endpoint devices help you develop detailed reports about your network s usage. These reports are gathered from data collected from your Polycom RealPresence Platform and are automatically uploaded to the cloud-based RealAccess portal using a data extraction agent installed onpremises. RealPresence video network analytics provided by RealAccess Portal Pages This section is an overview of the functions and features on each page of the RealAccess portal. Analytics The Analytics page primarily provides comprehensive monitoring and reporting features for your network. You can view and export data filtered by location, endpoint type, software version, owner, IP address, and more, giving you a variety of ways to determine your network s performance. Site View the amount of active and inactive systems in your network, including by specific location (physical or Internet/VPN). Also see which software version is being used the most. You can also customize and export reporting data with filters, some of which include Model, Owner, H.323 Name, SIP URI, and more. Models View the amount of active and inactive systems in your network, including by endpoint type (Desktop, Room, Mobile, and others). Also see which software version is being used the most. The following figure shows that by clicking Desktop, detailed information appears about how RealPresence Desktop is being used within your network. Model View on the Assets tab Utilization The Utilization tab has the following menus that provide detailed overviews about how your network is being used. Summary View an overall summary of your network s use, including total, average, and maximum numbers for Calls, Duration (Hours), and Meetings in VMR over a specific time period. There also are Highlights and Trends sections, which provide a variety of visual representations about your network s use. Polycom, Inc. 8

9 Network Utilization Summary and some Highlights over the past 30 days Some other data on this page includes: Call Type (number of point-to-point compared to VMR calls) Call Duration (number of calls longer than five minutes compared to calls less than five) Analysis of calls by type and duration Trends View and export detailed information about how calls are being made in your network over a specific time period. Performance The Performance tab has a menu that helps you locate and understand errors in your network. Trends View errors in your network over a specific time period.
