Dynamic cone speakers have not substantially evolved in the last 30 years. It's basically the same pudding in different containers. Totem has always specialized in "smaller volume", "large sweet-spot" "articulate imaging" designs for loudspeakers and our 25 years evolution has made us very aware of evident shortcomings of speakers trying to be sport cars/pocket battleships and luxury cruisers all rolled into one. The world's needs are evolving towards very timeless products that easily intermesh in a home and have multiple roles and usages. Current driver technology was just not capable of producing the necessary dynamics, image stability and bass extension from a very small package. We strove to optimize this but additionally achieve "this" from a driver utilizing "no" passive or active crossover parts in the woofer path. We believe that this type of configuration would give us the most phase correct perception of music "anywhere" in a room. Maintain the realism, true speed and pace of the presentation with the least amount of added artifacts.
