From telephone bookmaker to online entertainment company In 1990 Interwetten was founded by owner Wolfgang Fabian as a sports betting provider, making it one of the very first private bookmakers in a Germanspeaking country. In the infant years of the company, customers predominantly from Austria, Germany and Switzerland placed their bets over the phone. The demand for the then new and innovative product was enormous and this led to rapid growth of the company.
