A level: ABB plus essential subjects of English and Maths at GCSE grade C or equivalent. HNC (in Social Sciences or Science) with Graded Unit A. UCAS Tariff points: 275 UCAS points over one sitting or 340 over two sittings. Access course: Scottish Wider Access Programme Grade BBB overall. International Baccalaureate: 28 I.B. points.

9 Level 2 Entry Requirements HNC: Social Sciences with Integrative Assessment grades AA, including Psychology modules. HND: Social Sciences with 4 Integrative Assessment grades AA in year 2, including Psychology modules. H.E. Credits: Successful completion of Level 1 of a degree programme (normally 120 credits) at another institution of Higher Education with passes in appropriate subjects.

10 Level 3 Entry Requirements H.E. Credits: Successful completion of Level 2 of a degree programme (normally 240 credits) at another institution of Higher Education with passes in appropriate subjects.

11 Level 4 Entry Requirements Direct entry into level four will not normally be considered. However, admissions into level four, which have occurred over the last four years, have been from GCU BSc Psychology students wishing to return to complete their Honours year.

17 Mature and Overseas Students Requirements Formal entry requirements may be relaxed for mature applicants (21 years of age and older) whose record of educational achievement and relevant experience is considered appropriate. Mature students successfully completing a recognised Access course can be considered for admission to the programme. Non standard applicants may be interviewed to assess their suitability, and may be required successfully to complete a course of study at the University Summer School. Overseas students, whose first language is not English, are required to meet the University minimum of IELTS 6.0 in order to demonstrate an appropriate level of competence in written and spoken English.

19 What do our graduates do? The graduates of the BSc (Hons) Psychology Programme are employed in typical areas expected for graduates with a BSc (Hons) Psychology degree. Employment ranges from part time positions such as Support Worker with the Social Work Department, Gunner in the Territorial Army to full time positions such as Office Manager, Customer Adviser and Sales Graduate. Salaries range from 10,000 to 26,000 with an average salary of 14,000. One student is working as an Assistant Psychologist and studying for a Clinical Psychology Higher Degree. An interesting trend is that more of the graduates are pursuing a Higher Degree (16 full time and 2 part time). Many are tending to support this by some form of paid employment (8 are working part time and 1 full time).
