1 APPLICATION PROCEDURES 1 Dear Prospective Student: We are excited that you have chosen Christ For The Nations Institute (CFNI) to study God s Word and prepare for the ministry. Applications must be completed before you can be considered for admission. The following are steps that will lead you to your desired goal of attending Christ For The Nations Institute. 1 Requirements: CFNI s purpose and objectives require that each applicant has accepted Jesus as his/her Savior and has been under pastoral care six months prior to applying. You must be at least 17 years of age to apply. An applicant must give evidence of: a sound moral character a willingness to live in harmony with the standards and ideals of the Institute When to Apply: a spiritual strength and stability prior to application You may apply as early as one year prior to the term in which you wish to enroll. (International applicants documented records showing that all immunizations are current, which are required for entry into the U.S.A. must be submitted.) Submit a high school transcript completion of Grade 12/GED or equivalent education that is mandatory in your country. You must obtain transcripts of any and all schooling high school, college, or university you have had. 4 After You Apply: Your application will be reviewed for admission once the Enrollment Services Office has received a completed application. Your Enrollment Services advisor will notify you of the registrar s decision. Once you have been accepted: A. All CFNI students are required to live on campus. (Rare exceptions may be considered for local residents. Requests for off-campus living can be made by submitting an Off-Campus Request form. Please contact an Enrollment Services advisor for off-campus qualifications.) Housing is assigned upon registration. Credit Transfer: Single Housing Two to six students are assigned to a room or apartment, depending on its size. Family Housing Couples and single parents are assigned their own apartment. Transferring credits to CFNI: If you have completed college-level courses, you might be eligible to receive transferred credit toward your academic record. Your Enrollment Services advisor can help if this applies to you. Transferring credits from CFNI: Additionally, CFNI has established transfer agreements with Dallas Baptist University, Southwestern Assemblies of God University, The King s University, Ecclesia College, and Oral Roberts University. Other universities may also accept CFNI credits. Please contact the school of your choice for credit transfer details.

2 International Applicants (only) After Acceptance (Immigration Process): 2 The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services require us to have documentation of an applicant s ability to pay the costs of tuition and living expenses while at Christ For The Nations Institute before a Form I-20 can be issued. You should have already obtained a valid passport from official offices of your country. You will receive the following documents from our Enrollment Services department which will assist you in obtaining your F-1 visa. Take the following documents, once you receive them, to the United States Consul nearest you. Official Acceptance Letter Form I-20 Embassy Letter Upon receiving a student visa, purchase a round-trip transportation ticket immediately. In some cases, a U.S. consul will require that a student obtain a ticket before they will issue a visa. CFNI cannot assist with transportation. Upon arrival at CFNI, the student must be prepared to submit to the Enrollment Services Department, a return transportation ticket or funds equal or greater than the amount spent on their first part of their trip. NOTE: Students on the Work Study Program are not allowed to live off-campus. Remedial English The definition of remedial means: intended to improve or changing for the better. CFNI Remedial English classes are intended to improve every international student s English proficiency in order to better their experience at Christ For The Nations academic environment as a whole. The classes meet the students at their level of abilities. They also address each of the six learning areas: listening, reading, writing, grammar, conversation skills, and pronunciation. There are levels ranging from 1 through 3. Upon arrival, each international student will take the English Assessment to determine proficiency. Based on their scores, the students will be placed in Remedial English levels 1 through 3. Students who obtained scores higher than those required for Level 3 proficiency will be waived out of Remedial English. Enrollment services has a list of countries where English is the official language. Students from such countries are exempt from Remedial English Assessment. Exemptions: A student can also be considered for exemption from the Remedial English program if: A student has obtained a TOEFL IBT score of 61 and higher. Although CFNI does not require TOEFL, if a student has taken the test, this student should: Order the official TOEFL score to be sent to Christ For The Nations by following this link TOEFL scores are valid for two years after the completion of the test. A photo copy of scores will not be accepted. A student has completed previous formal English training or obtained an associate s degree or higher in accredited institution in the U.S. This student should: Send an official diploma or official English training transcripts to address below. Such documentation will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and is not a guarantee of exemption from English Assessment or possible subsequent Remedial English classes. 3 OBJECTIVES AND STANDARDS 3 Christ For The Nations exists for the purpose of providing biblical training for Christian discipleship and leadership. CFNI is a Charismatic Bible School with fundamental roots. Spiritual education in these Christian traditions involves not only intensive Bible study under a proficient faculty, but also a practical ministry experience for each student, along with the development of sound discipline in the student s personal life. For the accomplishment of this last goal, the Institute requires that each student, as a condition of his/her admission, agrees to the following for the entire time of his/her enrollment. 1. To be familiar with and abide by the requirements published in the CFNI Student Handbook, and such amendments as may be established from time-to-time, by announcement or otherwise. 2. To live in a spirit of good, campus citizenship, showing consideration and respect for the personal freedoms and rights of others. 3. To observe with special care the following standards of personal behavior, whether or not the student agrees with the Institute as to the relationship of these things to a consecrated Christian life: a. To refrain from the use or possession of alcoholic beverages, tobacco, narcotics, and hallucinogenic drugs, and from gambling, and social dancing. b. To exercise mature, Christian judgment in regard to reading matter, movies, and other forms of entertainment, taking into consideration the standards of the Scriptures: Therefore, Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the LORD Almighty. Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God (2 Cor. 6:17, 7:1). 4. To endeavor to help others abide by the Institute s objectives and standards: a. To neither incite nor aid another in violating the standards. b. To encourage adherence to the standards by word and example. c. To tell another and his/her observed fault in the biblical fashion. The person at fault, then, has a responsibility to correct his/her behavior (Matt. 18:15-17). If the person persists in disregarding the standards, it becomes the moral obligation of the students and faculty to report the violations to the appropriate authorities. Note: These standards apply not only to enrolled full-time students, but also to all other persons residing on campus or connected with the Institute, including members of the students families, as well as all staff.

4 4 STATEMENT OF FAITH 1. The One, True God: There is one living and true God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19). 2. The Scriptures Inspired: The Bible is the only infallible, inspired, authoritative, written Word of God (2 Tim. 3:16). 3. The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ: We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His personal future return to this Earth in power and glory to rule a thousand years (John 1:1). 4. Original Sin and the Fall of Man: We believe that man, created in the image of God, by voluntary disobedience fell into the depths of sin and iniquity, therefore passing on sin s nature and consequences to all mankind, with their accompanying loss of intended meaning and purpose (Gen. 1:27; Rom. 5:12). 5. The Salvation of Man: Man's only hope of redemption and salvation from the power of sin is to willingly choose repentance and faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that it is possible for a believer to lose his or her salvation by willfully turning away from the provisions of salvation which Christ has made. Salvation is a free gift from God and is available to any and all who call upon the Name of the Lord (Acts 4:12; Rom. 5:8-13, 15; 10:9, 13; Jas. 1:21; Eph. 2:8; Heb. 3:12, 6:4-6, 12:15; Matt. 13:22; 2 Tim. 4:10; 1 Tim. 1:19). 6. The Church and its Mission: We believe in the Great Commission to go into all the world to make disciples (Matt. 28:19). 7. The Ordinances of the Church: a. Baptism in water in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All who repent of their sins and believe in Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized. This is a declaration to the world that they identify with Christ in His death and have been raised with Him in newness of life (Matt. 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47, 48; Rom. 6:4). b. The Lord's Supper consisting of the elements bread and the fruit of the vine is the symbol that expresses our sharing the Divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Pet. 1:4), a memorial of His suffering and death (1 Cor. 11:26), and a prophecy of His second coming (1 Cor. 11:26), and is enjoined on all believers until He comes! 8. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit: The baptism of believers in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance (Acts 2:4). With the Baptism in the Holy Spirit comes power for life and service in the ministry of the Body of Christ. We believe in corporate prayer with the believer s prayer language. (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4, 8; 2:11; 10:46; 1 Cor. 12:1-31). 9. Divine Healing: Divine healing was provided for all in the Old Testament (Ex. 15:22-26; Psa. 103:1-3; Isa. 53:4, 5) and in the New Testament, through the Atonement of Christ, it is an integral part of the Gospel (Matt. 8:16, 17; Acts 5:16; Jas. 5:14-16). 10. The Final Judgment: We believe that all shall stand before the judgment seat of Christ: the redeemed to be delivered unto everlasting life, and the unrepentant unto everlasting punishment (Rev. 20:11, 12; 2 Cor. 5:10).

5 5 APPLICATION CHECKLIST Your consideration of Christ For The Nations Institute is something for which we are very thankful. A check list is provided which will indicate information needed for acceptance. Please keep this form and refer to it when you send information to Enrollment Services. Fee This is a non-refundable fee that must be sent with your application. * If an applicant wants to be considered for the upcoming term and their application is received one month before New Student Arrival week for all institute day program, for any given semester, the application fee is seventy-five U.S. dollars. There are no guarantees the application will be approved for enrollment for the upcoming semester. You may pay online by credit card, or make a money order or check payable to CFNI. International applicants: payment must made in U.S. dollars. We cannot accept Western Union or wire transfers. New Students - $50.00 Late Applications - $75* (New Students turn in this amount with late application. See above for details) Re-Admission - $25.00 Audit - $25.00 Official Transcript - Please provide an official transcript from your high school and any other institute of learning you have attended. NOTE: Please have all official transcripts sent with the completed application. International Applicants- Please be aware that once we receive a transcript, we will NOT return it to you. If you only have access to one original in your lifetime, we encourage you to obtain and send us a STAMPED, NOTARIZED COPY of the original. All international transcripts must be officially translated into English or Spanish. International Applicants: In addition to the forms listed below, you will need to send a copy of your passport, as well as copies for any family members you plan to bring with you. Online Program Applicants: When applying for the Online program, only the following are required: Part A, Part B, Part D1, Application Fee, Photo, and Official Transcripts. Note: Only off-campus students may apply. Audit Applicants: When applying to audit courses only the following are required: Part A, Application Fee, Photo, Part D: Part 1, and a release form (if auditing Music/Arts courses). If you are applying to audit courses at CFNI you must be at least 17 years of age for the Institute courses. If your pastor is related to you, please ask another member of the church s pastoral staff, who is familiar with you, to complete this form and provide a letter of explanation. Reference Personal Recommendation This form should be completed by a high school or college teacher, an employer or a friend, not a relative. The recommender must have known you for at least 6 months prior to filling out this recommendation. Health History *Immunization Records must be turned in with this form. Part I Immunization Records* Part II Requires Physician Examination (applicant must print this form and take it to your Physician to complete). Part III (INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS ONLY) Requires Physician Examination. Scholarship Application (optional) Please see E Form for important deadlines. Application INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS: A one year scholarship maybe awarded to an international student, which covers a fall and spring semester; a summer semester will be covered if needed for completion of the program. All internationals awarded a scholarship must complete the first available summer semester while on scholarship. If you are not applying for International scholarship you will need to provide the following: Original Bank Statement proving required funds. 6 PROGRAM INFORMATION Degree/Diploma Types: 6 Bachelor of Practical Ministry Degree (BPM) Awarded to students upon completion of an intensive three-year program. In the third year, students continue pursuing advanced specialization in their chosen field of ministry in one of our six majors listed below. This program requires a summer credit for completion. Associate of Practical Theology Degree (APT) Awarded to students upon completion of an in-depth, two-year program. This program requires a summer credit for completion. Advanced Studies Diploma (ASD) Awarded to students upon completion of our intensive 3rd year program. In our majors, students pursue advanced specialization in their chosen field of ministry in one of our six majors listed below. Hinge/Certificate of Biblical Studies (CBS) Awarded to Domestic and International students in Day and Evening programs upon completion of the program. Hinge is designed to provide students with a one-year, intensive program where they can experience God s call and direction for their lives. This program requires a summer credit for completion. Majors: Majors are available only Monday Friday, 8:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m. To qualify to make application to one of the majors at CFNI, an applicant must satisfy at least one of the following prerequisites*: o Have completed the first and second year programs at CFNI o Have received the one-year Certificate of Biblical Studies (This option available for international students only) o Have completed a minimum of two years of qualifying ministry o Have completed two years of Bible College equal to CFNI o Have earned a Bachelor Degree from a post-secondary institution o Be the spouse of an approved major applicant. Please note: a spouse of an applicant who does not meet one of the above prerequisites, may also apply for the same major, with concurrent enrollment Leadership & Pastoral Students will learn firsthand from seasoned pastors and instructors how to build a solid foundation for effective spiritual leadership in an ever-changing culture. Students will be challenged to take their place as a leader and dare to influence others for God s purposes. Worship & Technical Arts Students will gain practical teaching from leaders in the professional Christian worship and technical arts field. In addition to receiving fresh insights in songwriting, musicianship, worship theology, and worship leading, students will develop skills in important areas such as audio recording and videography. Global Missions Students learn culturally appropriate ministry tools, hear from engaging speakers, and have fun along the way. Students will also learn how they can make their mark on God s Kingdom for eternity. Youth Students will become incredible communicators, ministers, counselors, and specialists for today s youth. They will get empowered with great knowledge and a heart for youth that is sure to impact this generation. All School of Youth students are required to have a laptop. Children s & Family Students will receive focused, strategic instruction to equip and empower them for this vitally important ministry. Students will receive valuable impartation and practical skills, which will release them to transform generations. Healing Students are thoroughly equipped with God s Word, breaking modernday myths that many Christians believe about healing. Students are taught the biblical process of receiving the healing God promised in His Word, and their expectancy will heighten as they learn about God s healing power. Online Program: The Online Program is available to all domestic students. Many people have desired to study at CFNI, but they are not able to come to us so this program is designed to bring CFNI to them. You will be able to study at your convenience right where you are. Applicants in this program will have a Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall term. Music Education Department Music/Arts Courses: The Music Education Department Music lessons are available to all students for an extra cost, and are also available to audit for a fee. Practice rooms are available in the Music Building. Guitars and other instruments are available for rental. During the two-year program, students who wish to specialize in music studies may qualify for a Music Minor Certificate by including four semesters of private lessons and two semesters with a music or drama ministry team. Contact the Music Education office for more information. NOTICE: The Department of Education may reduce future financial aid to recipients of the Bachelor of Practical Ministry Degree who go on to complete an additional bachelor degree at an accredited institution. An accredited institution is an institution whose accrediting body is recognized by CHEA and the Department of E ducation. Specifically, the Federal Student Aid Handbook states that a student who has already earned a bachelor degree will not be eligible for the Pell Grant if a second bachelor degree is pursued, even if the first bachelor degree was earned at a non-accredited institution. While this policy also applies to the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity grant (FSEOG) and the State of Texas Tuition Equalization Grant (TEG) it is important to note that any grant awards are subject to limitations based on personal and family income levels and are not automatically awarded upon application. Any CFNI graduates who have earned the Bachelor of Practical Ministry Degree who desire to pursue an additional bachelor degree and who would make application and financially qualify for the above noted federal and state grants may instead choose to graduate with the an Associate of Practical Theology Degree plus the third-year Advanced Studies Diploma. If a student applies to graduate with an associate degree and diploma the academic transcript will not reflect the bachelor degree. All applications to graduate must be completed through the Student Portal.
