17 Summer 2012 Administrative Internship Program Since the initial program in 2006: Hosted 71 summer interns Hired 18 interns into full-time positions upon completion of degree programs Summer 2012 Offering several ten-week full-time paid internship opportunities Interns will work closely with senior management Past interns have worked in the following departments: Operations- NYP/Weill Cornell Operations- Morgan Stanley Children s Hospital Patient Centered Care International Business Development & Patient Services Office of Strategy Support Services Division Operations- NYP/Allen Pavilion Revenue Cycle Finance- Investment Office Operations- Westchester Division Procurement & Strategic Sourcing Center for Children s Health Advocacy Policy 17
18 Administrative Internship Candidate Profile 1 st year students enrolled in MBA/MPH/MPA/MHA program Healthcare work experience is a plus, but not required Program is not open to any foreign national who must be sponsored to obtain or extend employment authorization to participate in, or accept employment following completion, of the program. 18
19 Internship Program Components Assigned a mentor from the members of the Emerging Leadership Council. Participate in one-on-one career information meetings with Senior Leaders at the Hospital Inside NYP Speaker Series- guest lectures Conduct a 15 minute presentation to senior leadership, highlighting contributions to the organization at the completion of the summer program. Participate in formal and informal networking events throughout the summer with other emerging leaders in the organization who have completed similar academic programs 19
