It s an unthinkable problem. With a simple solution. WE EXIST TO FREE CHILD SEX SLAVES.
It s the harshest reality possible. NEARLY 2 MILLION CHILDREN WORLDWIDE LIVE AS SEX SLAVES.1 Conservative estimates show that a child sex slave may be raped over 10 to 15 times per night.2 THERE MAY BE 175 MILLION CHILD LABORERS IN THE WORLD TODAY.3 Good people don t know how vast this problem is. Tim Ballard O.U.R. Founder EMMANUEL S STORY O.U.R. rescued Emmanuel* from an illegal orphanage in Haiti in Only 3 years old, Emmanuel could have been sold to traffickers and forced into the illegal sex trade. When the undercover rescue team arrived, the abusive ringleader told them: These kids are all for sale. Emmanuel s story ended well. O.U.R. rescued him. I think he knew who we were, O.U.R. leader Tim Ballard says. Emmanuel jumped into my lap It was his ride to freedom, and he was no longer a slave. 1. UNICEF. Children out of sight, out of mind, out of reach. Accessed March 6, The National Report on Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking International Labor Office. 3 How we free child slaves Our 3-step process was designed by covert military, intelligence, and law enforcement operations. 01 S T R AT E G Y 02 AC T I O N 03 FOLLOW-UP Research Coordination with local authorities Planning for the safety and legality of the operation Finding safe, legal, and sustainable care for the children Undercover operation led by trained experienced Jump Team Safe rescue of the children Arrest of perpetrators in conjunction with local law enforcement Transition of children to long term care Monitor judicial case against the suspected traffickers Train local law enforcement for future rescue operations O.U.R. BREAKS THE CYCLE Often, the perpetrators were victims of trafficking themselves. They know no better way to survive. O.U.R. s actions break this cycle. Major news outlets have recognized O.U.R. for successful missions and their impact on children, their effectiveness working with local governments, and for rendering trafficking rings inoperative after missions have been completed. To see how O.U.R. saved 28 children in Haiti, watch the trailer for the documentary, The Abolitionists, on OURrescue.org.
What makes O.U.R. model work Our rescue teams are a focused, nimble group of extraction experts. We are former U.S. Navy SEALs, CIA operatives, law enforcement officers, medical personnel and military veterans We partner with effective and efficient foreign government, military, and law enforcement agencies We have proven success in accomplishing numerous undercover missions PRIVATELY RUN, BUREAUCRACY-FREE Since O.U.R. is not tied to a government agency, we have the ability to identify, plan, and complete extractions more quickly while partnering with other reputable anti-trafficking organizations. WE FORM LONG-TERM RELATIONSHIPS WITH DOMESTIC AND FOREIGN GOVERNMENTS Most governments want to fix the problem of child sex slavery, but many lack sufficient infrastructure and resources to address it We provide software and train governments to use technology for catching traffickers After we complete a mission, the local government has a working model for addressing sex slavery and sex tourism to continue actions on their own When we re in a foreign country, we work with the foreign government. We go in the front door. Tim Ballard
Operation Triple Take: Colombia, October Three operations were launched in conjunction with the U.S. embassy and Colombian government authorities. 2. O.U.R. Jump Teams posed as sex tourists Americans traveling to Colombia to pay for sex with children. 3. At the appointed time before any children could be hurt Colombian police arrived to arrest all of the adults involved, including the O.U.R. Jump Teams, keeping the entire mission under wraps and the perpetrators confused until well after they were behind bars. OPERATION TRIPLE TAKE RESULTS A TOTAL OF 123 VICTIMS WERE RESCUED AND TURNED OVER TO COLOMBIAN AUTHORITIES 10 PERPETRATORS WERE ARRESTED The sting was so successful that major sex trafficking rings have been rendered inoperative, leaving much of Colombia s sex tourism industry shattered. Total cost: A fraction of a basic foreign military operation After that first rescue, I knew I would spend the rest of my life saving these little girls. Undercover Jump Team Leader
Missions are planned. O.U.R. team is ready. Silence the Traffickers. Save the Children. With your support, we can green-light the next operation. Silence the Trafficers. Save the Children. J OIN TH E FI G HT T O ST O P C H IL D S LAVE RY and stop child slavery in countries around the world. YO U R D O N AT I O N L E T S U S MAKE GOOD ON O.U.R. PROMISE: To the children: Hold on. We are on our way. To the captors: Be afraid. We are coming for you. OURrescue.org
An occasion to celebrate: O.U.R. makes it possible for children to be free from sexual slavery. Forever. The Jump Team s undercover operations include setups in which they buy children. As a result of the setup pictured here, in which $30,000 is changing hands, children were saved, perpetrators were arrested, and all money was recovered. I have seen the face of modern-day slavery, and it is every bit as outrageous as the slavery of Abraham Lincoln s day in the 1800s. O.U.R. Founder Tim Ballard
To our donors: Thank you. We can t save them without you ABOUT O.U.R. FOUNDER, TIM BALLARD Former Department of Homeland Security Agent Tim Ballard s experience on dangerous foreign deployments gave him not only insight into the scale of thesex tourism industry, but the skills to work effectively against it. Over his career, he has successfully dismantled dozens of child trafficking organizations and saved hundreds of children. His work had impacted him deeply, and he was ready to dedicate himself full time to abolishing child slavery world wide. After several years as a special agent with the Department of Homeland Security, In 2013, Tim Ballard left to found Operation Underground Railroad. Prior to his work at the Department of Homeland Security, Ballard worked for the CIA on terrorism cases in Latin America. He has an undergraduate degree in Spanish and political science, and a master s degree in international politics. If my team and I don t find these kids, no one is going to. It s our job. We have to do something. It s an unthinkable problem. With a simple solution. Help us save child sex slaves today. OURrescue.org / info@ourrescue.org 700 N.
